Ok, from what I can tell there are definitely some quests that are only available for one of the sides you pick before 'in your heart shall burn'. It was a great surprise to me, however, to find out that one of the sides seem to have significantly  much more of a  specific character related content.

And not just 'character', but a potential LI. I'm talking about Cullen on siding with the Mages here. A friend of mine plays as a human-mage and had picked Mages, while I'd chosen Templars (human rogue), and she seem to have some sort of big quest with him, while I only had brief 'table' missions for the Red Templars in Green Graves. Bothof us  have the ongoing romance on the same stage (the lake scene)

 I'm past Adamant and the only areas I'm yet to explore are Exalted plains &duLion + 'wicked eyes..'

 

 

Could anyone please answer - is that really so? Or does 'the other side' has something similar and for that same character later on in game? I have not finished yet, so I don't need any details, just a simple yes\no.

 

There's also a slight chance that those quests actually depend not on the choice, but on the class (mage\non-mage)...but that'd be really strange.

That's the 'nemesis quest' - Cullen gives you a quest if you side with the mages, Leliana a different one if you side with the templars.
