For those having troubles with 2 handed warriors lvl 1 - 10

Ok, so i don't know if this has been posted yet, but this combo is pretty insane at low levels. Get a mage (Solas, as you can get a technique book pretty soon with him) as soon as possible to static cage, your warrior should have bullrush + heavy blow upgraded also, you shouldn't have any problem getting this early.

 

Well, first you need to pull the guys, if you can help it, make them come to a choke point. When lined up you calculate how far your knockback will send them back, to place the static cage so they would go outside. Place static cage there, then you bull rush so they will get knocked down and paralyzed, then you heavy blow which will detonate for insane numbers.

 

That way you will just cruise through content.

 

Also, use a sword or an axe.

I also use this... Also once you get the fade touched obsidian the game goes into easy mode..guard for every enemy hit it's insane.

I'm working on a 2h Templar tank no sns on hard difficulty and it has taken some time will post build soon

This is an odd question, but can you get guard on a Mage if you place that effect on your Mage armor? I ask because the Templar Focus skill gives everyone in the party Guard regardless of their class.

Well, yeah, Static Cage makes everything better. :)

 

That's why I've sworn off using it for my 2h tank nightmare playthrough.  Static Cage is just ridiculous.  This is a fun synergy for a while though... till you realize just how broken it is.

Yes, it works with every class. If you hit you receive +guard. If you have AOE attacks, however, it naturally builds up much faster.

Btw same values don't stack, but different ones do. So you can put +5 guard on an item and +3 on another to have +8 guard, for example. You can either go +10 guard with +5 + 3 and +2.

Nice! Good to know. Man... my Knight Enchanter is already great, but adding Guard to her already insane Barrier should be fun. Thanks for the info <3

Here's a bunch of exploits (that completely breaks gear and level progression) you could do:

 

After prologue, do some requisition quests to get 12 power, unlock Fallow Mire and Oasis (the latter may need you to have the shard collection quest)

 

Near the first camp in Fallow Mire is a dead body that has Masterwork Engraved Greatsword schematic, you only need to get past one level 8 rift to get to it, which is pretty easy even at level 4~5. Oasis has a cluster of Paragon Luster nodes near the second camp. A few mining trips will yield you a T2 masterwork weapon with 195 DPS (173 AOE dmg) at the start of the game.

 

Going around with your OP gear and collect some shards, go and unlock all 3 Frost door in Oasis Temple, the last room has potentially unlimited amount of Amulet of Power for your inquisitard, and a treasure chest that spawns T3 masterwork schematics.

I have a question about Mighty Blow. In the description it says Damage: 200% WD, and Bonus Damage: 200% Damage (Talking about the unupgraded version).

 

Does anyone know when this bonus damage gets applied? When the enemy is damaged while lying on the ground after Mighty Blow? Is it 200% WD or 200% damage of any attack/skill?

Assuming that prior to Mighty Blow the target wasn't knocked down, the bonus does not apply. Assuming that the target was knocked down before Mighty Blow by eg. Charging Bull, then the damage does apply to Mighty Blow. Again, the damage bonus applies only to Mighty Blow. 

 

As for an example where you do more damage with any attack to any target that's been knocked down by whomever, take a look at Coup the Grace from the Battlemaster tree.

That is the description of the upgrade, Easy Target. I'm talking about the unupgraded skill description, Mighty Blow.

I never actually tested this... but will double energy barrage build guard for each projectile? 24x3 = 72 guard per combo.

Whereabouts can I find  fade touched obsidian ? My 2h is now lvl 13 and seems to get more squishy as I lvl up.

Remove any kind of offensive/aggressive statement there, to just realize that there is people willing to handicap themselves because they find something unethical or immoral.

 

On a singleplayer videogame, this is obviously completely subjective while you are using game mechanics as intended.

 

This combo doesn't make content trivial (well, except when you spot them bunched up already), but i think it is just fine use of game mechanics, and it certainly makes 2handed warriors quite awesome.

Fade touched obsidian is I think in the locked house in redwall, near the inn. If you only take the obsidian and leave the gold, and walk into the inn and back it refreshes and you can get as many ft obsidian as you like
