Lol at the mentality of some posters here.
The accusations that Blackwall get basically amount to the real world accusation of :- "He's a creep !" That is the argument typically used by women who just hate some guy but cannot actually pinpoint why, it is the argument of "I am insecure but that's okay !".
As for Blackwall fantasizing about Josephine, I find it odd that people here speak as if no one else has not fantasized about anyone else and how they would look without clothes and what have you. Remember, Cole gets in your head and tells the whole wide world what you are thinking because he is a spirit. Sentient creatures who are not spirits have the ability of imagining and fantasizing and choosing not to act on it. Iron Bull fantasizes about Cassandra's and her armor, this is seen in some banter. No one is against that. Iron Bull fantasizes about having non consensual sex with Dorian in some of the party banter but no one has any issues with that. Talk about hypocrisy.
As for the notion that Blackwall and Josephine makes absolutely no sense at all, the same can be said for a Qunari Inquisitor romancing non Qunaris or Dalish Inquisitors who were brought up in isolation romancing non Dalish and non Elves or nonreligious Inquisitors ending up romancing Cassandra. You can even apply that to other Dragon Age games as well. Why would a Dwarf Noble or a Dalish Hunter romance an elven assassin who tried to kill them or a religious bard or a Witch of the Wilds ? Where is the compatibility there ? Where is the supposed chemistry there ? Or even Cullen and Amell in DAO, people love to fantasize about this right ? Where is the compatibility between the two exactly ?
What is that saying ? The heart wants what the heart wants, even that which is worst or best for it. We get sexually attracted to those what we find sexually appealing and have fantasies about them. This is perfectly normal. It just so happens that different people have different standards for sexual attraction. For instance, I value intellectual compatibility and fitness as the criteria that defines how sexually attracted I am to someone. Not pleasant demeanor or cuteness or what have you, which someone else might value.
As for the notion of being unable to enjoy the romance arc, do people assume that these characters live in a vacuum world where no one else might be attracted to the same people that their playable characters are attracted to ? That is like saying you expect people in real life to be this pure untouched or unexposed creature, which is just weird.
Sigh...
