PC whiners get to much in this patch considering pc is totally dying platform anyway.

 

I'm still trying to think of something to say about it, but this was so fantastic that I can't.

I had to turn off the MSAA as well. Don't notice a difference without it.

 

Yeah MSAA is pretty performance heavy in this game, as is to be expected from a game engine with deferred rendering like Frostbite 3.

I do wish people would not make up excuses for them.  They gave us a bugged, unfinished game, then weeks, not days later, patched it with a broken patch.  If you really want to see this trend end, then you need to put the blame where the blame is justly deserved.  
No one in their right mind could say any of this was a mistake or a oversight,  they knew exactly what they were doing, weather EA pushed them to do this or that, it doesn't mater, it is not our fault that they signed up with the devil in the first place..

The thing that you fail to see I'd that "they" don't exist anymore. It is all just the devil now.

And EA had already given them a one year extension. I think its safe to say it was going to be released in November. No matter the state of the game.

A lot of developers might like PC gaming to be gone, but it's never gonna happen.

 

 

Anyway, I'm glad I decided to wait and see with DAI and now I'll definitely not buy until the game is fixed and solid and the first few updates are done.

After Patch...

Just killed the Giant that was fighting the dragon along the storm coast(4th time) and after I defeated it, it decided to just stand up and stand still. I can still hit it, but no loot nor experience.

Also my skill flank attack/skirmisher now teleports through the target dealing no damage and wasting the skill and stamina used for the skill more than it actually hits now...

As well as I got stuck in a convo with solas and no options to speak. I was stuck standing still until I reloaded.

How about we get the the real issues. Bugs/Patches. Why are people sensitive and prideful over what platform they play on? I own all, and it seems a bit absurdly pointless.

There are but few constants in the game industry.  Nintendo is always doomed, the PC market is always dying because of piracy, and Half Life 3 is always confirmed.

However I like most kinds of strategy games on pc for some reason.  RPG however is a long gone gengre for me at least on the pc, there are still some that is superior on that platform but not this kind and it havent been for qiúite some time inho. Sad, maybe but I can live with consoles since I started out in the 80's with vic 64 etc etc etc. Been a long road but to me its clear where the direction lies at now at least.

Later on today we'll be implementing a hotfix for Patch 2 on PC to address graphical issues our players have been experiencing. This fix will ensure that the graphics settings are working correctly for everyone; however, players who are using lower graphics settings will notice changes to the visuals they are used to.

 

Before Patch 2, released December 9, shader quality for all PC users was being forced to run at Ultra. This impacted the performance of low-end machines and caused some unintended visual artifacts for users whose mesh quality was set lower than Ultra. As a result, users with Low or Medium mesh settings saw hair that was shinier than expected.

 

We attempted to address this in Patch 2 by binding the two settings so that mesh and shader quality were always the same. However, this fix wasn't properly implemented, and it forced shader quality to Low. We provided a command-line workaround Tuesday, but that still required players to ensure that the new shader quality matched their mesh settings.

 

This hotfix will correctly bind the mesh and shader settings and eliminate this issue. However, now that shader quality is being set correctly for everyone, players using lower settings will notice a decrease in the quality of visuals. This includes the removal of some features such as scars and freckles.

 

Most notably, the lower settings do not support blending of the age layer, so some users may notice that their Inquisitor (or custom Hawke) has aged considerably. And while this change is how it was originally intended to work, it could be understandably frustrating for people who created their characters before Patch 2.

 

If you would like to correct this change, you can set your mesh quality to High or Ultra. This will enable features that are disabled on lower settings, but may impact your framerate and performance.

 

We're sorry for any stress or confusion this may have caused, and we thank the community for helping us quickly identify and address this issue.

Ok, but what about the freezing? My game was just fine at ultra settings before the patch, but now it's stuttering every 5 seconds. The game menu is stuttering a lot, it wasn't happening before. Even if I stand still the game stutters. It suddenly goes from 50 fps to 5!

It's not the DLC that people dislike, it's when game content is intentionally ripped out of the game before release for the sole purpose of packaging it up and selling as a DLC at a later date.  It's kind of like when someone gives you a gift for your birthday and then follow it up with "That will be $9.99"  

 

The only time people should be upset with a DLC purchase is when the download is a couple hundred KB (which is a sign all the content is already in the game and ready to go.  All you downloaded was a code to "unlock" it).  

 

Like Destiny, in which the DLC is already in the game and has been found by players.

I thought I read a twitter post about them looking into implementing a 'emporium' like way to alter your character after the patch and fix

(on twitter somewhere I cant find it now) 

Who knows how long that will take but it would be a way to fix your character's face after they messed it up with the patch. 

 

Betcha they could do that in less then hour, since you at a certain point in the game you meet a certain someone where you get a popup to customize that character on the spot. xD

Yeah same here. I'm sure they are trying to get the hot fix out today so everyone doesn't go bonkers about it tomorrow.

The game suddenly goes from 50 fps to 5, and go back to 50, and a few seconds later the fps goes 5 again. It wasn't happening before. It's impossible to play now. Hope they fix it in the hotfix, and not just the shader thing.

I'm a PC player but also have consoles for the exclusives. But I'm not sure how my PC will run my games anymore if I get a 4k uhd tv.

 

Wait, what?  Did I read that right, or did you just imply that the Xbox and PS4 can handle 4k while a PC can't?  The consoles are struggling to reach 1080p, unless they can somehow squeeze a 500% performance boost out of the consoles, I doubt there will be a console that can make use of a 4k TV anytime soon.  Maybe in 5 to 10 years if you are lucky.    

 

*I type this on my 4k monitor connected to my PC getting nearly 60 FPS on ultra settings while at said 4k resolution.
