The funny thing is that Cory killed himself in my game -- with at least 40 percent of his health bar left. He just rushed down the cliff at some point.

The fight with Cory at the end was rather lame because it was so awfully easy and didn't really invent anything interesting. It was just pew pew pew... Cory dead.. congrats.

A terrifying villain, indeed :)

Was fighting Corypheus any easier or harder than fighting Merideth?  Not really.  I'd say they were both about the same.  Meridith might have been even easier.

I found it really easy on hard with Varric, Viv, Blackwall and my reaver. We were level 19 and I did have a 300+ dps weapon with like 42% extra critical damage. I just dragon raged away at him and used potions rather than devour and he died within 2 minutes.

Varric did succumb to the red laser at one point though.

Thanks. And I mean no disrespect, but ...

Aside from the bug you complained about ineffectual companions and healing potions chugged implying you found it too long/difficult. You complain about fire resistance which is only an issue if you somehow specced nothing but fire skills on your Necromancer. You complain about a melee rouge being at a disadvantage when there's ample opportunity to hit Cory and properly executed a DW rogue will be hitting for about a quarter of his life per burst on Nightmare. It sounds to me that a lot of your complaints revolve around a lack of execution on your part, no?

What the OP really means is "exceptional" boss fights.

Like most combat in the game ends up... Tons of hp, and no danger to you. Incredibly boring.

Bosses especially should actually be dangerous rather than just a sponge to hit, that is what makes them challenging and interesting, not just more hp. Enemies with less health but more damage/moves/better AI!

For me the whole end was hysterically funny. So much over the top drama. "It looks like Corypheus does not want to wait" lol, what do you mean. I could have made him wait for another 20 hours by not clicking this thing on the map.

I was over leveled and over geared.  My inquisitor started to break dance and spin on the floor, Corypheus was not able to touch her mad dance skills. Then Solas managed to get behind a wall that was just tall enough that things couldn't get to him, but he could hit everything.

Best boss battle evar.

Too bad Hawke wasn't there for support like at Adamant and the fade to help defeat Corypheus.

Fighting Cory reminds me when I play League of Legends where ennemies run away anytime I attack them. Fun.

Whatever, Cory was 1000 times better in Legacy than in Inquisition. I understand why he has a dragon now. Poor him.

I thought the fight was okay. I ran the same stuff I always did with two barrier-buffing mages, a tank, and an archer for damage. It took a while, but the dragon fight in the middle broke things up nicely.

What I was not happy with was the story set around the fight. I just show up there with three dudes and the fight starts. That's it. At the end of such a long game with so many epic and wonderful story moments, it was incredibly disappointing. How about Corypheus maybe tries talking first and maybe makes a halfway decent argument for how his world might be better? How about instead of going to him, he actually attacks Skyhold and we need to use all the resources at our fort to ground him before we can fight him? There was just nothing there but the fight itself.

I would gladly have them cut the Hissing Wastes, Fallow Mire, or Emprise du Lion (okay, minus the dragons) for a better final chapter.

People had difficulties with the Corypheus fight? I mowed him down with my Assassin despite being pretty underleveled.

I am confused... How is a giant terminator with a huge health bar so much better? The suicide mission was fun yes. The final boss fight though... was so much better? I absolutely hated it. Perhaps the Collectors flying down to do the Jesus pose made it better?

The fight itself was very simple I agree. Not long or infinite as made to be. Better than shooting a draufflo 30+ times with an arrow... I can not comment on the companions and their roles as they did quite fine in my playthrough. You do realize you can control your party? Hold positions as well?

Or perhaps I should have shot him a single time to watch him fall and than transform? Only to be dominated by magical powers?
Rouge Assassin dual blade crafted weapons and armor. I didn't even realize what the red stuff was until I stood still in front and underneath him to allow him to hit me with it... The dragons fighting was awesome. Killing the dragon myself even better.

Imo with the game being so big we expected more from the final mission. I can agree to that. I think he should of had a legion of darkspawn and demons fighting along side him as well. As well there should have been some intentional missions made for your inquisition after the final fight. It is like the game just ends. Interaction with companions is very limited and Solas stole all my higher end mage items.

No conversation between the two also made sense. You had already spoiled his plans on more than one occasion. What else is left to say. He wants to become a God and control the world. Do we really need this repeated a multitude of times as it already had been?

Cassandra states you have yet to fight him one on one, but you would get your chance. At this point in the game that is all that is left. The final fight between the two would be gods. Do boxers and ufc fighters have in depth convos as they enter the ring? Or is all of that handled before the fight as it was in inquisition?

I love DD but, disagree every time I climbed onto a dragon, cyclops etc, I always wondered why don't they just stop drop and roll a 10 ton dragon rolling over on you would be a bad day lol. :-) With that said I love boss fights some people like the idea of talking the big bad down ala ME 1 but I don't Cory made a choice, he is obviously committed to his plan, beliefs I would of been disappointed if I was able to just go " Hey Cell oh, I mean Cory don't blow up the planet " and make him see the error of his ways.

Which is worse the Cory fight or Ancient Rock Wraith from DA:2?

I wish that was what we actually got. "Woops!" Cory falls and crack his skull open.

Well it's a giant terminator with a fuckton of build up, that's what makes it cool. With Cory you just fight him and that's that. Although, I agree, the terminator battle itself is dull. The problem with the final Cory battle is that it is just that. One battle, nothing more.

To me that was easily the worst part of the game. I'm not sure how they could look at that ending and boss fight and think 'yep, let's go with this'.

The fight itself was incredibly boring. Not hard, but incredibly tedious. But what really annoyed me was that the story surrounding it was ****.

In both DA:O and DA2 you were allowed a moment with your companions before the final battle, and you could give them a speech. It makes sense, you all might die and you've had a long journey together. Why would the devs think it was a good idea to cut that out? You didn't even get real cutscenes for the companions during the celebration afterwards.

I felt kind of hollow after that.

But, that's exactly how it should be. Everything he has plotted and worked for is gone now his only purpose is to destroy you.

You can still make that interesting. As it stands it's just a lackluster showdown. I wish they had been thrown into the fade again or something, stand outside the Black City and stop Cory from reaching it or something.
