well ... this should be a lesson - always disable auto updates for everything. i don't care if it's steam, origin or your operating system.

NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE - allow a piece of software to update itself before you're read the update notes and, preferably, also some comments.

How are we to discern from the patch notes "hey guys, we played with the low quality graphics to make them less shiny but we forgot to remove the lock"?

Agreed. I'm upset by the patch, not gonna play the game until a fix is implemented because the graphics changes bother me, but I know Bioware is doing all they can. They pushed this patch out so damn quick to fix the game's launch issues, which were far better than most AAA. It was the rushing to get the patch out to meet fan demand that likely caused this issue.

Guys, they read the forums. They know there is an issue. When they've found a fix and have a reliable way to give it to us, we'll hear about it. But they can't respond to us until then.

You're welcome to be upset, annoyed, pissed off, etc. I understand. But whining about how terribly BW has screwed you over? Not really. You'll be alright.

Dude, stop treating Bioware like a pure , innocent virgin that works with all her heart to meet our savage demands... now you're trying to say that they failed because we, the customers , demanded too much? Well guess what, in a real business, if you can't satisfy your customers , you die. There's no, "wait , we'll patch the patching patch that hotfixed the hotfixes" .
They should grow some balls and some professionalism. This ain't no garage softhouse (theoretically) , (practically it's not that far) .
And I won't be alright, because maybe your mommy can afford to throw away 60 dollars on your game , but other people, that actually work for their money , don't like to throw away money to people that eventually screw you and give you a half product. It's good that gamers pretend TOP quality for their money.
I don't wanna feed the kids of a seller that doesn't give me the product that I want. In this case I prefer to feed my cats.

This is what happens when your entitled whining makes EA/BioWare nervous: They're rushing patches.

Posting legitimate issues that break games and prevent them from functioning correctly is not "entitled whining". I'm not sure how it works in the US, but in the UK, you're entitled to a full refund if a product isn't fit for purpose. A broken game most certainly is not fit for purpose, and people have a right to complain about that. Especially when they're giving the publisher and developers their hard-earned money.

It's okay to be annoyed.

It's not okay to expect Bioware to come up with an instant patch when it doesn't work that way and EVERYONE KNOWS IT.

that's why i said preferably also some comments.

besides ... that should be done the minute you install origin/steam.

Just a heads-up for those who have already downloaded: Rolling back doesn't change anything, so don't bother.

It looks like once you've downloaded the thing, you're SOL until they patch the patch.

Great job Bioware. The game seem to work worse than before.

1. SLI issues - not fixed. Textures keep flickering. Fog is as shitty as ever - an opaque pixelated flat sprites just floating in the air. How the flip can you still ignore that? I know for a fact it's not Nvidia's problem, since exact same issues HAVE BEEN FIXED with this engine before!

2. The game seems to run worse. Had a solid 60 FPS. Not anymore though. Thanks for the patch!

3. The textures are a complete crap. How can you make the game run worse by lowering the texture quality? Just... HOW?

4. Hair is now greasy and shiny.

I am done. I have no flipping confidence in Bioware anymore. Been a fan for many years, but it seems that another great company just going the same path others have went - treating users like crap and grabbing for cash no matter what. Bioware, either you don't care or you simply have the most incompetent team imaginable. I am tired of fighting the bugs and errors and poor performance instead of playing the game. I am tired of companies releasing freaking alpha versions and selling them at a full price. Even indies do a better job today.

I really hope I can get a refund for this game and just forget it as a flipping nightmare it was.

NoooooOOOOoooes! Patched on PC and my game looks awful too on all settings, shiny hair, bad textures. Plus now have stuttering?! Had zero bugs before in over 100 hours played. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

DragonAgeInquisition2014-12-0921-45-30-9

Not amused.

Could you give use more details ?

Did you let Origin online and played the none patched version or the game ?

That greasy hair makes me want to shower and stay there.

Shower with Cassandra in the middle of the armory, near the anvil DLC soon.

'all your save are belong to us'?

And here I thought I will remain alone, without a fix for broken-glued male elves, but it looks like you guys won't be able to enjoy your playthroughs too.
This patch is a massive failure. Now not only my elves have broken and glued arms but also they have started to look ridiculously bad in general.

Honestly, I feel for the elves, but everyone else wasn't all that much better anyway.

Arms frequently detach during a lot of the animations. Once you notice, you can never really stop looking at it, and it's terrible.

There's also loads of clipping with a lot of the components (arm or leg upgrades) that force you to choose between combat ability and looking credible.

At this point, I hope they decide to just revert the patch (if they can) or push an update by the end of the week. (I hope, even if I don't truly expect.)

[PC] Added ability to rotate character models with the mouse in UI’s that show character models

This doesn't work in the Tactics/Attributes/Behaviors screen, which also shows character models.

That's just a few people. Most of us are posting legitimate complaints and examples of issues we are facing.

Unfortunately, it's not just a few. Not at all.

With that said, I'll test it today. Already patched it before going to work.

It sure sucks, but calm down people: Bioware is not trying to steal your money with an evil grin across their faces. Anyone ever considered that patching a huge game like this is hard and they must've made an honest mistake? Just stop assuming the worst, you'll be alright and life will move on. Actually, just stop assuming at all, if possible. If you all could just report the bugs and be done with it, that would be great.

HEY LOOK!

Right after we are told by a mod to stop using twiter to ask about the game, a developer goes and uses twitter to talk about the game, and still not use the correct forums hehe!

Loaded an autosave on my game. I CAN CONFIRM : This patch DOES fix the voice change bug when you encounter Hawke.

But AT WHAT COST BIOWARE!?! AT WHAT COST!?! Is it just me or are the complexion sliders broken also! What happened to my Hawke! She looks like a box of dry raisinets!!!

Spoiler

tumblr_m5rtcjhuv51r6aoq4o1_250.gif

Luckily I knew of the voice change bug prior to this, so I have a save before meeting her. I can easily change her complexion if need be, I was just so shocked by this I had to make it of note. In hindsight I think this is kinda hilarious. Did anyone else see changes to their Hawke's complexion or any other characters. Aside from this I noticed Harding didn't have freckles, and her chin scar was gone but as far as NPC's being afflicted with OCFS (Old Crusty Face Syndrome) Hawke was the only one I saw :/
