I came to ask the same.

I know my timeline is different from Bioware's, but I'm not sure how different it is.

Thanks, I'll be waiting for this patch!

I need more banter! 183hrs in game so far and only my first gameplay had good banter =(

here is the bioware time

Does origin have a set patch release time like XBLA and PSN? I don't play very many games on origin which is why I'm asking. I know steam just releases patches whenever they become available, no set patch time. I was hoping to get some post patch play in before work but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

what sane human being would take reddit as something to be trusted and championed?

Someone a lot more sane than someone who would take this forum as something to be trusted and championed. I also thought reddit was a dump until I visited here...where the quality is lower by a fair margin...which is quite impressive

O.K. so just to clarify, as a European player, since the game was released in Europe two days later than North America, does that mean I downloaded the game with Patch 1 already installed?

Yes

Chaos17

go through all the post on "PC community concerns" and count the number of people involved in the banter. Not that many. Just a lot of posts per people.

So what? We've made our point, pointed out the blatant lies (by pc gamers for pc gamers, yeah right) and every single design failure out there, doesn't mean we're wrong. Truth is, not everyone who's not happy with the game bothers to actually post online.

And don't let me start about the vulgar anime like effects that don't let you see your enemies during fights. Gosh!!! I've never seen so much sparkly sparkly, smoke smoke, snow flakes snow flakes together.

Glad to see someone else bring this up. To me this is one of the big immersion breakers - I simply cannot bring myself to care about the close combat because visually it's like some big 4th of July colorbomb celebration. Exceedingly unrealistic and very much at odds with the original dark fantasy of Dragon Age universe that I liked from Origins.

No, I'm going off the massive amount of negative reception this **** is getting for everywhere that isnt mainstream media.

You can be a blind fanboy, nobody says you cant.

But dont go around telling people they cant be honest about the game's problems.

Software developers are all frustrated Santa's and like to deliver your patch's after you are safely tucked up in bed dreaming of bunny's.

Isn't your #1 doing exactly what you're lamenting? You're using a vocal minority to suggest everything is the way you, personally, see it.

No because I am seeing the good reviews, and the bad reviews together. I'm playing the game, I'm experiencing bugs that frustrate me, and I am coming here to see about the patch and communicating with fellow users. I am not saying Bioware has done no wrong, but I am saying the pitchforks aren't needed.

I would think EA could do the same, especially with their own game, but I just think it's still too early.

I genuinely cant help but laugh at the people who obviously expect this patch to fix everything.

Dont get me wrong, I personally expect it to be a nice patch. This game, even with its flaws, is a pretty good game.

But this patch is a band aid. Its not going to fix the game and make everything better.

Yeah, it's totally ready, but they're waiting to see how long they can make people wait.  And cackling.  I think Mark Darrah is wearing his witch's hat and stirring our tears in his cauldron.

You forgot to say, "Muahahaha!"

Edit: oh, wait. You did specify cackling. My bad. That totally counts.

I suppose people are jumping to conclusions since it was posted that the 360 patch has already gone live. Which considering their patches have to go through console certs and our patches don't it stands to reason our patches (all things being equal) should be able to be released earlier than their console counterparts, or at the very least concurrently. Of course, that doesn't take into account that patches aren't universal and the UI/control changes (which is actually pretty much all I care about since my game has been relatively bug free) wouldn't be something that the console versions would need as much tweaking for which could cause further delays but it is what it is.

I'm sure you will hear a lot of this, but THANK YOU! It's nice to hear that you've been listening and intend on supporting DAI properly. It's great to hear that you've taken the PC-user concerns about controls to heart and that you hope to provide improvements beyond basic bug-fixes. That's good customer relations and good support and we appreciate it.

Please, don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion, I really do, but I do not understand it.

I don't think we have to say "thank you". I think they have to say "I am sorry" to us. The bugs and the poor interface should have not been in the game in the first place. A lot of people got the game and still did not get an enjoyable experience out of it due to their unfinished product. Some bugs is normal in a game this size, but lots of game breaking issues, poor optimization and terrible interface are not acceptable at all.

But maybe that's just me.

Actually, every single game ever has had bugs, and also on older consoles.

And Nintendo is no exception.

How long has the latest version of Pokemon been out? The game is already version 1.2.

Also, what about MissingNo in the first titles? Or Glitch City?

Every single piece of software since the dawn of time, has had bugs. That's a fact.

The reason software and games nowadays got more bugs, is because the technology has advanced far, far more. There are many more factors that plays a role in it, and this is one of the many reasons we see bugs more frequently today.

We as customers expect more and more, and since information is more widely available today, you hear much more stuff about the design of the game, the features, etc. than you did in the past. And just like forever ago, developers sadly has to cut features or change them, because implementing them is either impossible, or they just won't be able to make it before deadline. The biggest difference is that today you actually hear about this, and just a couple years ago, you didn't.

However thankfully, because patching is easier and possible today, adding these scraped features becomes a reality.

People really shouldn't complain about getting features that was scraped, and instead just be happy for it. 10 years ago, this wasn't even an option

Not all bugs and glitches are equal. I wouldn't come here to complain about minor bugs and glitches but if I have to restart the game and lose progress that's a major bug. If the game locks me out of content (like quests), I consider that major. MissingNo didn't break or freeze the game and force me to restart, a tiny bug like that doesn't bother me much. And frankly, I don't care how simple or complex your game is, I only care about that it works. I will excuse minor bugs in a big complex game like DAI but I will not do that for major bugs that really impact my enjoyment of the game. And the other big problem is that I, as someone who paid the full price and supported the developer by purchasing the game day one, get a worse experience than someone who buys the game 6 months later for half the price or less. That is not something that should be defended.

Also, Nintendo doesn't develop Pokémon.  ;)

Yep, the only NPC that is not dog ugly and you cannot romance her.  It's heartbreaking.

I hope that they change the color of Cullens hair in this patch and remove the scar from Varrics nose, or at least put a plaster on it..

Are you serious?  Harding is a dwarf and a pig.

It'd be a straw man if I was actually arguing; I'm just being really sarcastic.  I have no point, just self-entertainment.

Edit to add:  It's laugh or cry, man.
