Fixed.

We shall smear goat's blood on their walls, as is our way.
Well after few hours of testing I must admit the 2 patch did almost completely eliminate stuttering problems that I had with mantle, fps is better to. There still may be something that I didn't see but for now its smooth sailing.
Damn, think i will just keep playing on my unpatched version since I had no issues and nothing in the patch notes looks worth it. I can live with the way Search works. Too risky to go from enjoying the game to spending potential hours trying to get things back to 'normal'
Well after the patch+hotfix I'm getting steady 40-60 fps in Haven(both on mantle and dx) using 14.12 driver with everything on ultra and msaa turned off. And I'm not experiencing any horrendous fps spikes that I had before. Hovewer stuff seems to start popping in at a MUCH closer distance now, so that may be the reason behind it.
Seriously can someone see if their games are in all aspects "fixed" this is not the first time people say something about this AND the lighting, im not gona apply this patch until someone confirms every damn setting is working on ultra because i did not got a new rig to be forced to a downgrade.
A few of us are still having issues with patch 2 and the hot-fix making the game annoying to play.
Draw distance is really bad and black and see-through holes in the rocks/mountains which always flicker.
Yep, thanks for the images IM NOT DOWNLOADIND THIS GARBAGE.
Just curious, but why is the Visual Studio update in there? I know the update just came out, and I ran the update through Windows Update Tuesday night. Frustratingly, the installation hanged and I had to kill it in Task Manager after letting it sit for a couple hours.
The reps on AHQ keep suggesting it, I don't know why. I think it addresses some of the old DirectX crashes and is just the latest update that includes that.
Ignoring the fact that the whole "- Female characters are all ugly as hell! There are women playing this game and you bet they dont like it" is completely bullshit, what does that even have to do with this patch? Unless it somehow bugged up your game so badly all the ladies in your game got replaced by pride demons, I don't see what the point of even saying that is.
That being said, I've seen a lot of people complain about things being even more laggy after applying the hotfix, so I'm going to just not update my game just yet. I've learned my lesson. You can fool me once with your luring patches, BioWare, but not twice. My game is working more or less fine now anyway, except for the party banter bug in a few zones, and a few minor quests being bugged, but I can live with that.
A woman here, no problems with the update and no problem with how the women look ingame. So your loss.
From now on, whoever looks at this image will see a chair.
A ginormous chair. Maybe you could put that between spoiler tags.

now it's a little one ![]()
Is it just me, or are the load times like twice as long now?
Yeahh... Its weird watching rocks and grass growing 20 feet infront of you. I understand that people say the Inquisitor is holy, but I didn't know that my PC is that holy till life springs forth around me wherever I go xD
Uhh.. I definitely don't want to start my game until this issue is resolved.
Pop in is the heavyweight champion of immersion killers...

I'm quoting a different post of yours, because I can't find the one about the walking tweet, but wanted to ask you. What is he talking about? How does not being able to do it for an analog stick have to do with adding it for mouse and board players? Aren't they the only ones who can't do it currently?
So, just from reading up, it seems like there's alot of stuttering that's more than likely caused by other things like background apps, updates, AV's etc.
Can Conal or Bioware make any kind of comment on stuttering being definitely caused by an in game setting or parameter? Anything you guys might have found, as it looks like a very condition-based occurrence.

Yes, pc players are not allowed to slow down and take in the view. Somebody posted the command list for walking and there were a ton of variables and numerical settings that, from what I could tell, did not look that basic at all. And Darrah tweeted last night that they were running into problems getting it to work (now, not 3 years ago, which tells you how high on the priority scale the pc version is, but that's another story.)
Also somebody talked about the issues possibly being, how do you 'mesh' a toggled walk into combat. what with all the different ways of entering combat in the game (via cutscene, etc), and not have your character locked into that mode. It's very technical, but from my pov, they are getting paid to figure this stuff out. Freakin do it.

I agree. I guess I don't get the technicalities of why it's so hard for keyboard when it's already available for the controller, which is far less versatile, but oh well.
Since this hotfix, I've crashed to desktop 3 times. I had no problems before. I hope they undo whatever it is they did. It's getting old, fast.
Bugs I have seen since the past (and not before):
- characters become unselectable in paused combat, tactical view, or view function keys; literally they lock down and can't be selected. Including getting back to your own character.
- modded items (not runes) not being able to relinquish pieces added; a staff unable to remove the blade or head, armor unable to remove the arm pieces ... when a few days ago I could.
Well, it was a good try but the hotfix did not work as advertised for me.
Still getting the, apparently, random crashes.
Mostly to white screen, sometimes black, and the occasional CTD.
Sometimes on start, sometimes in main menu, sometimes in cut-scenes, sometimes ... well, you get the idea.
Damnitall! I knew I shouldna' bought DA:I (yet). I KNEW it!
Now I care about Thedas again and I really want to be playing ... PLAYING!!!
Not constantly CTRL-ALT-DEL ing so I can kill it and start again only to repeat the process in 5-30minutes.
C'mon BioWare, please get this squared away.
I think in the future Bioware shoud fix stuttering first and shiny hair second. ![]()
DA:I still stuttering like hell, even after the hot(sucks)fix, even on the main menu and on the loading screen, and yes I tried every solution I saw on this forum.
I hope they fix it soon even if it means my caracter hair will be shiny (I can put a helmet on, problem solved).
My game is unplayable now
When I started Origin, it automatically patched. So I am SoL I believe.
Riddle me this, Batman: Before patch, my game ran well on medium-high settings on my Radeon HD 7800 series and my (terrible) Phenom 2 with minimal lag and fps issues. So why is it that since patching, my game stutters and momentarily freezes on LOW settings? How did Bioware mess this up this badly? At this point, they'd be better off pulling the patch to fix it instead of patching to repair their patch.
Yo dawg, I heard you like patches so here's a patch for your patch.
