I think Bioware need to get to grips with the way they're communicating because it's causing more problems than it's solving right now, no matter how admirable it is opening a dialogue with your customers. First off, start using UTC for your communication of times so everyone can extrapolate from there their local time. Secondly, put deadlines on when it will hit rather than vague references of "today" because whilst 'today' may only just be starting in West Coast North America, it's already 'tomorrow' in some parts of the world. So rather than saying "The patch will be released today", say, for example "The patch should be fully deployed by 1200 UTC on the 10th December". At least everyone then has an idea of where they are.

so you're saying they should release the patch from their beds at home? also, the only thing Blizard patches is an MMO, there things work differently, MMO meintenance usually happens at 1-6am

 

aaand blizzard is in france, bioware in canada (i know they speak french there too, but still a different time zone )

You guys are really making the case for more communication from bioware! They give you a heads up about their patching plans and you don't even give them 12 hours to release the patch before taking to the forums to complain.

Yea I'm wondering about ETA for the patch also. These crashes/bugs are killing my gameplay. I'm 100 hours in but by the time I got to exalted plains the problems were more prevalent. I NEED this now

^^this. Nintendo is a modern day example, pretty much every game they ship is 99% bug free. People love them for it, they ship a polished product always.

Well that's really what the point is, isn't it?  But you have people in here saying nonsense like "nobody ships a bug free game".  Well we're not asking them to.  We're EXPECTING a game with all the PROMISED FEATURES INCLUDED and basic functionality intact.  And I don't want to hear excuses about deadlines, MAKE THE GAME RIGHT AND SHIP IT WHEN IT'S DONE.  Programmers make games, not businessmen and stock holders.  Companies are losing sight of that and people are LETTING THEM be defending these practices that are becoming all too common with computer games lately.
