Am I the only one that was seriously disappointed by the LI choices in this DA? As a heterosexual male, I play a heterosexual male character on my first playthorugh almost always. I was totally put off by the fact that you have to choose between Cassandra, the hard-exterior typical "brute" female character and Josephine, the rich upper-class snob, if you are trying to pursue a heterosexual male LI. Literally nothing in the middle to choose from. It seems other sexual orientations are more fleshed out in terms of their options, which is awesome for the LGBT community, but kinda left me feeling a bit out in the cold. I plan on playing through a couple more times, but still I was surprised by the lack of choices.
It feels like Harding should have been that 3rd option for people who found Cassandra and Josephine not to their liking. It is RIDICULOUS that they left the flirt options in the game for her and you can't have it amount to anything. I purposely stopped engaging the other characters in hopes it would change that outcome but it had the same result.
I don't understand the decision to leave her in with all the flirt options intact yet not allow the romance to happen. It stinks of last minute gameplay changes and I'd love to understand why it was removed if that is truly what happened. If they are going to release her as a party member and LI in a DLC then that is fine, but why leave the prompts for her to say they will talk after the war and then have nothing come of it in the first place? They should have left it out entirely.
You're not . . as a female who prefers female company, I can see where you're coming from. We got the polite and nice Josephine or Sera, the lady-child. Even if Cassandra was bisexual I wouldn't be interested either, she is too masculine. People can scream about male gamers being whiny bitches about the romances, but they really are surprisingly limited. You either have to like overly nice and polite to the point of boring or brutish and masculine, there's no in-between. This is probably due to the companions having their defining characteristic being overemphasized (Blackwall excluded). DA:O companions had a subtlety about them that made all of them likable and relatable on some level.
Edit: Who is Sutherland? I feel like I should know his name, but I can't place him.
