Shiny hair is gone, graphics on high/ultra. Running smooth as silk :)

Also I really don't know if it's due to the patch, but I'm hearing more banter now  :3

I'm one of those who had a pretty smooth experience with the patch and found no difficulty using the workaround.

I just wanted to contrast the negativity being thrown out on this forum, the hotfix downloaded for me just now in about 20 seconds, the game is running smooth as butter and I have not experienced any stuttering (I didn't experience any prior, either). I'm actually enjoying the features of the patch.

While I do understand that others have had difference experiences and no doubt emotions and tensions are running high, I remain mildly disgusted at the negativity and behaviour, especially absent productive dialogue, exhibited by some people on this forum.

I hope that some fixes or adjustments find their way to you as soon as possible however there are better ways of promoting helpful user to user discussion than simply utilising passive aggression, abuse and invective.

It's possible. Reinstall the game and play the game in offline mode. Turn off auto game update in your Origin setting.

Thank you!

Or realists ;) Wake up, the industry isnt all "Mighty pc" on all gengres anymore. How about that for a newsflash for ya? PC is still around and will be, just not the focus for every gengre it used to be. Thats it, like it or not thats the facts. How is that "old" saying agin >...".times are changing"...live and adept or dien trying as they say in Eve and similar games, understand now ? Its like the 60's meet 80's in many ways.

Could be wrong f course but then again not many trends nor xp say I am.

Three times the gengres!

This hotfix did nothing to stop the hitching that occurs as soon as I launch the game. I am extraordinarily disappointed in Bioware and especially EA for not allowing me to download a previous version of the game. I was having fun before with little to no problems, but now the game is unplayable. It is such a shame too, I had considered this my game of the year so far...

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to fix this, just know that I updated the nvidia driver and when that didn't work, downloaded an old one...that still didn't work. I even employed the command code stated in this thread to no effect. The root of the problem is the update, not my computer nor base game.

I ran perfectly on mostly high settings before this patch, no lag or errors of any kind. Not a single crash. So yeah, this is my concern. If I install this patch and hotfix and start getting lag/stuttering I am going to lose my ****.

That is exactly what happened to me. I was playing in high ultra quality in 40 to 60 fps! Now it doesn't stop stuttering!

Hi everyone. Here's a funny thing: the stuttering is STILL OUT THERE.

I don't care much about shiny hair and things like that, especially with my inquisitor shaving his head every morning anyway, but the stuttering thing - it just kills the game. There's no need to mention it was all smooth sailing before the patch. On a mix of mid-high-ultra settings. Cheers. And thank you, devs, for neglecting the real problem.

Hardwere change to fast now these Days, thats a big problem. Devs  want to commit to a standard that is "certain" for say 5 years or so´. If not....everchanging new game Engine that cost alot! etc. Devs want a stable platform to develop/and make Money on!! To fast Changes is bad for most big dev game makers, quite simple.

Conal, if you spot this, I'd really like to know why some folks are getting a 17MB hotfix and some of us are stuck failing out of a 270MB download.

People who have stuttering issues;

1. Go offline in both origin and DA.  I had freezes before that I solved completely by doing this.

2. Someone previously in this thread reported that it had been a GPU issue for which AMD had put out a fix.  Unfortunately I don't know where that post is.  But make sure your drivers are up-to-date and check if there are any hotfixes available for your card.

So I canceled out of the update just for kicks (I'm not playing tonight anyways) to see if maybe it was a bug with the initial hotfix.  DA:I flagged as needing an update.  I started it again... and this time it's a 352 MB patch.

Someone else showed they are downloading a 352 MB patch also earlier in the thread.  So now there are three different sizes; 17MB, 270MB, and 352MB.

I have begun the process of downloading.

I got the 270 version. As I have said multiple times I never downloaded the original broken patch, so this must be it and the 17 one must be the hotfix. It downloaded at 5 mb/s at first, got to 40% rather fast, then slowed down to a crawl of 100 kb/s.

So now it's doing said crawl. WTG, Bioware. So far not impressed.

Haven't been able to download the patch yet, but are you guys going to fix the insane stuttering any time soon? Pre-patch, the game ran perfectly, and now it hitches all the time. Skyhold is especially bad.
