The templars can answer to the Inquisition and Ser Barris, as Knight-Commander of the Inquisition's templars, shall lead them. Best ending right there.
Well the Inquisition's templars are not an independent/rogue group, so as long as the Inquisitor is an upstanding fellow and someone like Barris is the leader they should be fine;)
The Templar who complains to Cass about mages and the Silver Shield ending kind of implies that the Templars are still a bunch of mage-hating bigots. Plus, Cole's banter outright says that the good Templars are intimidated by the bad templars and they are a minority. The Templar that killed Cole and what happens to Barris in Val Royeaux are pretty much examples of good Templars being forced into submission by bad ones.
Also, Barris is a Knight-Commander, leader of a group of Templars, not Knight-Vigilant. How is Barris being Knight-Commander going to prevent another Meredith or Lambert from appearing in some other nation?
The templar who complains to Cass is paralleled by a mage who complains that their quarters at Haven are not up to their standards, implying that the mages are all spoiled like Vivienne says they are. The Silver Shield ending is triggered through the Seekers not being reformed and their resistance to following a mage Divine. This shows that there is a need for oversight especially in times of turbulence (any time Vivienne becomes Divine, there is resistance throughout the Chantry, not just the Templar Order.)
Cole is referring to what he experienced. When speaking about good templars being the minority, he is speaking specifically about the way things were at the White Spire. Reasonable templars may be forced into submission, but having good people in charge (and of course the guidance of the Inquisition like I said many times before) would prevent such behavior from running rampant like it did before.
Also, if you'd like to get into hypothetical scenarios, what's to stop some power hungry mage from rising to a position of power should the Templar Order and Circles be disbanded and then abusing said power? Such things are the norm in Tevinter.
I could throw out any number of hypothetical scenarios to show the dangers of abolishing the Templar Order and the Circles, but that doesn't get us anywhere because suggesting something that could happen doesn't prove a point.

No its not, but I dont see the problem of them not wanting to follow Vivienne, its their choice.
If they start doing bad things I will see this as a problem.
If they want to continue to act as a (para)military force it is.
Silver Shield, Bright Hand, Seekers, Thedas is having none of that ****.
The Inquisition is a independent group, and they can be a very powerful one by the end of the game.
Ah sorry, I see what you mean. Yeah the Inquisition could potentially become a problem in the future as well, considering its influence and lack of accountability to anyone. I guess it really depends on the Inquisitor and whether they would be willing to disband the institution once things calm down?

Not for long.

I dont think there will be a option to disband the Inquisition, the epilogue state the power of the Inquisition is growing and it would be lame to disband the Inquisition in a DLC, it should be a option in the main game.
I wish it had been.

It won't be an option. The Inquisition will either be defamed, forced to disband, or taken out of the Inquisitor's hands (the most likely scenario being the third) by the time things are completely wrapped up. At least that's what I'd assume.
If its not a choice I will stop playing any DA, why a player who fought hard to estabilish a powerful Inquisition will be forced to disband it? If its a choice, it will be ok.
Ser "Badass" Barris comes from a Badass family (its must be on his blood) and his badassery comes from before the Inquisition.

I wonder if this was made in response to his popularity on BSN?
Just harmless speculation mind you.
^sorry to say this but I don't find him a badass or a knight in shining armor at all. For him to be a badass in my eyes, he had to have stood up to the man who punched that woman in his introduction scene. But instead he chickened out and just went with it. Which is just sad thus not earning either title.
Funny enough, I can already hear people saying, "he only did that because his superior told him it was alright" argument. The problem, to me, is if barris had such a knight in shining armor moral compass he would not simply allow such an act to be waved over.
That's my problem with him and just don't understand how people see this guy as a do no wrong saint of a character.
Now, do I dislike him...no. Oddly enough, I do like his kinda boring character. (Never was a big fan of goody goody type characters).
Yes he didn't stood against Corin/Envy (he tried to convince him to aid you although), but I have a question, have you ever played Champions of the Just?
If you have played you would know that while he went to Therinfal, he started causing dissent among the rank and file (saying they should help the Inquisition), and was Cullen contact, sending him reports about what was happening at Therinfal.
No, no I didn't play that game. And to be honest, It still wouldn't have any sway for me on his character because all that happened after the fact. And if you chose the mages over the templars he probably simply went with it or acted far too late to actually do something.
I so want to learn that song.Ser "Badass" Barris comes from a Badass family (its must be on his blood) and his badassery comes from before the Inquisition.

While it would be cool to have him as a companion, I doubt it is likely since he can be explicitly stated to be dead. I mean sure you don't see the body, but I see no reason for the char to lie about it. Best we can hope for for him would be a cameo.Eh, he seems like an okay fellow. But as far as companions go for future games. I'd like for us to take a a step back from Templars or ex-templars. Give them a bit of breathing room after Inquisition. Doesn't mean we can't see the guy in DA5 or something. He seem like a cool guy to hangout with and go adventuring.
Well... he's dead to me (he died in Therinfall or whatever it's)
It's implied that he was killed with other templars who resisted against the red templars. No, no I didn't play that game. Uh-huh. Someone trolling.
Today is a good day. I'll let you guess why.
