Currently writing a small fanfiction. Albeit it's not anything great. But I wanted too try it out.

Go for it. Writing is fun, even if one is not very good at it.  :P

Eaten by a dragon apparently, because I looted his armour after killing one... :S

Which dragon? And what does the armor look like?

Unless the loot is randomized.

Barris stayed. He stuck with the Order to the end, trying to uphold the ideals of what the Templars should really be about even against impossible odds, even with his superiors, the rebel Templars, and pretty much the whole world against him. He lives and dies by the ideals of the Order, and only gives up if you force him to, if you disband the Order he's been fighting to save, so he has nothing left to fight for. That's an "ideal Templar" to me - one who will stay with the Order through thick and thin, who will bring it back to reason, reform it, weed out the corruption and shape it back into what it should be.

There's room to love all four characters for who they are, but Barris definitely takes the "ideal Templar" badge over the others.

This.

I do admire those that left when they did, but I can also admire Barris for staying in the order and trying to make it uphold what it should be.

Oh, and as far as his writer goes. Patrick Weekes told me this on twitter

@Ceoldoren I BELIEVE that would be the awesome @Sylvf1 :)

I'm not entirely sure who that is....if anyone knows let me know.

Something that is bothering me about the lord seeker rank.

So are they both the leader of the seekers and templars? Despite them being two different groups? Shouldn't the templars have their own leader, like a "grandmaster" or something.

Their leader is the Knight-Vigilant, he is murdered by Knight-Commander Denam and you can find his corpse in Therinfall.
The Knight-Divines are elite bodyguards of the Divine, Cassandra even says that the title of Right Hand goes to them, but her case was special. They were wipped in the Conclave.

The Seekers always had some control over the order, as you can se by Lambert , who made the Nevarran Accord null. So withouth a real leader, the order sought Lucius as their leader.

The one in the Hissing Wastes, for me anyway.

Looks pretty much exactly like Knight-Commander Plate as far as I can tell.

Even though the mage quest seems like it has more to do with it more involved and more quests after it I think for 90% of my playthroughs I'm going to go with the Templar quest for Three reasons, One Ser Barris, Two going into the fade (I love the fade in this game so amazing feeling imo) and three Barris. I really enjoy his war table missions and getting to promote him cause he deserves it. Though I do give him bonus points for being level headed that goes a long way with me. (I might also still be a bit of a sucker for how attractive I find him, I blame the eyes) Any who shutting up now.

Barris seems like kind of a retread of Cullen.

...who also voiced Ser Jory.

Have fun not seeing that now.

Oh...right what a petty reason to dismiss the entire character. :P

In fact, kudos to Mark for being a talented voice actor who can voice different kind of character.

They're nothing alike. And now you're just being a troll. If you can't be in here without being rude then you need to go. Please and thank you.

That was neither rudeness nor trolling, only an observation. And I'm not sure how they're "nothing alike," aside from the fact that Cassandra asked one of them to lead the Inquisition's army. From everything I've heard here, they seem to be extremely similar.

They are still different.
Cullen dont want to be a Templar anymore, he feels his addiction to lyrium is a weakness and want to overcome it.

Barris is a Templar, he wants to steer the Templars back to the right path even if it cost him his own life, he doesnt mind taking a large amount of lyrium to dispell the envy barriers.

Both of them wants to stop the breach and protect the innocents, be them a mage or a mudanne.

Cullen was a shy, somewhat unsure boy who was broken by demons and hated mages for years until he left the order and somewhat recovered.

I don't see how you can say that's anything like Barris

Well, since Barris doesn't have any backstory that I know of, all I can really judge them on is how they are now. Where their main personality differences seem to be which group they're running, and whether they want to continue using drugs.

Or which one falls to Corypheus and which one stands.

Exactly, we don't even know enough about Barris to be discussing this. You're just trying to be confrontational.

I felt the opposite way about him; I rather liked Cullen in Inquisition.

Merely trying to state an observation.

I wish we could see Barris interact with Samson, though. Given that Samson's a charismatic sort and seems to lead the Red Templars more by persuasion than by mind control (especially since Corypheus' magic seems to ensure that the red templars don't go insane), I wonder if Barris might have gone along with him after all.

Not likely, he seems pretty disgusted by red lyrium. Especially after his fellow templars tried to murder him.

On whose order? Lucius' or Samson's?
