Jack from Mass Effect. She and her story reminds me of my childhood.

Seriously, sometimes it seemed like a Warden who wanted to garner approval with Morrigan had to do so by acting in a way contrary to their goals.
Looking at you, Redcliff quest.
If that's not a factor, I am so in.
I know what you mean. But there was really easy to get a lot of approval points with her personal quests and gifts (I know, I know, to the hell with the gifts and approval point but that's not the point now
). So it didn't necessarily effected your gameplay with forcing out of character decisions.

Bioware actually does a good job at the types of females I like. They're all different, but generally speaking, I like Jack, Ash, and Cass. Headstrong brunettes, I guess? Heh. They all kind of wear their heart on their sleeve, but strong at the same time.
Pretty much, except I go more for Miranda, Morrigan, and Cassandra. Also Isabela, who breaks the mold a bit, but she's a ton of fun to be around.

My perfect LI would be:
Artistic, short tempered and opinionated until you get to see the real girl behind the wall. Once you earn her trust, she is devoted and submissive.
5' 6", 110 lbs (tho she claims to be 105)
Long brown hair.
Hazel eyes.
Fond of ropes, warm baths and being fed from my hand.
Also educated with an interest in most things geek.

Isabela and Miranda mixed together. I love Isabela's freedom of thought, without the sluttiness though, and love how Miranda never took any **** from anyone, she held the fire. Yup definitely a mix of those two.

Hmm...
I would like an Orlesian, elven archer (with a very French accent) who has no particular loyalty to your cause and is a bit cold and aloof at first. Maybe he would be pledged to your service by his lady/lord after you gain their alliance. Then later in the story they might betray you, and if he has warmed up to you (I love melting the ice queen tropes) he will stay by your side out of loyalty to you, not your cause. I like dark hair and pale eyes for this one, and have no preference for his orientation.
I also like the idea of an honorable dwarven warrior who got kicked out of Orzamaar for doing the right thing because of politics. She misses her homeland terribly. Determined not to be a mercenary, she looks for a worthy cause to pledge her sword to. I would like her to be blond or red-headed, I think. As for orientation I would like her to be bisexual or gay as I do not like to play straight men in these games.
Another character I would like would be a Tal-Vashoth mage who escaped the Qun long ago and just wants to be left alone. He'd be a reluctant hero, fond of doing the right thing, but distrustful of authority (understandably). He'd have a wry, cynical sense of humor and be very intelligent; kinda like Bruce Banner in the Avengers movie. I would prefer him to be less bulky than other male qunari, and maybe more of a copper or darker grey skin tone. He strikes me as straight or bisexual, but I wouldn't mind if he were gay.
And of course, I support a knight in shining armor for the gay men. Let him be a prince or lord, and a bit of a jock. I'm thinking personality-wise he could be cross between Alistair and Kaidan, if you wanted something sweeter, or Blackwall and Garrus if you wanted something with a little more spice to it. He could represent a culture we haven't seen too much of. Maybe he could be from the Anderfels, or be one of Cassandra's many cousins in Nevarra.

An anti-Dorian who tends to be selfless, not good with his wit, and really places little stock into the whole 'looking fabulous'. Maybe a seasoned soldier or military scout.
For the ladies: Ser Barris or a straight/bi male PoC for female characters. Cullen and Alistair are nice but it'd be nice to get a dark-skinned male LI that isn't a negative or amoral stereotype (Jacob was awesome but his LI arc was a disaster, Zevran runs on rather typical tropes). Actually it'd be nice if the straight female LI wasn't another blond for that matter.
A lady knight in shining armor. Most of the f/f LIs have been rogues of questionable morality or nice girls. Would be cool to have a Cassandra like LI that sweeps the PC off her feet. Something like a cross between Samara and Cullen, very elegant and noble.

Probably . . . . elven female with a mix of Morrigan's mystique, Leliana's ability to somehow be sweet and ruthless, Merrill's humility and Alistair's dark humor. . .suppose a human would be acceptable.

I would have to say my ideal LI was already pretty damn close with Iron Bull.
That said. I'd like a strong man, ideally, a Qunari I suppose in this case, with the Arishok's look, Iron Bull's natural Dominant and charm and maybe even Dorian's humor. ![]()

Well, given that the player has always been responsible for initiating a romance, I'd like to see BioWare flip that on its head and design a more aggressively flirty LI who tries to initiate the romance with you. Might be kind of nice to be the one being chased for a change.

I really thought there would be an option to flirt with Varric again, just once.
I get why he's not romance-able...but Lady Hawke got a flirt.
It's just so unfair. ::dramatic sigh::
LOL, yeah, I think Bioware ought to seriously consider a dwarven LI next game, or be prepared for the ire of the Dwarf fans.

Seriously, dwarf inquistors can get freaky with qunari, humans and elf, they really ought to add some yummy dwarves in the next game!
(Or resolve Varric's issues properly, seriously, he's pining for a Mary Sue, damn it)
My past favourite dwarves were Gorim (Steve Blum) and Leske (Brian Bloom again!), both we cheeky and charming in their own way. AH and Morinth Sigrun, she's so adorbs!

Solas came pretty close. He brings the story and has the even, rational temperament I seek in a real partner. At the same time, he's not attractive. The bald elf mage thing makes me think of Zathrian. Besides, playing the twentysomething girl who sleeps with an old professor-type is a little weird. Were the age difference less obvious, I would be more comfortable.

I can see why you'd think of it that way.
I even considered lampshading that factor in the beginning to get it out of the way (Let's play some LI husbandry! or something)...and you're the second to make note of it.
But really...It's fictional, and most people who posted seem to think it's fun. If you're happy with the way things already are and wouldn't have a single request, then I think it's a good idea to share that, as well.

No **** it's fictional, it's a type that is best left to sleazy dating sims. Bioware does not create characters that suit your every whim, as they are trying to add some layer of realism to their fiction. Romance can be important to a story, and Bioware does well to add it to their games, however, this sort of craft your own sex slave or romance slave at its base, touches at something dubious. That is probably why Divinity:OS did not have any real romance between the main characters, as the player created them both.

And I'm not hoping they will. I happen to agree with you completely.
I'm pretty happy with how things are, but that's not the case for everyone. And this has been a mostly fun, positive outlet to express that.
I appreciate your input, and I apologize if the thread bothers you. It wasn't my intent.

I missed the part of this thread where anyone was making a romance sex slave. Is that on the table now? Mine would have fuzzy pink cuffs.
But seriously, dude, settle down. Feedback is constructive for all elements of a game, including romance subplots. If it makes you uncomfortable maybe you're in the wrong thread. Thane's artist created him specifically to appeal to women and went around the office asking for constructive feedback. It's something artists do. No reason to be afraid of it.
