Not always true, there were so many different endings for Origins that made it in the epilogue. I felt that every choice I made actually mattered in the end.

Origins, was not trying to be something it wasn't. DAI, is an absolute mess. Its trying to be like skyrim, way too much. If I wanted to play Skyrim, they i would play Skyrim.

When games start straying from what people like about them, then: developers will eventually get to a Square Enix situation. A HD remaster of an 11 year old game, outsold lighting returns to an embaressing level. Why? because they strayed too far from what people loved about the games in the first place. If Bioware continues on this path then sooner, or later they will end up in the same situation.

Just finished it. Was great. The scene where Morrigan realised she was back under the thumb of Flemeth was GOLD.

BTW OP, the last mission is really everything from the conclusion of What Pride Had Wrought onwards. This should have been obvious from the fact that you get the big Serious Talk with your companions -- the one that's been a staple of Bioware games ever since BG2, which in turn stole it from PST -- right then.

I think every game with a prominent narrative should tell a story that's satisfying in its own right, regardless of whether or not a sequel is forthcoming. For me, DAI dropped the ball in a major way there. The post-credits scene is awesome, and of course I'm eager to see where it leads, but it doesn't make up for what I felt this game lacked.

Oh, I agree. I just think it will suck a lot MORE if that truly was the end of our inquisitor/the inquisition's/our companion's tale. I think few people would contest that the ending had a lot to be desired. It was just a boss fight.

This is what happens when games become too open-world: the story suffers.

I respectfully disagree. This is what happens when they make the game more open world but only tie the story to these larger zones in with only the loosest threads.

They could have made the zones and the way you deal with them have larger impacts in the narrative.

No. This is what happens when they have to focus on making more and more companions have more and more story. It almost seems like you spend more time dealing with your companions' issues than you do with the actual threat.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the work out into the companions. But even their quests had more thought put into them than the end of actual game did.

I thought the party afterwards was meant to give the player a false sense of complacency. Solas was missing huh? "Yay it's over!" Yeah right! Or so I thought. I was waiting for the REAL end fight to interrupt this lil' party and give us a proper last battle .

The battle in the wilds destroys the crappy battle of London. You actually see your soldiers fight with you along with variations(mages, templars, wardens ect) Also while there should have been an attack on Skyhold before we fight Cory I was still happy with the more persona fight with him,

Also choices don't matter? SO who you made the divine, what you did the mages and templars all that jazz. Was no different then the epilogue slides in DAO

I respectfully disagree, the story didn't suffer at all because of the semi open-world
