This wiki has a listing for the Inquisitor's Helm schematics:
http://dragonage3.wi...sitor Schematic
It's apparently tier 2. Anyone know the best places to farm tier 2 schematics? I've had some luck with Tier 2 schems in the southeast portion of The Fallow Mire in a chest next to a windmill or a lighthouse, but I've never gotten the Inquisitor's Helm.

Yeah the Inquisitor Helm drops off one of the dragons. A look alike schematic may exist, which wouldn't be bad. As long as you can upgrade stats on it. I haven't crafted any headgear. Been using rare and unique items mostly. Armor is the only thing I like to craft. Weapons are hard to beat stats of drops. Better to upgrade the good stuff you get from time to time.
Best helm for warrior is the one that drops off final dragon in Emprise De Lion. Looks cool too.

I got the schematic (marked as tier 2 warrior) from a chest in Crestwood, near the dam I believe.
The helmet itself dropped from the dragon in Emerald Graves.

I've been save scumming the chest in haven near Cassandra for literally a day now, only pursue this schematic if you've got time to kill. Why didn't they made the game's ICONIC HELMET a guaranteed drop?
By the time I finally got the schematic I was so full of resentment I didn't feel like playing the game for days. Acquiring the schematic didn't feel like an accomplishment or a stroke of good luck. It just felt like a chore. The loot system in this game is unforgiving and frustrating, and it seriously detracts from the fun. I have no problem with random loot in theory, but iconic items and the accompanying schematics should be exempt from the randomness. Even if you have to pay exorbitant sums (I happily dropped over 8,000 gold apiece on several Hissing Waste vendor schematics), it would be preferable to saving and reloading endlessly.

I shouldn't have to save farm every chest I see in hopes to get this schematic, it's a chore I don't feel any sense of accomplishment whenI have to save & load farm every chest I see in hopes I'd get this I did the same for the dwarven longsword schematic and I feel completely aggravated that the gear for my play style are so hard to get!
I've done 3 play throughs and have yet to even see the helms schematic and my second sword and shield characters I spent my entire day off trying to get it! What the hell was bioware thinking

You don't need to save scum every chest, you don't even need to open every chest. When farming schematics there is one simple rule you must follow. That rule is NEVER empty a chest ever, as long as you leave at least one item in the chest the items will either respawn or new items will be added every time you zone and come back. 90% of chests in the game get their items from a leveled pool of items. T1, T2, and T3. Schematics are finite and once you collect one that schematic is removed from the pool. Granted I believe some if not all have 3 variations but once you remove those they are gone.
So this means you need to find a place with a few chests from each tier and just farm them. Once you find a schematic that spawns in a chest with at least one other item, take the schematic and zone, then come back and save and save scum until another schematic spawns with at least one other item.
The best place IMO for this is the vault in Valammar dungeon in the hinterlands. There is a t3 and t2 chest right next to each other and it's really close to the entrance of the dungeon so all you have to do is exit and come back. Best place imo to get schematics early in the game, and thanks to it I was easily able to kill the dragon at level 5 on nightmare(thanks to mostly bad dragon AI, go back by the bridge the mage repairs and the dragon just freezes, then you can kill the dragon quickly by the steps when its frozen spamming the throwing daggers on varric[have to line them up, too far to lock on] FYI there is a skill point amulet for varric in the vault, so max his skills while your at it.). There are also a few t1 chests around and there are a bunch of t1/t2 chests as well as paragon ore and deep mushrooms in the secret room you have to glitch into next to the wooden bridge.(have your character walk up to the wall that looks like a door and when another character is close behind you switch that that character and push your first character forward, you'll see them disappear, then simply switch back and your in the secret room. Also appears to be a codex in there as well.

Got it from the farming chest in the Hinterlands. I feel I need to wash myself after hours of farming. Damn you Bioware for the worst possible loot system.

For me this schematic was available for purchase at the Hissing Wastes merchant, while I was testing the short list perk. Didn't buy it, though, since it's not what I'm after and the testing requires reloading.

Frankly, no schematic should be entirely dependent on random drops. Have it as part of the random loot list, sure. But It should also be available to purchase.
These are schematics, not items. Without them, the crafting system is worthless.

I was wondering why I cant find any of them. What is the point of selling some of the schematics and then leaving the rest to random drops in a singleplayer game? Its not like you can get rich by selling crafted items or even sell them anywhere else but the shop. Why use an mmo'ish loot system? Also what kind of demon possessed them to have the default inquisitor clothes look like grey gilded pajamas?

Honestly, for this schematic, just use the cheat engine method. It's so rare ( 3 playthroughs, got it only once).
Started another warrior playthrough with cheat engine to get some nice schematics from the start and it's much more gratifying.
For such an iconic helmet, you'd think it would be easily gained like through missions or perks. It is, after all, the INQUISITOR's helmet...

Some of us play on consoles, which means that we have no choice but to save scum for endless hours. I just started a new character three days ago, and most of my time has been spent unsuccessfully trying to obtain this schematic. It is the death of fun.

And not a single schematic for the helm of the inquisitor and they are both iconic items.
NOT
ONE
Was Bioware not paying attention to the crap That was flung to Bungie recently?
