He can survive??

I had no idea, did no research before doing that quest.
Now I feel terrible.
Not terrible enough to load a save before it, though.

I didn't read past the first couple posts. Does he have quests and such?
Gah, that quest was so annoying! "Run back to the main hall every 2 minutes to save the templars." My mage was getting extremely irritated constantly having to help them.
I checked my saves, and I had one from right when I got to the great hall, so Barris has been saved. I know it's not that much to go through, but I am being impatient. Woo.
He got 3 war table missions, after them being completed you will promote him to Knight-Commander and he will be leading the templars in the Temple of Mythal quest.I didn't read past the first couple posts. Does he have quests and such?

I am so close to being able to promote our good knight Ser Barris, I just know it! *happy dance*
K he survived, im in skyhold, i see him under my forces agent list but none of his associated war table missions appear? Is there any thing else i am missing?
Save Val Colline from the VenatoriThe above mission never appears
Checking in as Barris fan.
I was stupidly happy when I named him Knight-Commander. I have faith for the restoration of the Templar Order under his leadership. He's pretty much the ideal of what a Templar should be; I like to think my Inquisitor became a Templar in part due to the convictions and integrity he saw in Barris.
I posted this in the Val Royaux thread in scuttlebutt. But here is a an idea:
If Ser Barris is promoted to knight-commnader, perhaps he should be seen in Val Royaex at the templar base there? Maybe a quest or two he could provide or just to check up on him would be fine.
Ok this is my second playthrough barris lives, templars conscripted no missions for him. So i think we only get his missions IF templars are allys.
Unless, Do all of you who are getting his missions on digital deluxe or whatver? or the normal version?
I'll leave this here:
What, the poncy noble can survive, too?

I'm surprised by that too. He always gets an arrow to the face in my playthroughs.

He survives if you refuse to do the flags ritual thing.
And then you can pair him up with the Avar chief to create the ultimate diplomatic duo. It is almost as amazing as See Barris. He survives if you refuse to do the flags ritual thing.

I want to see that.
My character did the ritual, because she agreed with it, plus she was respectful of the templar traditions. But I so want to see that. ![]()

Seriously?
Missed opportunity by Bioware on the scene with Barris and the other templars breaking the Envy demon's barriers , they should have all recited these verse, would have made the scene even more epic.
" Blessed are those who stand before the corrupt and the wicked and do not falter. Blessed are those peacekeepers."
Now i know why people think its not possible to promote Ser Barris if you conscript the templars. I'm replaying my Inquisitor, but his war table didnt appear, I dont know if there something else than him surviving to do his missions.
The only thing different I did was keepimg ser Albernach alive.
Well 2 playthrough both times conscripted the templars, 1 noble dead, 2nd noble alive and still no war table missions. I honestly think that we only get his missions if allied and not conscripted.
my first playthrough I conscripted the templars and still had the war table missions, I dont know of its a bug or if I need to do something else to make it appear.Well 2 playthrough both times conscripted the templars, 1 noble dead, 2nd noble alive and still no war table missions. would like to know the answer to this as well. IS there something i am missing that is not enabling me access to his war table missions.
Seriously?
Yes. If Abernache (I do not know why I am able to remember his name) survives and you send the Avar chief to do a cultural exchange, he ends up with Abernaches and you get a war table mission (Abernache Over and Under) where both of them are complaining about their relationship (Abernache also complains about the fact that the Avar chief punches horses). Your options on the war table are to make the Avar chief train Abernache (Abernache gets injured during training), teach the Avar chief manners (apparently an Avar tradition involves flipping over tables at banquets, Abernache and his family begin to hide in terror), or turn them into the ultimate diplomatic team (where they develop a mutual respect for each as Abernache wows them with words and the Avar chief punches people that words do not work on). The mission is hilarious, and it is worth it to get the only diplomatic team that even approaches the level of awesomeness that Ser Barris has.
