They are way too powerful, in two/three shots they can bring down a full guard (I'm level 10 two handed warrior). And that is on normal, not even hard.

Am i doing something wrong? or they are just that powerful?

You mean the enemy archers? I had trouble with them in the Crestwood fortress on Hard so I turned the difficulty down. Now I'm playing only on normal.

Don't have any issues with them on nightmare.  Just have Blackwall taunt them and shield wall or have Varric use full draw to put them to sleep.

First, make sure that you do not have any berserker gear on your (the masterpiece bonus that grant you 10, 20, 30% bonus damage but increase incoming damage by 100, 200, and 300%).

Second, every range NPC has a low health pool, and that why you should focus them down as soon as the fight start while your tank is grouping all mele together for the slaughter. Also, keep in mind that you have plenty of dissabling ability, use them...

Mage: Dissabling ability > auto Attack > improved Energy Barrage

Rogue: Stealth > Aimshot (late game you will literraly one shot every range with that) > Longshot (better if you can build a combo with your longshot)

Dual wield Rogue: Stealth > Twing Fang > auto attack > Flanking Strike (if you can kill without death blow use flanking strike since death blow will not trigger dance of death - at least for me).

Warrior: Grappling Hook > Auto attack > Mighty Blow > Pommel Strike (better to build a combo with another mage/rogue)

And no, they are not too powerful, you just have to deal with them the proper way: range DPS > annoying terror that blink around every 2sec if not dissabled > mele DPS > BOSS.

Make sure your tank have Turn the bolt talent from SnS tree
Then make sure they face archer from the front
With properly built tank, archer will do only marginal damage
