Considering how much time and obviously caring attention was given to other areas of the game, it is disconcerting to see how little polish was given to body models and animations. Every time I watch characters walk in cut scenes, I am convinced that chronic diarrhea must surely have been a more serious problem in Thedas than even the blight.

It isn't just the Elves who walk like spider monkeys -- spider monkeys with severe stomach cramps.

That said, I love the game overall -- it's a massive and impressive accomplishment worthy of the trademark -- but let's be objective. Character creation, body models, and character animation are awkward at best, and are certainly not up to the standards set even by other, older BioWare games like ME2. Which is both puzzling and unfortunate.

I don't play elves cause of the shape, I create a female elve last time, but the way she moves, the length, the haircut... Why do we have elves anyway in the first place. Why not creating a different race?

In Skyrim you can adjust height and width for your PC. This comes in handy particularly if you don't want to  look like Pee Wee Herman trying to carry a 2h weapon. In combat some opponents with Hammers (or Hurlock Alphas) are HUGE. Why do I look as though I'd have trouble peeling a grape let alone wielding a greatsword

I most wish this option because of male elf...because seriously male elf models of body are scary and creepy as hell making me unable to play as one without being 100% disturbed.

Seems to me that not having elves as an integral part of this game goes against the whole theme of Dragon Age. Elves after all are the race that humans conquered in the DA legend and either enslaved or dispossessed and drove into lands that no one else wanted. DA Origins deals with that extensively in some detail. Initially I was first disappointed that I didn't get the choice of being a Dalish elf as an ideal scapegoat for the breach. Yet I still feel that like DA2 the choice should have been limited to a human as (a) humans are the dominant species in Thedas and (B) I think it unlikely that humans would give the same credence to any other race than their own and therefore give allegiance to. They regard elves as servants and the Qun as serious enemies. As for the dwarves? Hardy fighters, but they are not of the Maker (according to humans). Therefore they, like the Dalish, deserve an exalted march so they can be wiped out/conquered/ converted

The race choice is limited simply because of the legend conflict ind continuity credibility issues

That's height, not body type.

Skinny, Athletic/Shaply, Plump/Chubby/Buxom  (not every one of these just eamples for thre weight choices. Then with a height choice of Dwarven(default), Short, Average, Tall, Qunari(Default) and a body SHAPE choice of Awkward, Proportionate, Shorter Limbed(choice with legs and Arms)

This or atlest the heigt and or shape would be doable considering the Games like Drgons Dogma having several body shapes, weights, heights, and builds all categories with fine tunning sliders as well. Faces and features are all specific images (like 60 faces, 45 nose, 30 ears, 50 eyes, 40 hairstyles (nothing that's gam3 chaging in the world of fashion but every style you;'d want.like 9 great styes several of them with the shor mediu and long versions and then maybe 5 or 6 more styles that you could use that are original and stil cool looking instead of the absolute absence of even basic medieval period type hairstyles.AND hairstyles that are on NPCs but unavailable to self. Plus the presets are awful. There should never be a ton of make up sars and tattoos plus facial hair on a preset and id prefer to choose color from pallets not an ANNOYING WHEEL OF AGONIZING ANNOYANCE GIVING MY CHARACTER LIPSTICK OR DOPESICK LIPS!

What are you talking about?  I love clicking 50+ times and relying on pure luck to get the eye color I want.

From what I've been able to figure out, the color you get is always the color you selected on your previous click. So to get the color you want, select it, then click again in some random spot.

This also makes recording your choices with screen shots an interesting challenge.

...and this is apparently a feature, since BioWare has not (to my knowledge) acknowledged it as a bug.
