After that, though... hmmm. Badass lesbian magister who uses blood magic, worships the Old Gods, but at the same time hates noble pageantry and classism. One who believes that mages have a right to rule but also a duty to protect the ruled.
I'm happy with all the romances we have had so far, but if I had to pick then I'd love for a Garrus type personality and friendship turning to romance arc but in the body of a tall dark and handsome human male. As much as I love Alistair and Cullen, I'm a little sick of blonde boys.
I'm a sucker for friends first romances, not sure how the friends first thing would really work in a single game though, only worked in ME because of the continued protag.

Not as a good thing, haha. As a plot point. I don't know about you, but my heart ached when I heard the ambient dialogue in the Gallows in DA:2 where a mage tries to talk to his now-tranquil lover, and she explains in a disinterested monotone that she belongs to Ser Alrik now. Now imagine forcing that on the main character. If Dorian or Anders or Morrigan were made tranquil, and the PC has to listen to them say these things. "I remember loving you once. I don't remember why." It would be heart-wrenching. Now make the antagonist at fault. Bam, there's a whole romance plot right there while you work desperately to find a way to reverse the Rite of Tranquility.

If it was always like that, I'd definitely go ballistic and turn out like Anders. And I'm not a pro-mage player btw.
But it's not like that. Kirkwall and Alrik were criminal. Most apprentices choose tranquility willingly.

I don't think I would go for that kind of person in the first place, If the tranquil person doesn't remember what love was to them and why they should work to get it back, then they are dead to me. It's the same as killing off the LI. Also they were weak and not wise enough to allow themselves to be made tranquil.

I agree on a lot of things with Morrigan. See, to me love is a very logical thing - you give, you get, you make yourself and the other person happy. Tranquil are logical right? Then logically a person would want to go back to being happy if they remember what it was, even if they cannot feel it atm.

Just biology? Biology is the strongest, most powerful force for all living things. Reproduction, providing future vessels for our DNA is the single most important function of living things. Those who got off on all those neurotransmitters were the ones who reproduced the most often and had the most offspring survive to reproduce themselves. Just biology....that's like saying just atomic fusion.

It isn't about the person. Things could get worse, because love amplifies all kinds of things and outside pressures. It's hard to explain. I guess.

It is hard to explain because for different people love means different things. Like I said, to me it is a symbiotic relationship.
