So i've completed the game and I'm still unable to buy mounts or recruit Dennet, i've talked to him with Vivienne and Cassandra in my party to no help?

Am I able to buy mounts without him?

You done all the Farmlands Quests and the Map operation to build the Watch Towers? Once you've done them all, you speak to his wife then to Dennet and should be able to recruit him.

Have you finished the two quests from his farm hand and wife? Dealing with the wolves and building the towers, including the operation on the war table for them?

I always end up having Dorian doing it for me, by being snarky about how Tewinter horses are better than Ferelden horses. That puts a fire under Dennets arse and he joins you right away.

 

Not sure if you have to do it right away though. I always recruit people as soon as I get the option, so I can't say if it will work when you come back later.

I first recruited him with Dorian. I know one of the perks also gives you the ability to recruit him, cant remember which one though.

If you've already finished the game, I honestly don't know if u can still recruit him. But no, if u don't have him u can't buy mounts
