A couple of days ago I completed origins on the save I thought was going to be my imported save to Dragon age 2 but after it was all done. I well... was just disappointed with my character. they were a bit conflicted and confused in there personality and so I made some decisions that didn't quite make sense but the worst thing is I want to change the origin.

Would you even think doing this again is feasible? I keep on getting this returning urge to do it the right way but I just can't keep myself there for more than 10-20 minutes.

any tips for doing this? I don't like creating a save from a "import save editor" as they miss out a lot of stuff I want my character to do and I feel almost no connection to them which I find quite important.

I guess what I;m trying to say is: HELP MEEEE

so what your saying is that you do not want to play the origins over again?

I guess that depends on you.

Are you unhappy with the decisions your character made, or just the logic behind them? Because if it's just the logic behind them but you're still happy with your character's overall decisions, I'd just headcanon that she made them for different reasons and let it import for DA2.

However, If you're really unhappy with your saves, I guess it depends on whether you consider playing for a few dozens hours worth the fix.

Personally, I used to restart all the time over the smallest imperfections. Didn't like my character's response to one NPC a few hours back, wasn't satisfied with how my character responded to one dialogue choice in the whole conversation with a family member in the origin, etc. (I once got as far as Orzammar - my last major quest just before calling the Landsmeet) before I realized my character's chin was hideous and I restarted the entire game just for that.) As a result, I restarted and replayed the bulk of the game so many times that now I'm absolutely sick of the game. Almost every line of dialogue, dialogue choices, quests (major and minor), etc. are permanently etched into my brain, and playing the game is frightfully dull because they all say and do things I've seen dozens of times.

If you are not absolutely sick of the game and/or you do not find the prospect of replaying the game too daunting (and/or you intend to make different enough choices so it's not like you're replaying the exact same game practically quest or quest, dialogue for dialogue) I'd say go ahead and try again.

Oh my yes I know that feeling all to well, I've played the origins, ostagar, lothering and all the army gathering quests so many time it's become very tired. only played the landsmeet 2-3 times so I think I'd be okay if I get to there but that's only a third of the game at best. I can make it faster by skipping conversations, playing on easy and using skip ostagar/fade mods but then what am I really doing? Doing some very simple, long and downright boring combat and and just picking a number each time even if I could get through that as I said earlier I feel almost no connection to the character.

Personally I would vote for a replay.

I am going to start over myself, actually, because the original plan I had for Inquisition feels so far off now. I just don't remember the experience from the Origins/Awakening/DA 2 and downloadable contents strongly enough for me to justify using them. So I am going to churn it through to have the whole experience new and fresh in my head.

I guess in the end though that it also comes down to how much you like the game and what replay value you feel it have. I feel Origins still, today, have replay value - either it be achievementhunting, higher difficulties, doing things different and what not. How hard did you roleplay your character? Perhaps that can serve as motivation otherwise, simply increase the level of roleplay if possible. Changing the origin as you mentioned I would say is probably the best motivation for a replay regardless, especially if it comes to a background story you have not yet played.

Looking at what Faerunner wrote I have to agree with that a bit aswell since I too have replayed (or restarted) enough to, more or less, remember everything in Origins. A few areas will most likely become extremely dull, or other, to get through, so be prepared for that.

I don't know if any of this actually help you but there it is, at least.

If you are skipping the Fade, you may as well skip all the combat, too. (Kill entire armies, high dragons, and archdemons with one click!)

If I were you, though, I'd just use a save generator and move on... gaming is supposed to be fun, isn't it? DA:O can't be much of that for someone who dislikes both the combat and the story aspects of the game.

I didn't really say that, I love the story, bit generic but it just does an already done routine very well. The main thing is as the old saying goes there is too much of a good thing you wouldn't read a book straight after finishing the last page.

On the combat I was saying this in terms of easy. I mean come it's too easy basically mmo esque. Now on nightmare i felt it was much more engaging an strategical where a bunch of skeleton could give you trouble if you just messed up a little bit.

Just the way you say this makes it seem I want to get Da;O gone out of the way so I can finally play Da2 when eek I'm not looking too fondly on returning to that. I just wanted a "perfect" playthrough so I can look at all my save games and have a legacy that I know my Thedas is the way I wanted it.

Have you heard of Dragon Age Keep? It has the whole DAO and DA2 gameplay timeline right in front of you, with all major quest and companion and romance outcomes, which you can customize to your liking. It's connected to your EA/BioWare online account (I use the same email and password I use to log into the BSN), so you can upload the save file of your Warden and Hawke. (I've got my Warden on my DA Keep). You can see your entire Thedas legacy right in front of you. =)

Well, personally if you aren't enjoying Dragon Age at the moment I suggest you take a break and play another series for awhile in order to avoid burnout.

Also I recommend making whatever plot choices your character would while keeping metagaming completely out of it, you'll probably enjoy the game more and end up with a world that feels more "organic" then trying to shoehorn your choices to a certain outcome in upcoming games. (Besides, let's face it, no matter what you choose the end result is going to be minor and cosmetic in nature due to limitations in computing power. Epilogue cut screens be damned.)
