When will you fix the game? You applied patch 2 and it won't even launch now. wth did I pay for?

Yu should report that in the technical foru instead of here, the modo already said that before.
Maybe this is just me...but I notice half of us have issues and half do not and that the majority of people without issues are using Nvidia graphic cards. Can anyone else confirm this? I'm using an ATI Radeon 7800 (not a fabulous card...but had no issues before patch/hotfix cocktail) and can barely even get the game to get me past the Menu now. My drivers are up to date, I've disabled overlay and tried about everything I've seen mentioned - haven't yet tried throwing the goats but I suppose nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I'm using an HD 7950, with up to date drivers and it's working great, few fps dips here and there, but the stuttering in my game is completely gone. though it was working well even before the hotfix, and I didn't download patch 2.

I have a 7700. I can only tell you the way I'm running and you might be able to use something.
14.12 drivers, Windows 8.1, no Windows 7 compatibility, run as administrator, Mantle instead of DirectX, no command line arguments. I'm running at higher graphic settings after the patches but with long loading times. No stuttering, freezing, hitching, etc, etc.
I would agree, I have an Nvidia Titan rig, game is fine now (had cut scene crash a few times before patch. I also have an older Radeon 7800 machine, game ran, just the cutscene crash pre patch (lower settings than the Titan of course) now, it stutters, sometimes the dialof wheel or NPCs do not load, bits of buildings fail to load properly, fall under them a lot and, it crashes randomly, even if it isn't a cutscene.
Thankfully I don't have to play on that machine, but it's good for testing on lower end machines. If it actually crashes on my Titan rig, it really is a fault with the game itself period and not just a compatibility issue. What I question is if it's AMD (Radeon) GPUs or CPUs? My Ttitan is behind and Intel i7, the AMD card is behind an AMD CPU (old quad core). So is it an issue of AMD vs. Nvidia or AMD vs. Intel?
This is what happen with my game after the patch! I tried with the latest and with older graphic drivers but nothing change. Any suggestions?

I'm running an AMD chip with a 7700 (and things are fine).

if you got freezing and stuttering after the patch, check the solution that I have posted on page 137!!

Because this is a "Bioware" forum, I think the majority of posts are going to be complaints (other than the random positive post) ... and that makes sense to me as where else are the folks having problems going to get their squeaky wheels greased. Not really sure about the AMD/Nvidia question, though ...
Something you (and others) might find interesting is a read through the DA:I thread at Overclock.net ... it's generally just user banter about the game, the vast majority of it being good comments as it's sort of a thread to discuss what you dig about the game as well as get advice on problems. But compared to here at the Bioware forum, there is a much great tack towards positive discussion.
I've read quite a few posts over there from users of both AMD (Mantle) and Nvidia and many have reported greater results with Mantle ...
But go figure, eh?
Anyway, here is the thread:

Is your resolution scaling set at 100 ?? because it looks like it isn't, try changing it to 100 and also try fullscreen/windowed fullscreen.

I'm running on high settings with a 7850 1gb with no issues. Using win 7 and the 14.12 driver. Fresh install of windows and the game. Nothing else really on it. Oh, deleted raptr which came with the amd drivers.

I love you. It was the resolution scaling. All the things I have tried all day
And again I love you ![]()

I tried using DSR once with keeping all my in-game settings the same, including maxxed multisamping. My computer was not happy.
I'm going to give it a shot again with turning multisampling off to see if it looks any better than full multisampling @ 1080p.
My specs are:
i7 4820K @ 3.70GHz
GTX 780 ti Superclocked w/ ACX Cooler
16gb RAM
I haven't done any overclocking...
You're not going to get good performance out of DAI at max settings with DSR with any single card right now. Techspot.com's benchmarks found that even Nvidia's latest and greatest, the GTX 980, only reached 59 frames per second at 1920x1200, and that was on the Ultra preset (which has a couple things actually not set to max, like tessellation and textures) and just 2x MSAA. Though if you're supersampling, that kind of renders multisampling redundant.
I'm running with all textures on high, PP quality on ultra and PP AA on high, effects quality on ultra, 4x MSAA and Ambient occlusion SSAO, my GC is a 7750, it's get solid 30 - 35 fps most of the time, since I play tactically, it's enough Frames for me, AMD Omega driver really made a difference, haven't applied patch 2 yet, you can play offline without having to download the patch

would say exact the opposite, first directx errors are mainly a nvidia problem and the game was supported from amd, so its highly unlikely that there is the majority of problems. basically i would say at the moment the biggest source of problems are drivers and third party programs, its the only way to explain why two identical systems can have such a different performance

Ok, as a tip i would turn off MSAA and turn up other settings on your system. MSAA is one of the most performance-taxing settings in the game and the benefit is minimal, especially if you're using post processing AA already. You'll see a greater benefit if you turn up something like mesh, water effects, terrain, tessellation, etc. What resolution are you playing at?
King's Quest sure has held up well...
Anyways, I want to echo thoughts that the draw distance on foliage and terrain (the distance from the player at which the graphics card renders or "draws" objects, making them appear on screen) seems to have been reduced by the patch on PC, resulting in more obvious environment pop-in when walking around. If this was done to improve performance, then it's a band-aid that didn't really fix anything and is just negatively affecting the experience for people with high-end gaming PCs that can handle those draw distances. If it's true that the patch reduced draw distances, then I would like to ask that this be undone in the next patch.
Anyone experiencing serious short draw distances? (Grass growing when you move closer, Trees and objects popping up as you get closer, more obvious in rocky areas where you can actually see a "ring" of detailed pebbles and rocks not wider than 10 feet around your PC and beyond that "ring" the detail of the terrain has a very muddy texture to it. I'm experiencing all of this on the ultra/fade touched settings only after Patch 2 and hotfix as well as workaround fix.
Growing grass example:
Is someone seeing into this issue?, a lot of people has this problem, some dude recently posted this video:
