You can disagree all you want... this is the way of things with many gaming publishers; release an unfinished game to get profit, and promise DLC to its "important customers" to make them feel good, while making even more money because they know the customers will pay for it.

DLC is ALWAYS a rip off.

I don't see anything wrong with paying for DLC if I see it as value add to the game experience. That said, day 1 and on disk DLC is anti-consumer and should be named and shamed if a company goes down that path.

Any point you may have had is rendered moot if you accept nothing but absolutes. If you think in such extremes, it's only natural that you'll feel unsatisfied and it will not be anyone else's fault but your's. The gaming industry has long since stopped catering to only very special customer niches. if you can't accept that publishers and developers mediate their games to appeal to the broadest consumer base they feel adequate for any given product, then don't purchase the product and find something that does cater to your specific preferences.

Extremes do not provide a wide consumer base.

I think they should release an updated PC UI as DLC. That will show the PC players hoe much Bioware really cares about them, since many seem too stupid to realize this game is awful compared to DA:O. It's not a bad game, but it is worse than almost any game I have played, including DA2.

Not always but in general yes.

This game will never be good. The quests are waaaaaaay too shallow. The character customization as you level is just awful. The items are awful. If you are enjoying the game after hating it initially, you are experiencing cognitive dissonance; aka the tendancy to change beliefs to match behavior. You've played this crappy game so long your brain is convincing you it must be good. I recommend to anyone to go back to DA: Origins. You will be blown away by how much better it is than Inquisition.

has the patch been pushed yet?  Anyone try it?  I'm skeptical of quick patches,  I know everyone has been screaming for it, But I've been many of patches with bioware, that fix some peoples problems and then ruin some other peoples save games.  Just trying to assess the ramifications before I update.  If I have the choice, I purchased thru origin could be a forced push.

Nothing yet. But you can disable the auto update feature in Origins under the General settings tab in application settings.

What if I enjoyed it from the beginning? Do I have a real opinion then?

Origins is also a great game, of course. Whether or not it's better than DAI is something I'll only be able to judge after I've played DAI seven or eight more times. (I ultimately ended up liking DAO and DA2 roughly the same amount for different reasons. I suspect this may happen again, but it's really too soon to say.)

Fixed that for you :P

The ME2 DLC packages led to quite a bit of additional play time for me. Those were high value products offered for bargain prices. I'd welcome well-crafted DLC for DA:I

Some people here are either on EA's payroll or own a hotel.

Alternate appearance packs led to additional play? ROTFL

Some people refuse to buy horse armor. I'm one of them.

so ... every single game you've played so far in your life has been great ? wow ...

i mean ... if it's not bad then it must be good. and if it's good but worse than all the other games then all the other games must be great.

but if all the other games are great then you either have a really weird assessment style or you're really good with picking your games.

in which case ... if you have such a flair for picking out great games ... then why did you pick inquisition ?

something must be off with your awesomely smelling game nose ... which means that everything you say is not to be trusted since your radar is so off all of a sudden.

when will people let da:o in peace ... it was a freaking awesome game. whatever came next ... these guys ( bioware ) have no responsibility to you.

no, before you start rambling bullshit ... i will stop you.

GAME COMPANIES DO NOT HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU. you're not the furry, warm little center of the universe and they don't care. just as they shouldn't. who the hell are you to them ? you're just some random dude giving them, by your own choice i might add, a tiny amount of money. get it through your thick skull already. they create a product ... you choose if you buy that product or not. simple as that.

this is the industry as it is. sure, they false advertise sometimes ... but if you're not mature enough to see through their bullshit .. then no offence, but you shouldn't have a wallet in the first place.

if your sense is so messed up that you believe anything some company tells you ... dude, stop buying ****. have someone else pick the stuff to buy.

or wait a week or two after the release and buy it based on reviews ( and no, not from big websites, those are all paid for. check out review from independent, small websites/gamers ). or at least read and filter the comments on the reviews.

when you ****** and moan about every single thing ... it's only natural for the dev's to give less and less of a **** about you which in turn makes them churn out shittier and shittier games.

it's a vicious circle. stop. take it as it is. or better yet ... don't buy it. either appeal to their better nature by not crying like a little ****** and rationally and reasonably offer proper input ... or hurt their wallets and force them to make better games.

anyways ... i'm wasting my breath ...

why do you think they release broken games ? because you, the user, are stupid enough to buy it.

stop buying it ... and they will no longer release broken games.

and no ... that thing about 'how can i know if a game is broken before release' is bullshit. stop pre-ordering. are you crazy ? any other way you put it .. that's just crazy.

you're basically paying for something that doesn't exist, based on a promise from someone you don't know. do you not realize how stupid that is ?

stop preordering ... stop buying games on day one. wait for a bit ...

in time the companies will learn that this **** doesn't work anymore ... and they will start fixing their games before they release them.

and for the love of god ... stop paying for **** you don't need. 'uhh, a new armor. i have to have that ****' ... no, you don't. that's something that should be given to you free, as part of the game.

now, with a proper dlc ... sure. pay for it ... but to pay an extra 10 bucks for a freaking armor design and a stupid chair and a mount you don't use ?

If this is about banter—much like the 'fixes and workarounds', and the general brouhaha sorrounding everything up until Bioware said something official, you might be overestimating what banter will add to your game, by a lot.

Again, it was always working fine (for the most part), it's just that hundreds of thousands people playing the game added new perspective. So there you go!

Not particularly, but the things I would like, like the second coming of auto attack will probably only be fixed in the third patch. If ever.
