I'm playing a Mage.

 

So after Lothering I went straight to the Tower of Magi. I just escaped the Fade and picked up the Litany from Niall's body, and leveled up after killing Sloth.

Now, when I level up I notice I can pick the Arcane Warrior specialization.

Where and when did I unlock this specialization!? I read on the Dragon Age wikia and the only way to unlock it is supposedly in that ruin in the Brecilian Forest. And I haven't been there yet!

I'm playing Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition on Steam.

I have two mods installed, FtG UI Mod - More Readable Fonts and UI and FtG Quickbar - Center and Multi Rows. Could one of these have caused Arcane Warrior to unlock prematurely!?

 

Or do you unlock it in the Fade, and it's just undocumented on every guide on the internet!?

Once you unlock these specializations in the game, no need to ever do it again unless you reinstalled your game. They will be available for any future play-thru's  and all new characters

They will still pop up in the game as specialization learned, but they are already there to use. Have fun and you are welcome

Installing Awakening seems to unlock several of the specs ... and if you haven't already it's worth creating a throw-away Warden-Commander just to unlock the rest via buying manuals that are easily found at several vendors.
