So funny, instead of adding to DAO they tried to fix DA2, maybe because DA2 was under EAs banner but still manage to mess up.

Maybe we gonna get a DA game after 20 patches and 12 DLCs

Fixing DA2 should not have been the direction. Building on the success that was Origins (leading sales) should have been the obvious choice. It's EA dude, worst company in the world twice voted. What can we honestly expect?

I know ORTesc, EA being EA, getting good stuff out of them, a rarity.

I dont hate the game or anything, I would like to play it, I would like to appreciate it but just not possible.

When expanding a universe, stuff should not be removed, it is supposed to add to it.

I am very aware it is impossible to please everyone but BioWare had a good fundation to start with and they really mess it up with DA2, DAI is a step in the good direction, its just a step.

There is good things about the game, but still not enough to justify 70 bucks.

After being very disappointed at release and not long ago making another shot, I still cant force myself playing. Its just not fun. Bioware dropped the ball how to create epic and fun RPGs. Main issues:

-MMOish gameplay with tons of stupid boring quests and time sinks, respawning mobs.

-Terrible combat. Worst in DA series.

-New healing mechanics was failed experiment, removing alot of tactical depth in combat.

-Terrible looting. Slow, clunky, not much fun items to find.

-World doesnt feel real. Just theme park type filled with random chests, places and puzzles. Its not a living breathing world.

-Progression is lucklaster. I didnt like skill trees - lots of boring passives, not enough cool abilities, some skills would fit more in other trees and other issues I could list in detail if had desire.

-UI is meh.

Thats just to name a few.

S/he is not speaking with my voice, so no. Personally I have no problems with the one I chose, but couldn´t stand mHawke´s pitiful attempts at sounding badass back in II, so I can understand the OP.

It matters not. There is a limit how much a pc can say. Despite that you can say what you feel about the event on hand. This game goes out of the way to do that. It's still in the hands of the player how exciting the main character is going to be in games like this.

1. DA always played like an off line mmo.

2. Terrible combat. This is the best combat so far in the series. The casually made the warrior class exciting to play finally.

3. Loading is the issue of your machine as others have pointed out.

4. As big as it is with all the activity the world feels real enough.

You do understand the vast majority did not like the combat in DAO as well. Right?

Have you played the game? DAI has no combat issues. UI, sure but combat, nope.

My thoughts on DAI, it somehow feels like DA2 2.0 (you side with the mages, you can't...). It also feels like ME3 the recruit and gather forces before hell breaks loose..I can only speculate if ppl who rushed through DAI will suffer simular fate as you get in ME2..Again this manage your castle sim was already done in NWN2 i give this game 7/10 i had a fun ride for a complete playthrough.replay value is so so.

Well i'm very glad my thread actually managed to create some intelligent discussion and for me to get a chance to gauge some diverse opinion. To throw in my ten cents on things that have been brought up I would say...

1) I agree that the combat is better, the frame rate on the 360 could get a bit stuttery but overall I prefer the more slowed out combat to the arcadelike Dragon Age II

2) A 6/10 for me is not a bad rating. I would say it is what it says... above average, for me a 7 is then really good, 8 great, 9 astounding, and 10 is absolutely mindblowing, so far I think only Mass Effect has made it to that level on my personal chart aha

3) Totally agree with the whole castle thing being like NWN2 only that's not a problem for me, except I think NWN2 (Neverwinter Nights 2 for those who impossibly don't know) handled it better (also if you haven't played it I would recommend you buy it now, it is still a class game to play.

4) Completely agree that taking away things is not good, only stuff should be added, I understand theres a line between what's sacrificed and what's added but to quote my paragon Commander Shepard Bioware "sacrificed too much"

5) To those that have commented on how the majority of my issues are based on playing on last gen consoles, I would say yeah you've probably hit the nail on the head. However when I cough up on a game that's not that cheap I expect those kind of issues to not be a problem. If I had my time over I would have got the PC version which probably would have lifted the review to about a 7/7.5 but unfortunately at the time I was not aware of the Keep system of importing so wanted to keep all my choices.

Despite the fact that the game wasn't quite the revelation I was hoping for I'll certainly be playing through it again at some point, maybe even all 3 games come to think of it, thanks everyone for your comments and opinions on this thread and feel free to keep em coming. :)

I can see where the main character tended to be boring when I had her say the 'right" things, but any time I'd try to joke around with people, they'd get pissed off. Like Dorian gets mad when I don't fawn over him and try to be a little sarcastic back to him in a friendly way. Really Dorian?! You like telling Solas he dresses like a hobo but you can't take a little friendly ribbing yourself when you're going on about how great a looker you are?

Anyway. So there is that.

Besides the haircuts from hell, I will say that the loot was really disappointing. Does it get any better if you go to more difficult levels of pt? I barely got any high end loot or schematics. I couldn't earn a lot of coin either. Not sure what I wasn't doing. 100 gold a pop on the War table and the bits and things I would sell off. Didn't amount to much.

Combat - liked DA2 best.....actually, would have preferred better combo of DAO and DA2 for DAI
Map/World - DAI.....really stunning but under utilized
Character - hate to say it, but DA2.....voiced main for DAO would have taken the win, but just felt DAI main was too isolated from team. Liked how Hawke was integrated with team in DA2
Story - DAO....when I closed the breach at Haven and then Cory came in.......well, kind of lost me
Ending - DAO.....imo, best ever....Allistar's rallying of the people, using troops you had collected, who would kill the archdemon, choosing who would accompany you....most epic ending ever for me

Had great hopes for DAI, is a fun game, but still best, imo, DAO

DAI is tie with DA2...fun, not epic

A very strong comeback after DA2, but the game is rather unfocused as to what it wants to do. Quantity doesn't equal quallity.
