Either way you slice it, look at slaes and then maybe, just maybe you can see the light too ...who knows...these things change over time but for now consoles drives the games and pc the hardware.....question is....what do you prefer ?

I really dont care about platform since I use most of them anyway but to say pc is the future in any other way then hardware is denying the facts. Games are played on prtable or consoles these Days and its totally taking over, no denying that. Pc can have a biright future if somethings done about piracy, Before that....no chance in hell even. Thats the new the new play category

Wait, what? Did I read that right, or did you just imply that the Xbox and PS4 can handle 4k while a PC can't? The consoles are struggling to reach 1080p, unless they can somehow squeeze a 500% performance boost out of the consoles, I doubt there will be a console that can make use of a 4k TV anytime soon. Maybe in 5 to 10 years if you are lucky.
*I type this on my 4k monitor connected to my PC getting nearly 60 FPS on ultra settings while at said 4k resolution.
I don't believe that was what he meant, he is just worried that "his" PC isn't gonna handle a 4k resolution.

You see I don't understand this, doesn't reflect what I'm seeing in the games market at all. The PC's streets ahead in the number and variety of games coming out. Are we just talking games that are also available on consoles or the full market?

Inquisition seems to favor females Elves a whole lot, seeing as you get six love interests you can pick from.
However I like most kinds of strategy games on pc for some reason. RPG however is a long gone gengre for me at least on the pc, there are still some that is superior on that platform but not this kind and it havent been for qiúite some time inho. Sad, maybe but I can live with consoles since I started out in the 80's with vic 64 etc etc etc. Been a long road but to me its clear where the direction lies at now at least.

There's no reliable source for sales numbers anywhere, so it's all just speculation. It's probably "everyone he knows" on console.
Totally off topic but aside from newegg, Amazon, and (the incredibly risky) ebay does anyone know of where I can get started upgrading my baby? I know at this point I'm probably better off just getting a whole new machine and upgrading it but a grand for a new PC....that's...a little painful on the checkbook for us.

Ok, but what about the freezing? My game was just fine at ultra settings before the patch, but now it's stuttering every 5 seconds. The game menu is stuttering a lot, it wasn't happening before. Even if I stand still the game stutters. It suddenly goes from 50 fps to 5!
Same here. For me, it was on medium settings mostly, but it was smooth. Now on the same medium (plus shaders-meshes lowered to medium) it stutters every 5 seconds (even logo screen and menus), cutscenes freeze, CTD on area switch etc. It's become unplayable after patch.

Ima just gonna wait for, let's say, half an hour just to make sure. Fool me once and all that.

I hope so. 4k TV is a total waste until cable providers are able to broadcast at 4k anyway. (Monitor was a waste buying too, should have gotten a 1440p 120 hertz monitor instead...)

Indeed. I abhor using controller with PC but for skyrim I make an exception. I had played it on my husband's x-box and grabbed it on sale (10 bucks for the legendary edition!) for PC because MODS....but the UI is just...yeesh. Super speed mouse and what works on a controller with that game is NOT meant for PC.
Then again I've had no issues with DAI's UI. I rather like it on PC.
I'll always prefer my computer for gaming, consoles just aren't right for me but there are some games for which I make an exception. Oblivion (I don't have it on PC yet), Dragon's Dogma (Never made for PC), The Fable games, annnd...that's actually about it. Otherwise I'm a PC girl.

In the long run the consoles take over is my bet. At this very moment I would say its diveded between gengeres really. For ex Pandoras box is only on pc (then again its a strategy game) so..... Then agin take World of Tanks wich was developed for pc first with a good margin of years (probaly becouse of hardwere and at the time playerbase). I could be wrong but I certinly feel DA:I A and the likes is more focusing on consoles and we will see that even more clearly in the future, just my thoughts. One can never truly know the future, its a trens for sure though.

I'm not thinking volume of sales here, more the viability of the market as a whole. I can believe if you limit your scope to games only available on consoles too then you'd see a healthier games market on the consoles. But that's just because you've jettisoned much of the games market from consideration and created a set that's self selecting to make consoles appear more successful.
