Since I haven't bought the game yet, I'm curious to find out how good that DLC was and if I really missed out or it's not that hard to get equal or better stuff with a little adventuring.

Armor wise, I've found it pretty much unbeatable by any other armor, though not by a huge amount - I certainly wouldn't call it game changing to any far extent, and I'm considering 'ignoring' them on my second play through, as it kinda takes away from some of the strategic management of the game, guessing that any armor or schematics that I acquire will probably be just slightly lagging behind it, and being right each time.

Weapons wise, meh.

The initial items you get are meh. You unlock progressively better versions of them (T2 and T3) as craftable schematics as the game goes on, and they are good statwise.

I think they're ugly as sin. YMMV.

I second that, they are very ugly.

They're ok. And that's good. Item DLC shouldn't be bonkers. Just peeper in and make things interesting.

I kind of like the way the armor and weapons turned out. They are a nice boost in the beginning but they aren't something that outclasses other things all the way through the game. I always feel like I hang on to DLC gear too long and it takes away from looting but it didn't here. The stuff you craft later on is good statwise and I like that you can customize it. But yeah, very ugly.

I only got weapons schematics about half way through the game. Never got initial sets, or armor schematics. Very disappointing. I do like the daggers though. Haven't tried anything else.

I don't remember the exact mission milestone, but the weapon and armor schematics should be in the special delivery chest in the undercroft.

I like them early game. It has a gaudy look so it depends on the character. My Sword and Shield qunari looked okay but I didn't like them on my Archer or any other characters I made.

Are you kidding me? they are far from the best in slot or even the top 3 best in slot items. Unless you like their look (I found them pale to be honest) they are terrible... They do not level with your level, you recieve those schematic way to late in game, and literally do not worth the extra money Bioware/EA want us to pay.

Here's a quick comparison:

Superb Heavy armor of the Dragon

Armor: 250 max (17 metal)

Utility: 12 Metal

Defense: 8 leather and cloth

1 Master piece and NO Augment SLOT

2nd BiS armor: Superior Battlemaster Armor (obtainable from a merchant in Hissle Waste or save scaming)

Armor: 309max (21 metal)

Utility slot: 6 Metal

Defense slot 4 Leather x2

1 Masterpiece slot, and 2 augment slot AND better looking

Weapon:

Superb Sword of the Dragon:

Max DPS 236

Offence" 12 cloth and 6 metal

No augment slot

BiS Anderfels Cleaver:

289 max DPS

Offence: 8+6  Metal

Utility 6 cloth

2 augment slot

PS: They are worst than some trash item lootable on random mobs...

I didn't like the look of them. Wore them for a little bit, but switched to other armors and weapons as soon as I had some other options.

Bioware didn't make you pay for anything. A lot of people got them free as preorder bonuses. And the Deluxe Edition brings other items, one of which is the soundtrack which on iTunes sells for more than the $10 extra you pay for the deluxe.

Good safety net in case you don't get decent drops or do quests "in the wrong order".

i don't like the look of the armor mostly because it always looks the same no matter what tier or class you are.

Has the OP preorder the game? No.

The only way for him to get the inquisitor armor and flame weapon is to pay a premium price to EA/BW to get those in game item that are not worth a dime. Plus, he did not seems to care about all the "extra goodies".

Worth is relative. Don't preach X is worthless like it is a fact.

Also, you're making a big assumption that the OP cares for the other items or not. You can't buy the weapons alone so individual value of them isn't as important as your value of the whole.

The package has at one item you can buy alone: the soundtrack. And it's sold for $13 digitally on iTunes (fact). The Deluxe is $10 more that the regular game(fact). Seems like a fair deal (opinion)

read my first post properly, and stop trolling.

Edit: Didn't see your full reply, but bear in mind that peoples are not mindless buyers. If he made a thread specifically for the weapon and armor, don't reply by saying that the sound track are great...

I've already stated that if he's not into the look of those weapon/armor, and isn't interested in anything else, no the deluxe pack isn't worth the 10$ in MY opinion.

If you differ good for you, but don't try convert someone that doesn't share your opinion.

and literally do not worth the extra money Bioware/EA want us to pay.

So first you say it's literally not "worth" the price as a fact, but then you do a 180 and say "well that's just my opinion". Very legitimate. And no, you never stated that if he's not into the look, then it isn't worth it. All you did was say, "Not worth the price" while assuming that the weapons/armor are all the OP cares about. Only now have you begun to use words like "if", because in truth you don't really know exactly what the OP wants/cares about, none of us do.

stop trolling, don't try convert, etc....

Uh, what? Ace did neither of those things in the bit you quoted. Discussion is not synonymous with attempted conversion. The discussion is about whether or not the Deluxe edition is worth the price, and all Ace did was bring in several factors that may or may not apply (the soundtrack), and gave his opinion on the worthiness of the pack. Until now, all you've done is preach your opinion on the pack's worthiness as fact.

Absolutely not worth it, worst deluxe edition rewards they've ever done. The armor looks awful, far too bulky, the weapons are OK but not worth the extra cost.

The $10 is more for the soundtrack, not so much the weapons.
