This endgame crafting is driving me crazy and Id like some input before I waste my Tier 4 materials.  Please post your best schematics that you have found because I keep finding better ones than mentioned in forums.  I am currently playing as a human warrior tank (champion/vanguard/one-hander) and the best heavy armor schematics I have is : Tier 3 Sturdy Battlemaster Mail, Battlemaster Mail, Superb Heavy Armor of the Dragon.  I also found Tier 3 Legion of the Dead Armor which is better than these (215-309 armor) BUT you have to be dwarf to use it! (sucks) 

 

I have the level 23 Caliban one-hander and plan on getting the Shield of the Emperor (lvl 23 - randomly from merchant stand in Skyhold).  I have a plan for a very good axe called Serpent's Rage (204-276 dps) but i have NO CLUE where to find the tier 3 haft plan for it.  (I made a mock craft with decent mats and it turned out to be a lvl 25 axe). With the 10% stat masterwork it was 304 dps, +23% bleed on hit, + 5 constitution + 5 strength without a haft and rune.

 

Any endgame setup/suggestions would be great before I use these hard to find materials on sub-par gear, thanks!

For armor there is Superior Battlemaster Coat/Armor/Mail (armor version is only buyable with the short list perk, I found the mail version in the Cradel of Sulevin).

I have not bought the armor version yet, it is in Hissing Wastes I believe, maybe the keep in Emprise Du Lion.

I also found in the Cradel of Sulevin a Masterwork Balanced 1h Haft (9 metal, 3 cloth - both offense) and a Masterwork Ornate 1h Haft (9 metal, 3 metal - both utility).

I don't have Serpents Rage yet, so I don't know how it compares, but I do have t3 Engraved Beard-Axe

     Serpent rage has a maximum 189 raw weapon damage, and 208 with 10% stats masterwork. slightly less than Caliban, but you can fully customize Rage with a better masterwork than 5% damage per enemy (and better stat too). 

 

    On the other hand, if you're tanking multiple mobs Caliban should have bigger number depend on how the 5% work, and how far will it stack. Also, keep in mind that Caliban is free and do not have to waste priceless dragon materials to craft it.

caliban has a very low swing speed.
