First - "children"? I see you here very clever. If you coward it's your problem. I'm not saying that you need to mindlessly delete all processes. But if the system is deep in **** and people have already started reinstall it because of the game and friezes, maybe it's worth to try not to **** in pants before every action.
The next time you write, offer something in return.
Although, really, what do I care. This method has helped me. So, believe it or not, I already do not care ..

I have a problem downloading the new patch. Origin says there is an update for DA:I but clicking on the update now button doesn't do anything.

When I press play it says the game needs an update but I can still play if I want. When I click on that update button it gives me a notice saying updating game '272.58 of 359.51 MB updating' at 76% but goes no further.

It just sits there. Staring at me.

I just noticed I have everything on ultra but hair is still shiny? Or maybe it is always a bit shiny. How shiny should hair be?

some black hair can still be a little shiny (or better silky) for examples josephines hair. but normaly the plastic look should be gone with the new hot patch

The game doesn't start after patch for me. There is dragon age process at the background for 10-15 seconds after I try to start it, but not even a window of the game appears.

edit: Yay, I got it working.

What I did was right click on the game at Origin library page and choose "check for updates". It probably downloaded the hotfix wrong first time, even though there was a prompt the game was updated and ready to play, because it initiated another updating and now the game launches.

Wait, it won't work if I have a save from before the Hawke customization?

I truly don't know. My only information is from those who hoped it would revert. If it were my game, I'd expect/hope it to work with a pre-Hawke saved game...but that's not real data. Surely someone here will know more than I.

This is your best and probably only shot.  Good luck.  :)

evolve is a joke, it never gave me proper settings for a game, for example in da:i everything on low or medium but 4xmsaa, but the game runs much better with everything on high without msaa. just delete it (including raptr), its definitly not worth the hard drive space. somebody mentioned earlier that raptr can cause freezes and stuttering too

I don't mind the program, but reading it causes stuttering (in DA:I) I had to try this myself. And the person is correct: Having the Gaming Evolved App (overlay) active in DA:I causes extra stuttering (as in a 5 fps drop vs a smooth and consistant 60fps) It didn't fix ALL stutter, but it did with most of the annoying ones...
Have to try yet if it's just the overlay or the whole app which causes it...

So for those having an AMD card and are affected by stuttering issues: try and disable the Gaming Evolved/Raptr app, and see how this works out for you!

"Good luck" sounds like a perfect word for this ;) .

I've been waiting to get into Inquisition on the PC but have been putting it on hold due to all the bugs and control issues I've been hearing.

Since patch 2 is out, is now a good time to get into the game, or would I be better off waiting for awhile more?

Also is there no PC demo I can try to make sure it runs smoothly on my PC?

Well after the patch+hotfix I'm getting steady 40-60 fps in Haven(both on mantle and dx) using 14.12 driver with everything on ultra and msaa turned off. And I'm not experiencing any horrendous fps spikes that I had before. Hovewer stuff seems to start popping in at a MUCH closer distance now, so that may be the reason behind it.

The 5 secs freezes on my machine were caused by AppleMobileDeviceService.exe. It wasted nearly 25 % of the cpu (have an intel 3750) when dai was running. Deinstalled all apple services and everthing looks good now (including all updates for game and graphic).

Edit: wow, can now play on high graphic level, nice; before it was impossible even in low. Had freezes in the menu and vids... but now its gone. check your cpu usage in resource monitor if u have similar problems

"children" is understood as more of a joke in English, a light-hearted phrase meant to emphasize advice. Although I do not know the person who wrote it I believe you read it more harshly than intended.

Hotfix really messed up things on my PC. Graphics look low res, much more like DA2/DA1. Also ragdoll effects are really cheesy, mousewheel zoom out that activates tactical view is really annoying. Who approved this patch? Everything was perfect pre-hotfix.

Embrace Origin. You can try the game for 24 hours and refund if you don't like it.
