I've had crashes/freezes during release but whatever, I expect it on any big release anyways, especially since it's not just Bioware it's AMD or Nvidia in the mix as well, technology struggling to catch up with each other. My main gripe is the "by PC gamers, for PC gamers" marketing which led me to believe the DAI will be an optimised PC release instead of a console port. Then my gripe was fueled by Bioware's silence in the matter for weeks.

However, if the PC controls are fixed and Bioware communicates with its fanbase more then both my gripes will turn to praise that Bioware took the time to listen and deal with our issues.

This.  I don't expect zero bugs, that's just ridiculous.  But that doesn't mean we should expect major features or critical things (like PC controls) to be buggy on release.  It's not the fact that a game has bugs, all software has bugs, it's a matter of HOW BAD these bugs are.  And missing features that were promised but excluded because the developers "ran out of time"?  Lol, that's unacceptable.  Do you buy a car with a missing wheel because they "ran out of time" during the assembly process?  And then do you THANK THEM when they finally add the fourth wheel, weeks later?

Do you see a million people here complaining? or even a tenth of that? No. What we have is closer to 5% of users having bad experiences, and even fewer having terrible experiences. Bioware did release a game, some people have major bugs, others have strong opinions about design choices. Strong opinions does not a wronged party make.

Well, the day people at large learn that pre-buying/buying on release day is not very wise, gaming will have it's next big crash. ;)

Yep, you are so right about that. I think I just learned it the hard way when I pre-ordered this game. I bought what Mike Laidlaw (his last name should be pronounced LIE-LAW) said on his infamous video about DAI been built on PC to keep Bioware legacy. I can't believe this people are lying so blatantly to their customers.

If I've only known better when I saw that video (I've never played a game built on consoles). If I did, I would have caught him on the spot when he betrayed himself and said "We built this game for pc" "As soon as we were ready with the presentation, you press A. And it all begins". LOL, ya rite. Thats the A button on a keyboard right? Yeah, I am sure.

8 skill slots? c'mon. It's not a "tactical" choice......its a console limitation.

"The tactical camera is just what you would expect from ORIGINS", really? really ?? Flat out lie. The tac cam is useless in way too many places in this game.

It seems to me that no one at Bioware ever played the game with M+K.

So no. No thank you, Bioware for trying to do now what you should have done before release. I hope you all sweat 24/7 trying to fix this game. I paid you real money based on your lies and empty promises, expecting a playable game. What if next time, half of your customers pre-order your game using

very much inclined to agree here, the marketing was all just bullshit we all expected it, but it's still sad to see our negative expectations being actually true, and just FEELING that every menu in the game and the very way the combat system plays out are designed for consoles. i mean, they could've just come right out and said that, but they don't, they have to give us the hope that it's a "pc-first" game.

every game has a dealine and they run out of time before they can add everything they wanted.

I don't care if they add everything they wanted, I care if they add everything they SAID THEY WOULD ADD.  And if not I guess they need to push the date out then huh?  Again, you don't order a pizza and settle for one with none of the toppings you ordered because they "ran out of time" while preparing it do you?  So why should we accept this type of behavior when it happens with computer software?  Don't talk to me about deadlines either.  If your project is behind you PUSH THE DATE BACK.  See Battlefield 4 as an example of a game that was released A YEAR TOO EARLY.  How did that turn out huh?  And you know what?  They lost a lot of loyal customers because of that mess.

Yes of course the "vocal minority argument" which has been proven time again and again not to be true otherwise simcity wouldn't have gotten enough backlash, battlefield 4 problems wouldn't have gotten enough backlash, me3, da2. Shall I go on? Just because its not the majority of the people having issues, doesn't mean you can assume its fine and dandy for everyone else, there may be significant amount of people that are having issues but don't come on the forums.

For example, I know for a fact a lot of my friends have issues with the tac cam but they just stopped playing the game until its fixed because they don't feel like coming to forums. They ****** to me but thats it, there are many people like that.

Great to hear that the patch is coming today.

He paid for software.

Software inevitably has bugs and needs to be patched, no matter how good your QA is.

Get over it.

What nonsense is this? How did developers, especially on consoles, ship bug free game software then in the past? The games had to work when they were shipped because you couldn't patch them. Just because basically anyone who plays games now has their gaming devices hooked up to the internet doesn't mean it's ok to ship bugged games because you can just patch them later. Look at Nintendo, one of the biggest developers and publishers out there, they ship perfectly polished bug free games even today when anything can be patched. The result is that their games are seen as very high quality and people will happily buy them at launch at full price.

I feel the complete opposite about DAI. This game has taught me a lesson: don't be an early adopter. I preordered the game, paid full price and got an unfinished product with loads of bugs. Several times my character fell through the terrain or flew into the sky and the game would infinitely reload and all I could do was close the game and restart. Conversations froze and I couldn't continue, I had to close the game and restart. Quests I'd like to do wouldn't trigger no matter what I tried. The party banter, one of the things I enjoyed the most in the first two games, was almost completely absent when I played, it just wouldn't trigger. Plus many other smaller bugs. I could have just waited until several patches were released, paid less money for the game when it was discounted, and I wouldn't have encountered all these annoyances that negatively impacted my enjoyment of the game.

Maybe you expect a buggy broken mess when you buy a game but I certainly don't. I've been playing games for a very long time and standards used to be much higher than today.

Agreed, what Bioware is doing wrong is not servicing the community that's desperate to play the game they promised, but they have consistently put out a news blast only to go dark again for weeks, leaving us feeling like the kid locked in the cellar.

Good Job, this game can get even better with these fixes and more to come. My only major complaint about the game to be honest is the bugs, they kind of soured the experience for me a bit. My romance scene with Cassandra bugged out >_< /sad

You're using it for a loot function when it's meant to be a search function...if you can't find loot without the search ping you have bigger problems in life than DA:I not being as good as you hoped...for god sakes the game makes a sound when you're supposed to use the search ping..this complaint is so dumb...people spam a button they're not supposed to spam..then get mad that them spamming it is annoying.

Don't press V unless you hear the que for the next 20 hours of gameplay. You won't miss a single thing you care about.

^^this. Nintendo is a modern day example, pretty much every game they ship is 99% bug free. People love them for it, they ship a polished product always.

What you fail to see is that I am not arguing. I am simply pointing out that, there is a gross exaggeration of the general state of the game across the entirety of the consumer base. I can play the game, I've run into some bugs, I am eager to see them fixed, I am not hating on Bioware or the individuals that are working hard to fix the bugs for me, because it gets me no where. No matter what I do, they are the people that have to do what needs to be done, and ragging on someone is not the best way to get what you want in my opinion.

I don't know whether the patch is actually pushed by Bioware or EA (they're in different time zones) but here in California it's only 7:30 in the morning. I expect it to be a few hours before I see a patch.

No, it means you can't make assertions about the entire community of a game based on the "vocal minority" (It's a thing, not an argument. It exists.) The people on this forum are a vocal minority because the mass amount of gamers who buy DA:I don't go on this forum. What the rest of the majority thinks could be anything...but the people on this forum are a vocal minority..it's a fact. You are acting outraged like Bioware has betrayed their fans when the only evidence you have of people having bad experiences is from a vocal minority...which means it's ridiculous to pretend as if these problems are widespread when there is NO evidence to suggest that. In fact there is large evidence to suggest otherwise since almost none of the reviewers ran into these issues, or at least to the extent where it greatly effected their playthrough.

That's why we became beta testers, because of the people who defends faulty products.

Not a long while ago, Jay Wilson, lead designer of the Diablo 3 got fired because of the s*storm caused by the promises they've made and the final product was not even close to that promise. Although the the current state of DAI and the state of D3 is quite different (D3 was terrible until RoS, which made it playable for most). "...made by PC gamers..." was a big promise and current state of the game says otherwise. So, it should not be a surprise to see a massive s*storm on the web about it.

Don't get me wrong, I love DAI. I invested more than 100 hrs already but hell, every 10 mins I cursed the moment I pre-ordered it. I did continue to play it because of my respect to the job Bioware (and they will fix it eventually) did in their past and DAI is just beautiful if you can play. Nevertheless, it's the last pre-order for me, for any of Bioware/EA products from now on.

In the end, companies should set more realistic deadlines to deliver their promises. If they can not keep it, please delay the product like CDPR does with The Witcher but never deliver a faulty product.

Sorry for the long post :)
