Can we vote on it?  Is that a real question?  Of course we can't vote on it, this isn't a product designed by commitee.

Unless you count the old "vote with your wallet" line.  If the MP in this game flops, then the chances of a similar system being built for the next Dragon Age game likely go down.

I want to know where this fantasy that it came from a different resource pool came from?

1 publisher

1 dev

1 budget

(I don't care if they've lied somewhere and said it's separate)

You have the same amount of evidence to support your accusation as the person you responded to.  Got numbers to back it up?

Multiplayer did not steal anything from Simgleplayer. It was a team operating with a separate budget. The MP budget would never have gone to SP if there wasn't MP.

Accidentally clicked multiplayer.

Saw cash shop.

Lost respect for Bioware (although likely demanded by the suits at EA)

Did you actually look at the cash shop?

It doesn't sell anything that you can't get by playing the game.  There is nothing in MP that is behind a paywall, nor you can just "pay to win" since you can't buy xp or specific gear.  You can, if you really want to, buy potions and random loot with real money instead of gold.  But you get gold and xp pretty quick.  If people want to dump money on the game like that, fine with me.

Its not a competitive activity. It doesn't reduce my enjoyment or chances of success.

And, regardless of what you think, without the additonal revenue that they expect from MP, the resources for developing it would not have been provided.  Not to mention, those guys who worked on ME3 MP and came over to help design this game's MP do not necessarily have the skills that would have let them be of any help on the single player game.

It seems to me Archangel goes out of his way to pick fights in these forums.  This is the 3rd thread I've stumbled across where you popped in with the direct intent of stirring up sh*t.  I'm just gonna toss you on ignore now and save myself the time later.

MP would have been better if it was more closer to the various fetch quests you get in single player on all the maps, except this time it's populated by other players rather than a bunch of NPCs.

I don't think the combat system for DA is conducive to a fun MP.  Mass Effect was fine because it's a shooter.  Those always translate well to MP.

While I am sure they hope to sell platinum, the actual main goal of MP in games like this is to keep people involved and interested in the franchise so they'll buy DLC for the main game because they are still around playing when it comes out.  If they've wandered off to play something else, a good percentage of them won't bother to pick up the DLC.

I feel that multiplayer stole resources from our game. I think if the didn't waste anytime with it we wouldn't be lacking in so many aspects that would of made DA:I a 10/10 game. Can we make our voice heard and let Bioware know that we never want to see multiplayer again?

  1. You assume resources were stolen. That's flawed logic addressed many many times.
  2. You assume most agree with you, why try to rally voices you do not have?
  3. We don't get a vote anyway
  4. The multiplayer is fine (though I have mostly played SP so far).
  5. I look forward to seeing multiplayer again in DA.

I'd love to never see multiplayer in Dragon Age again, but sadly I think that's where the industry is headed and there's not really anything we can do about it. Too many people like multiplayer and it's too good a cash cow for EA to ever let go of it.

DAI multiplayer content makes me sad.

They could at least allow it give some sort of reward or something to your single player game. The second team could've made another part of the single player game.

Either way, the multiplayer they have no just...feels wrong. A lame dungeon crawl. ME3's was very surprisingly good. Good maps, good loot, easy to understand skills/roles and best of all, seeing that percentage go up after every round gave a sense of progress. This though, adding crafting wasn't a good idea. Loot is some how confusing, despite being the same system, and no feeling of progress because we only get more multiplayer stuff.

Again, after what happened with ME3 - even though it's now fixed - I really don't want to chance that again. Perhaps items of some kind would be alright, but if the multiplayer ever happens to affect the ending again I'll probably end up avoiding it like the plague once more.

Multiplayer is a cancer upon gaming.

It steals resources from single player in games where multiplayer has no place.

Seriously...is multiplayer needed in:

Dragon Age?

Mass Effect?

Tomb Raider?

etc...

But it's what happens when game design decisions are made in the board room and marketing department.

Every time I see this argument, the finance major in me rages.

I haven't yet touch the mp yet since I still working on the sp. I am on my third playthrough. Probably do a 4th playthrough before I get into the mp. But I don't see why people are complaining about it? The single player is awesome as it is, plus they plan on adding more. Dragon Age Inquisition Awakenings type dlc. Or maybe Morrigan dlc?

The simple truth is mp isn't the focus of the game. It is something extra and optional.

Can you vote? Yes

The question is will it have any effect?

BioWare - do a multiplayer - force players to use in-game voice chat by disabling in-game option for voice chat - laughing of how genius they are...

This multiplayer is so flawed, one would think that after the mistakes of ME3 they learned something, yet they fail to recognize even those basics. Even more hilarious were the mp team attempts to reassure players that DA:I mp is somehow realy hard, well it´s realy not that hard - you just need few normal players and you´re able even with level 1 end up at 4 wave.

This mp segment is totally useless, I would rather see it banished out of this realm and never returned in exchange for another 6 hours of proper story content.

The only reason some of my friends deigned to purchase this game was because it had MP in it. Otherwise, they'd still be in the dark about DA. I say keep MP and make it better in future installments.

I was quite surprised. I actually liked this multiplayer a lot. Okay, I HATED the ME3 multiplayer. That I could tell was just garbage that was completely static, boring, and was required in order to get the 'good' ending for a while until they patched it (its an opinion not fact... except the last part). Now this, I like in Inquisition: a dungeon crawler, a variety of characters with different classes and different skills that actually matter (offensive, defensive, support, mix), difficult missions that require tactics and team work, enemies that have weaknesses that can be exploited or completely missed depending on builds and it DOESN'T affect the SP. They basically took everything that was missing in ME MP, and put it in DA MP. Did it steal resources from the main game? Hard to say, but I lean toward the negative (could be wrong). Can the MP be improved. Definitely, but that's not a bad thing. At least right now they have an excellent base to start with. Can't wait to see more.

MP was just a nonsensical and unfunny addition to the game, clearly developed around the monetisation aspect of it.

Some of us actually find the MP fun and yes I've completed SP twice.

I like the MP. It just needs more improvements. Make the loot more meaingful and give out weapons by level. I'm sick of being high level and using a low level staff.

I feel bad saying it, because the single player is so great, but hot damn that multiplayer is awful.

The problem with MP is that it's basic MMO instances ad infinitum.

Which are done to death by actual specialized MMOs and better at that.

I'd be up for it if there was a character creator and the kinks in the net code were ironed out.

And I'd find out why my mic somehow disables all MP noises.

Multiplayer is decent. I liked me3's better personally. This one doesn't hook me at least so far. Does have some potential with some tweaks and more carried maps.

And like others have mentioned the game is financed by EA, and EA wants multiplayer. I don't really blame them you'd be shocked what people spend on fifa or Madden

ME3 MP affected SP ending = very bad idea. The ME3 MP reminded me of SWTOR forced PVP. Pickup quest in non-pvp zone forced to complete or do part of the quest in pvp zone(no pvp gear)= bad idea again.

I don't mind MP, but I play MMORPGS already so it's not a feature that sways in me in a certain direction. If the DAI MP means we four can play the story together and fight tougher dragons together(all wipe in one hit) then I'd consider it.

The resources allocated to multiplayer would not have gone to singleplayer if it didnt exist.

As it stands, the multiplayer is a bit meh.
