On normal I get punished every time I do something silly which is great. I have only had a few total wipes, but have come close time and time again. Every fight in this game is a chance to lose. That is a welcome change from meaningless encouters that are just a way of supplying loot.

In other games, I see monsters and think "oh good, I wonder what loot they have". In this game, when 8 guys charge me, I think "oh crap! Hope we win..."

Haven't had a full wipe yet... but that's 'cause I started on normal, and expected it to be normal... but it's actually pretty easy. So I'll go for hard!

I've died 3 times thus far, once in the Tower of Ishal and twice on this one boss I'm on now that I still have no idea how to get past. She kills my party without even breaking a sweat.

I usually lose at least one party member every fight, but those are the full wipes.

Yeah, I had zero wipes until I hit level 9. Between then and now (level 10) I must have wiped like 9 times.

Dragons, and those damn insta kill ambushes

Ohhh havent fought one of those yet... cowers in the corner in fear...

Actaully the game is definetally ramping up in dificulty nicely now, I tend to have the game paused like 90% of the time in the battle or so... can't wait to see what the end will be like!

Well I kinda suck at the game, cause I haven't played an RPG like this since KotOR about 3 years ago. So, I've died quite a few times. I'm getting much better, though, and die far less frequently than I did in the beginning.

I really wish we could queue up attacks, I find myself pausing every second or so to micromanage my characters just right in tough situations.

Haven't died yet *crosses fingers* on Normal, but its been very close. During my origin story I lost my dog at one point :( - and during the wilderness I had to reload and try new tactics to avoid death (yeah, I don't like my chars dying... especially in this game - my character has actual history!).

I expect I will see my first death soon though, thats they way it works for me - everything starts out close to the border of death... then I die quite a few times in a row.

I'm playing on normal difficulty and I've only had 2 complete wipes. One was in the tower of Ishal where I didn't use the terrain like I should of. The second was because I did a really stupid thing: met Leliana, went to the party selection screen, unselected Dog but didn't realise that I conversely had to select Leliana. So I had a 3 person party which wasn't going so badly until a particularly hard fight. Oh well. It's a learning experience :)

Yeah I know what you mean!

My main beef is that I can't tell my characters to go somewhere without directly controlling them and moving them during battle (which takes time)... not sure if its the same on the PC, but the xbox/ps3 works that way and wow it makes for some interesting battles!

Only one death so far, in the ambush after Morrigan(sp) joins the party, and that was only my main because I wasn't paying close enough attention to his health. Slinging fireballs is well and good, as long as you remember to heal :) .

I also wish we could set a certain amount of give on a position. A lot of times I'll set my party to hold a position so I can pull the enemies to their position, but then they'll either just stand their like idiots, not moving an inch and not even attacking unless they're attacked, but if I set them to move freely, they'll instantly fun into a room full of enemies. Even if I switch to them and pull them back, as soon as a switch back to another party member, they're back to sprinting towards death.

If you go into free mode and leave them behind and go pull, just click off free  mode and they will run to you and engage in battle with their normal AI.

I have not full whiped but I have had a few deaths in the party here and there. and the encounters are steadly increasing in diffuclty as I move through the game. I am playing on normal my first play through I will try hard and nightmare on my later runs through the game. When I am more comefortable with what stats do and what works best for me.

Same. I pretty much suck at singleplayer RPGS, but commanding four people at once is hard for me even on normal.

I started out not pausing nor using tactics. That lasted until I got past Ostragar. I simply can't control four characters quickly enough in real time it seems. On a related note, the only times I have wiped is when running solo through the fade and forgetting to shift out of Golem form to cross fire. Ha.

Criminy, what is ya'lls secret? I've played every Bioware game since BG1 and I've lost track of the total party wipes Ive had less than 10 hours in on normal. Im completely stuck at the Dragon in the werewolf dungeon at the moment, I can't touch that thing even on easy. Oh, and I pause every 2 seconds to readjust and re-evaluate my strategy, so im definitely not trying to play it real time.

Playing on Normal. I'm starting to die a lot now, around level 8. Had a couple wipes. Most of my deaths are due to my own Walking Bomb effects though. I wiped my entire party with an awesome chain reaction of Virulent Walking Bomb. Four of those suckers blew one right after the other...it was magical =D
