There are two possibilities:

1) will come out two / three patches and the game will remain as it is.
2) the game will be supported and expanded with DLC and the like, and will perhaps even an Enhanced Edition (fee)..

Of the two possibilities I would much prefer the latter to the former.
But from what I read for many the game is not good, so it's okay some patches and the end of Dragon Age until the next game in the series.

thats the only 2 options? 3 patches that dont do jack sh*t about the lack of stuff in the game or the option of them adding stuff that was missing for a fee? thank god this is all digital because if someone in real life tried to swindle me like that i would kick him in the ***

not sure why you enjoy throwing money at things for no reason but im a college student who doesnt even have the time for a part time job, so paying for this game was a bit of a step away from my comfort zone as it is and i only did it because things were promised by bioware that werent there and the gaming media AND youtubers and all those ppl didnt mention the obvious problems. so if they DARE make a purchasable dlc that would add something like a dog companion, story stuff, side quests, hair and item variety and tactics and AAALLLL the things that are just plain missing from the game i swear i would learn how to crack their games and just give all their games for free.

nah, im too lazy.. i would just make sure me and all the ppl i know would never buy their games again.

I really doubt that EA will give DA team so much of a development time again. Engine upgrade is mostly done, so I think we will see next DA in 2 or 3 years tops. (Maybe later if they are working on awakening-like expansion)

Dude, you have to understand that digital content isn't real, and as such it's silly to think that consumers should have the same rights as people buying physical goods.

An asbolute boatload of companies that introduce anti-pirating (DRM) code would like a word with you.

Taking for granted the future patch that hopefully settle the game in many of its parts, would you pay for an improved edition of the game maybe a year from now?

Where perhaps there may be new opportunities for choices of gameplay, an addition of dialogues, new spells, new classes, new romance, new quests.

The work done on the DAI does not deserve support for at least another year and a half, to make it a memorable game for Bioware?

Assuming for a new Dragon Age we should wait at least another 4-5 years, if not more so given that there will also be the new Mass Effect in the meantime.

What do you think ???

Bioware has several studios and different teams. Two completely separate teams focus on Dragon Age and Mass Effect exclusively. They have two or thee separate studios, each one dedicated to one game franchise.

Modern devs and publishers love guys/girls such as the OP.  They could release **** on a stick and some people would still throw cash their way.

Next people will be happy paying for difficulty sliders.

disclaimer:  i LIKE DA:I and think they did a fantastic job overall.. just the tactics cam is terrible and is not what we were promised.

that being said.. this has to be the stupidest comment ive ever read on the BSN..

Not paying.

They delayed the release for enhanced edition and we already got it.

Now their vision and customers vision what enhanced means differ. Not my problem. No buy.

Nope.

Simple reason is that any such updates, even substantial ones such as you're suggesting should be available to early adopters as DLC and Expansions. I don't object to paying, as long as it's worth it, but only if the price is reasonable, the content of great quality, and I can get it as DLC. I bought my copy digitally, there should be no reason at all for me to have to buy the entire game again, just to get some DLC.

No, if we get any kind of edition, it will probably be a game of the year edition that includes all DLC in the future. I would consider paying for good quality DLC that adds more content (expansions) and story to the game. While I do feel the armor variety is lacking in the game, I don't want a flood of armor packs like they did in DA2. I'd hate to see them just give up and not feel it's worth the money and effort because I love the game enough to want to play new content.

my wife and I pre-ordered this game< I know slap us now>..on the pretext that it would be available to play a day in advance 'cause yaknow..that's what the add said.

so I go to DL it and play...nope..not available until this date..wth...so I check online..after half an hour of hunting through a ton of marketing and advertising for the game..i come across this line that says..."if you have an all access account"...and guess what people..its only for console players....so that would be an absolute NO!!

Im tired of supporting companies that no longer recall that PCs were here first..we're the driving force behind gaming..we spend outrageous amounts of $$ on systems and games and we know how to use more than 8 buttons

Bioware is owned by one of the devils of the videogame industry, they will never do what CDPR does. The best we'll get from them is free multiplayer DLC.

So you didn't research and are now mad at bioware?

The entitlement is strong in this thread. The game doesn't need an enhanced edition lmao...nor should it be provided free when they have already provided a massive game that outside of the vocal BSN minority people are enjoying. Do you think they're going to release a free enhanced edition for the 5% of gamers who are so enraged by the game that they honestly think they deserve one?

Haha. Ha.

Bioware is selfish now for not releasing a theoretical free enhanced edition.....I used to laugh when politicians would talk about entitlement...they should have been referencing gamers.

Would I buy an ultimate edition? Probably under the premise that I hadn't already gotten the DLC. I am enjoying the game.

I have no idea why people always choose to lay all the blame with the devs and publishers.  Both are businesses and as such, they're out to make a quick buck or 2.  The real blame lies with those consumers that buy into this practice.  After all, no demand, no rip off dlc.

Not only that, there's many, many consumers out there that actually defend this practice.  Attempt to justify it by using inane pizza etc analogies, whilst completely missing the entire point.

Not likely no. Bioware has forgotten that narrative consequence-laden choice in RPGs is important. The ride was fun, but it wasn't my ride - we all pretty much had the same ride. An enhanced edition wouldn't be able to change the structure of the plot missions and their (lack of) consequences. It would be like playing Darksiders again - i.e. you don't do it for the story, which for me, is the primary reason to but a roleplaying game.

You mustn't get through many RPGs.  Some of the best RPG's ever released have lacked any real story or narrative.

I would love to see a best RPG ever that lacks real story or narrative.

theres an old saying that goes "I used to have one of those...the wheels fell off..it still runs tho " People are talking about entitlement, its not about that at all..it about spending money on a product that has been deemed usable by the consumer. If it was a car..it would be recalled and the manufacturer would be expected to pay the cost of the repairs. If that means remodelling parts so they work as claimed in the beginning so be it.

I have just finished my first playthrough of this game...and overall..its very good...tho I did run into a lot of the things that folks have been raging about. In respect to the fact that the game hasn't even been out a month, im aware that patches for certain things might be delayed especially since its close to the holiday season. Putting all that aside...Any MMO or large  scale RPG that I have played at launch was on ANYTHING that might cause bad reviews or lose a player base..Bioware dropped the ball there or got caught short on people to handle the influx of problems. Either way it doesn't look good. Im not sure if the teams at BW are actually paying attention to what we all have to say on what matters we might have concerns over in this game or any other they might put out in the future or if Big Brother EA is just telling them to throw some water on the fire and if it smolders for a bit don't worry about it..itll blow over

Not a chance. I paid $70 for a game I can't even walk around in. I highly doubt I'll ever buy any Bioware games again, let alone this one.

Nah.  They'll make more money on DA4, so I'd rather they work on that.  Expansion packs for Antiva, Nevarra, and Tevinter I could dig, but in fairness those are fodder for sequels.

why do you even make this post where especially the only point that came across is about how much more money we ought to spend to get this game in a finished state.
