I was kicking around ideas on what I would like to see starting in DA 4, and I want to see an enemy that is the DA equivalent of say the  Vord a race in Jim Butcher's Codex Alera.  An enemy that causes unlikely allies. Something that threatens not only Thedas, and it's inhabitants, but everything. Something that would make a Demon of Terror scared. I mean how cool would it be to see Templar and Abomination, Grey Warden, and Darkspawn, Tevinter, and Qunari, every possible group or faction you can think of forced to work together for survival.The beginning of the game you see all your favorites minus one or two obliterated. With a character, companions, and NPCs you get attached to then make the final battle at the end a Pyrric Victory and all the heroes die to just to slow this enemy down. 5 the enemy seemingly wins. 6 an unlikely hero to fight the threat and a cliff hanger ending where at the end it might look like the leader was finally defeated or might not be defeated.  So if there is a 7 they can start with a new enemy or the return of the ultimate threat. It is just a rough idea, and needs alot of work but I want to here your input. See what every other DA fan thinks, Add to it take away something. I just ask that you be constructive, and not be negative, disagreeable, or otherwise a jerk. I am doing this as something different and I want to see other peoples ideas, and if this works maybe then we talk about how actual gameplay mechanics etc would work in other post.

Disclaimer: I do not work for Bioware. I just wanted to do something that was fun. Also wouldn't necessarily hopefully cause an argument. And Bioware employees feel free to chime in. Let's have some fun. Anyone?

A 4th Dragon Age game is going to be at least 3 or 4 years off. The only things I can say I want to see definitely right now are a return to party based combat and its PC roots. Less consolization please.
