Hmm...finished the 270MB patch...no 17 MB one in sight.
Edit: Hair and everything seems back to normal. Cutscenes seem a bit janky. But I do have the 60fps fix on.
Since the patch, the -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+ seems to no longer function.
I have tested it by changing both numbers from 60 to all kinds of different variables from 30-120. I see zero difference between any of them. I am using the same extra shortcut I made just for using this fiix before the game was patched and it was woring before, so I know the target line is propperly formatted.
Has abyone else tested this fix since patching?

so today my game downloaded a 270-ish MB patch, it was running fine before, now there is stutter every few seconds that renders the game unplayable. i see no graphics problem from before the hotfix, but it is unplayable because bad performance

Mine plays flawlessly now. Better performance than before. Some things don't look as amazing but it's the stuff I didn't care about to begin with like vegetation and terrain. I mean it'd be great for those to look awesome but my computer can't handle it. As long as the characters still look good I'm happy and they do. Most importantly, Scout Harding's freckles are back!

You can fix the shuttering issue by setting your mouse smoothing slider to 75% in the option. No command line required.

Hey, i have a CRAZY idea. How about you guys, Bioware, release a crapton of smaller patches, instead of, you know, taking months to release a big and broken one?

Pardon if this is obvious but some of the language regarding the "Hotfix" seems to indicate it's actually up for "download" somewhere, as opposed to simply being an auto installed update from within Origins.
So does this new "hotfix" install in the same manner as the patch did? In other words, from within Origin?
Just curious because I noticed when Origin auto updated DA:I with the first major patch on Dec. 9 ... but have never seen anything else install from within Origin (ie: the new "hotfix") ...
If I right click DA:I in origin and check for updates, it says the game is up to date and so I'm figuring the "hotfix" was installed without my noticing ... (weird, though since it's over 200mb and seems I would have noticed that) ...
Thanks for any info.

I will try that later. But I use a gamepad to play. I wonder if it will still do the trick if I toggle back to kbm control, set the slider, then switch it back.

I'll post this in this thread, too, because different people are reading these and I think it's important to mention.
Alright so, here's my report:
After the initial hotfix installation, game didn't start. The repair function fixed this.
Shiny hair is gone (meshes on high), age and face texture look right, stubble is there, scars are there. Game looks like I'm used to from before the patch.
I also followed these steps from the helpdesk

I just got finished with customer support and here is what we did to fix my game. I had the same issues you all were having which we narrowed down to being an origin update issue. You may have installed the patch but origin can have issues recognizing the changes and freak out.
Do all of these steps listed below in that order. When finished with each step re launch origin and accept the user agreement and when it has verified your games right click inquisition and check for updates. After that has finished right click again to repair your game. The repair will make sure origin recognizes the updates. It will take a few minutes to do everything but it got rid of my issues.
Run ccleaner on PC:
http://help.ea.com/e...-fix-pc-issues/
Clear origin cache:
http://help.ea.com/e...emporary-files/
Perform a clean boot:
http://help.ea.com/e...n-boot-your-pc/
So I don't know if it was this or the hotfix, but now the stuttering is gone.
So thank you Bioware and thank you Trooperr2, I'm happy again and can enjoy my first free weekend in 3 weeks ![]()

And as a reminder to those who are missing scars or have shiny hair post hotfix: You need to have meshes at least on "High" setting in order to see all this.

That's really sad
It probably has to be certified by Microsoft. Same with the PS4 patch I guess.

Hotfix really messed up things on my PC. Graphics look low res, much more like DA2/DA1. Also ragdoll effects are really cheesy, mousewheel zoom out that activates tactical view is really annoying. Who approved this patch? Everything was perfect pre-hotfix.
Make sure you go into Options and set your graphics options the way you want them.
There is also an option to turn off the zoom out to activate tac cam, or you can still press T either way.

Can anybody confirm that before the hotfix it was possible to play with medium mesh quality but high/ultra shaders (forced with -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel Ultra).
The game was running very good for me before the hotfix! Please unbind mesh quality and shader quality or make it possible to force the shader to a different quality level like it was before the hotfix! I just don't want to play the game like this!
***Edit:
Closing the "Taskhost Process" helps a bit against the stuttering! But i think it was way better before the hotfix!

What the hell? I mean, the game has crappy PC controls, but at least I could play it before. Now I get a stutter every 3-5 seconds, even using menus before I get into the game. I am not running it on ultra settings (a mix of high and medium) but it is completely unplayable now (gtx 760, i-5-4670@3.4ghz and 16 gig RAM).
Way to go Bioware.

Hey guys! Just wanna say thanks for finally including co-op play. While I rather play co-op campaign, I am having a blast playing this mode.
But keep the updates coming!!
- 3 maps, even randomly generated, are too few. Make areas more open like the single-player campaign deserts and forests.
- More enemies; Can I haz dragons, pls?
- Make the camera closer, as in single-player
- More customization: people playing the same character will take way too long to look different from each other, cause making or getting armor is hard and also there are only two different armors for each characters and the others just change the color.
- There are so many nice armors in single player, so why on co-op most of them will only change its colors?
- More and better loot! Chests rarely gives something good, In ME3 some chests would always get you cool stuff
- Achievements
- Female characters are all ugly as hell! There are women playing this game and you bet they dont like it
- Players that get disconnected from the matches wont gain XP which is not fair
- Improve connection stability; I got too many disconnections so far
- Bug?? Katari and Necromancer high tier armors wont change the characters look, which is odd cause everyother character changes completely when
they get a new high tier armor.
- Bug: vases broken using ranged attack may regenerate and the only way they can be broken again is using close combat
- Bug: cant pick up gold from vases sometimes
Blizzard when patching Diablo 3, changed the way old spells looked by chaging animations and the spell itself, so I am sure you can also make a patch that could include nicer faces to female character.
Bioware, while this game is awesome in single-player, a lot of people will keep coming for co-op (I´ve spent tons os hours on both), so we need our incentive to keep playing it. The way it looks right now, it feels a little rushed. It is awesome, but needs more content
Thanks!

Just registered to ask if Bioware are out of their minds!!!!!!
After patch 3: Longer loading times, performance worse than before and WHAT THE F___, they said right after release that in tactical view the camera should not focus on the caracter if you click him once and now you tell me that you cannot fix this until now? So what was the patch actually for? JESUS CHRIST!

Yeah I'm not quite sure where the "females are ugly" sentiment is coming from. There are plenty of cute female characters in the game -- Leliana, Josephine, Scout Harding, etc. I personally like Cassandra, but I can see why people would find her unattractive. It's a good deal better than females in past Dragon Age games, less pointy chins. If you're complaining that you can't make an attractive looking custom face, well, this face creator is pretty comprehensive. You just got to keep at it until you get it right; designing attractive female faces isn't exactly easy.
