Also has anyone been able to contact bioware or bring this to their attention? I hope they are aware of it...

do you have anymore examples of top tier weapons? Yeah it is beyond frustrating that it is left out...you know the one merchant who appears in Skyhold, it was late game for me..the merchant was across from the Orlesian woman who sells some nice things like the dragon killing axe..anyway with the short list perk I was able to reset that vendor a bunch of times and came across some very interesting items, one was a Ferelden Greataxe I believe, which was tier 3..had never seen it before that so part of me still holds out hope it's a rare vendor item with short list perk..like the Griffon Mace..which I never saw during my first play thru

Well as stated neither the MW Tevinter Longsword or the Split Longsword seem to drop. I have yet to see the Lionhead Maul either, nor the Masterwork Mortalitasi staff. While it is always possible they do drop and I am horribly unlucky or they are obtained from some little known quest, my conclusion based on my experience thus far is these schematics do not drop. There might be others as well but these are the ones off the top of my head when comparing to a wiki schematics list.

I am fairly certain these items just do not drop. I have obtained every "rare" tier 3 armor that can be random loot through farming and, in the most recent case of the Superior Battlemaster Coat, dumb luck. I believe I have obtained every "rare" tier 3 weapon attachment that can be obtained through random loot. My point is to say that despite this I have never so much as seen the aforementioned schematics in my playthroughs.

And yes the short list perk adds some awesome schematics. Superior tier 2 coats, superior tier 3 armors, the Griffon Mace, MW Sten Grip, etc etc. It also adds some decent and often cool unique items (usually not as good as custom gear but still). Only downside is it only places like 1 short list item at most in any one shop at a time. Short list items have to be reset farmed as well... bioware seemed determined to force us to farm for everything in this game.

In short Bioware made a great game with the most idiotic loot/shop system they could have and on top of it this system seems plagued by glitches. I mean they went rng crazy, in a single player game... I'm sure they might justify the rng schematic crap as wanting every playthrough to be "unique" but, lets be honest, nobody gives a damn about that, we just want to use the otherwise decent crafting system. Not perfect but decent.

As for being aware of it, I suspect they are. I doubt they care. They will get to bugs like this last after game breakers and crash bugs, if they ever do. If I am being honest their history in regards to patching does not give me much hope and the engine is less mod friendly so unofficial patches may be few and far between. The worst part is, I could legitimately see EA releasing a "Weapon Pack "DLC"" to make us pay for weapon schematics in the base game but unobtainable. And yes the quotes in quotes was needed. I don't find it likely but my opinion of EA is that low considering the DA2 item pack dlc series and their always present microtransactions. But I will stop there before I enter a rant about EA on their forums...

I agree with your points about EA,,,yeah I do not care at all for RNG especially in a single player game..makes absolutely no sense...this just infuriates me..yeah I wouldn't be surprised at all if those weapons you mention get sold as DLC...what's worst is I'd probably buy it because I want them so much and I'm stuck on an xbox
