I looked through a majority of the posts and didn't see one that related to this. I load all the way through the pre-rendered video and get right to the part where you can finally control the main character and I freeze. It will studders and then pops back in with degraded, choppy graphics.
I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285
4 gigs of ram
Windows XP 64bit
I did notice that Mass Effect 1 is acting the same way. I've tried going back to the last version of drivers that I had as I just updated with no luck. I even did as another post suggested and set it to run on only one core through the processes with no luck.
I would appreciate any help you folks can give me cause I really just want to play this game heh.

I have a problem very similar. I've tried everything i could think of and have even created a forum for it which has now fallen to page 2. Here's the link.

I click start new game or even try to load my Mass Effect 1 save and the first loading screen that pops up it freezes. I even tried the troubleshooting others suggested and nothing has changed. It still freezes up at the loading screen. Music still played but it's frozen at the loading screen. Think it might be best to post there, that way the developers all have a singlethread they can look at and troubleshoot from.
