Okay, folks. So this, at it's core, was intended to be a positive thread. Something fun.

I didn't mean to weird anyone out, or start anything combative. There were a lot of threads complaining about the current LIs and I was trying to offer a productive outlet instead of one with a lot of infighting.

If this becomes the kind of thread it was meant to be an alternative to, it might as well disappear.

Let's keep it peaceful, please.

I would want someone kind of like Julie d'Aubigny: basically a bisexual woman, who was an opera singer and fencer and fought duels for both men and women in the late 1600s. There are numerous wild reputations about her. Such as how she fought and injured a duke's son in a duel then after words became lovers, or that she burned down a nunnery to escape with another lover, this time a nun. Or that she kissed a lady at a ball and three men challenged her to a duel and she won, only got in trouble because it was illegal to engage in dueling.

She also was a rather popular Opera singer as well for her time too.

So she kind of would be like isabella but much more class and noblity, but still an energetic and passionate woman for both men and women.

Honestly, I think Bioware does quite well at the romantic subplots as it stands.  The writers understand that what players say we want isn't always what we'd actually find best when playing the story.  They know how to surprise us, pleasantly and otherwise.

In a very general sense, my only real wish is that when it comes to the options available for straight male characters, they go less betty and more veronica.

I'm really not trying to brown nose here, but honestly Solas is nearly perfect for me. I say nearly, because literally all he is missing is closure. I like elves, the fact that he's intellectual is probably my #1, combined with his wonderful VA and just his diction and the way he talks, how it's almost poetic. And he's a mage which is good too. I also really love the depth his backstory brings. I honestly can't think of anything he's missing...

Also, I was kind of turned off by the baldness at first, but now I honestly can't see it any other way.

I've been fairly happy with the LI they have provided.

If I were to design one..I'd probably have to go with Maureen O'Hara looks, and mix of Leliana and Morrigan's personalities, definitely subtract the devout faith that Leliana has.  I like Leliana a lot, but from the game trailer I really thought she was going to be the more romantically interesting character for me, but it turned out to be Morrigan, so it was a bit of a let down from the trailer.

But a redheaded rogue with whit, charm, and maybe a touch if Isabella for the wild stuff, that would be the combination I have felt was missing.

Otherwise I have been incredibly happy with my mage girls Morrigan and Merril.  ahhh..Merril...

I'll take a nice little dwarf. Or a leliana but with a sense of humor.

Maybe even Morrigan with a bit more side boob?...maybe?

I'd love to have a female LI with a badass and rough exterior but a soft and loving heart underneath.

When it comes to looks, a cool short hairstyle would be best.

Oh, and maybe a scar to add the icing on the cake

One can only wish.

If Bioware did specifically cater to you and your particular tastes, and you were asked what your absolute ideal romance option would be, what would your request primarily entail?

Me.

I should be a romance option.

Typically, strong females like Cass and Morrigan, but Merrill, ignoring the mistakes she made, was a pleasant surprise. It was fun being able to help and comfort her.

My "ideal" love interest would be a male sword/shield warrior. His personality would be serious and responsible with a soft side that shows rarely and an awkwardness that shows when expressing his feelings, particularly romantic ones. He wouldn't respond well to being pursued aggressively but would grow closer to the PC naturally through the story and dialogue. If the PC keeps choosing positive romantic dialogue options but doesn't come right out and declare interest by a certain point, the LI would declare his interest. He's experienced in romance with both sexes and has had his share of ups and downs with it. Much like Iron Bull, this LI wouldn't take a submissive role in his relationships regardless of the sex of his partner. This love interest would have a great respect for martial skill and be wary of magic but not hate it outright. Mages would have to work a little harder to get close to him but could still have just as fulfilling a relationship if they put forth the effort, while warriors or rogues would have a slightly easier time due to some common ground (combat).

He'd probably look something like this:

I wouldn't write a love interest for myself.. I'd rather be surprised by someone else.

I'd write a male for females instead. Someone old and demented, like Zaeed. See how many takers he gets.

Not gay, but dibs anyway. Zaeed is the man.

Since Robin Sachs is gone (RIP), I'll settle for Michael Madsen.

I wonder for people who said Isabella, if the tendency to hump anything that moves is also a part of that "ideal" bit, lololol :P

A playersexual bombshell who leads the protagonist on only to reject them before maliciously hooking up with everybody else for shits and giggles.

I just hate the race gating. For me I love differences between people. I love seeing people who are not of the same race or culture coming together and falling in love. To look beyond the pointy ears, horns or short stature and see an amazing person who is worth falling for. I think this is why the Garrus/Shepard pairing was my absolute favorite.
