You're basically a jedi in almost every aspect. And that's even ignoring the fact that you wield a blade made of energy.

There's the title. Seeing as how a common title for ones who use magic is "Enchanter", the title "Knight" just makes it one big parallel.

The knight enchanter uses a weapon that is only used by those of their order, and it is pretty much the symbol of their order.

As part of your training to become a knight enchanter, you must craft your weapon yourself.

You deflect ranged attacks and send them right back to those who attack you from a distance.

As a star wars nerd, I really like this little bit of reference by bioware. As a player who loves playing melee mages, the class is perfect. Overall neat stuff.

I really wish the Knight Enchanter could have summoned a permenant weapon instead of materializing one temporarily for one attack at a time. It feels weird to have a staff, but then swing a magic blade. Half of the coolness of a sword is to have it strapped at your side.

Blade + Staff made me feel like Gandalf, pretty awesome feeling, Unfortunately KE is a little Overpowered.

It's not as overpowered as you'd think, but it is extremely strong. With all your damaging attacks filling up your barrier, a KE with a strong Spirit tree is extremely potent. Survivable at range, but a beast in melee. No taunt abilities directly, so tanking isn't quite an option.

On the other hand, you do have to get into melee range for your really hard-hitting attack. Sometimes that's difficult.

You can do that, just add a fire rune to your 2 hander.

The idea crossed my mind.

Although I agree that I wish I could have summoned a permanent sword. It would have allowed for a bit more use of the other abilities rather than just spamming Spirit Blade 90% of the time to never die.

The ability that restores 30% of done damage as a barrier is what's overpowered.

Without that skill, Knight Enchanter would be average.
