I had an issue I am wondering if anyone else has had. I had this prior to patch and after.  A couple days after release I made it to the fade. The boss battle would bug out if i killed him when there was a add still alive. combat would stop and the boss was dead but still show his health bar. After fighting him again 9 times it would repeat everytime even after making sure to kill all adds before I landed final blow on boss. 12th time it went through but then during the cut scene my computer would shut off.   I had to repeat this process 5  more times before I finally made it through without a crash.  This just happened again to me last night and this mourning the exact same thing. This time I got passed boss but it craches and my computer restarts during cut scene.

Now one thing i haven't tried yet. It would crash on cut scene when i was judging someone finally I had the idea to turn graphics all the way down and it let me progress through the scene. I will try this again kill the boss yet again and see if having lowered the graphic settings to as low as they can go will let me passed the cut scene and finish the quest.

that cinematic after the fight was glitchy for me because adds was still attacking my Loghain.  but I was still able to select my choices and see the scene in a decent way.  If I wereyou save before the fight and switch settings to low beat boss then afterwards return to your normal settings.

Holy Maker, I'm thinking "Could I create a Travolta Inquisitor?" You put dangerous ideas on my mind.

DO IT! DO IT!  :D

OK so I applied the workaround for the graphics screw-up introduced by Patch 2, and after a few hours of gameplay, no problems. I can't say the game runs any better because it's always run fine for me, but it's also not any worse.

The new search feature is a welcome addition, for sure.

Still, I can't progress my main campaign until I am able to WALK in the game. Please Bioware, make this happen!

I can confirm that while using the cut scene fps fix, the patch 2 workaround, and Nvidia driver 344.80, that my fog and most of the stuttering is gone.

I7 4790

GTX 970 in SLI

SSD

Funny thing: I've resolved the majority of the frame-lag and cutscene issues by using 344.75, the Shader work-around and launching the game from Nvidia Experience as opposed to Origin (I have Origin open however). No new drivers, no cutscene lag, no fps cmd, and I still have no odd stuttering. If I launch from Origin, bam, frame loss. My guess is it is DRM-related (probably more true than not due to all the revoked licensing a bunch of people were reporting earlier post-patch).

Again, 344.80 does nothing to resolve this particular issue. You're mixing fixes. (If I were to guess, the fps cmd or a different launcher resolve that part of it.) Nothing included in 344.80 addresses anything in DA:I. There are patch notes indicating what it does fix, and none of them apply. (Did you have these stuttering issues prior to DA:I patch2? No? Probably not your driver then.)

What?  Are you serious?

I hadn't heard this.

*edit* about the ability to progress the story depending on the ability to walk, I mean.  Not that keyboard/mouse users can't walk.  I knew that part.

.. I have finished one run and almost done with my second, I never had to walk to progress any of the main story.

so.. wut? Where, and why do you have to walk?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love a walk option for KB+M controls, but I've never had to walk.

Do you have 'Origin in-game' disabled? If not try it, it helped me while launching from Origin.

They are saying they are not going to advance the main plot until they can walk, not that they are unable to.

Haven't tried that. Wasn't sure if it'd affect online playability or achievements, so I kept Origin in-game enabled. Doesn't affect me if I launch via nVidia Experience so I saw no reason to de-toggle it.

You do realize they are indeed reading this forum and twitter is just another means of reporting bugs, right? I don't know what's wrong with that.

I'm not arguing this, but I'm going to make a counterpoint.  It is not correct to assert that new drivers will "do nothing" for anyone other than yourself.  There are too many variables in the architecture of both game and drivers that intermingle.  Yes, only those fixes were listed.  No, that doesn't mean the drivers might not fix undocumented areas.  It all depends on optimization.

Only affects the notifications from Origin, like "PinkPanther is online'. It helped a lot of people since day 1. I got achievements and can play MP with it disabled. Can't buy MP stuff with real world money though but who cares?

Edit: Can confirm this worked I turned graphics all low then proceeded. I was able to get through the cut scenes and finish the quest.  This must be a graphics driver issue. I hope Nvidia comes up with something soon.

So, anecdotal evidence.

You have a point to make? Condescending statements help no one and contribute to the general negativity. If you want to be superior, start your own topic

Tried the nvidia Hotfix mentioned and expected nothing. http://nvidia.custhe...x-driver-344.80

Amazingly the stuttering/freezing every 5 secs is completely gone. Very excited to be able to play again.

Edit i have a gtx 580

Would the new PC hotfix address the newly introduced frame rate drop and stuttering issue after patch 2?

I was fine on Ultra before patch 2, now I can't play fluidly even on High.

My friend, this is 6 hours, 10 pages, 255 posts ago, and a conversation that has long concluded.  Resurrecting the pain and suffering of this exchange serves no purpose other than to reruffle feathers and, dare I say, help sink the thread BACK into negativity.  If your goal is to avoid such, date and time stamps are your friends.

Yes, we are all fixing for a patch. Others like me, not satisfied with patch 2, are still waiting for the male elf broken-glued arms fix. Here you can get quite a glimpse of the issues: http://answers.ea.co...104509#U4104509
