Is someone seeing into this issue?, a lot of people has this problem, some dude recently posted this video:

Yeah.  This may actually be intentional, as it's not hugely obvious and could have been a quick-fix attempt to address performance issues.  After all, the less objects you're making the graphics card draw, the faster the game is going to run.  BioWare really should undo this if they changed it to be this way.

if you got freezing and stuttering after the patch, check the solution that I have posted on page 137!!

Those solutions didn't work for me, however I went and disabled the onboard intel graphics in the EFI (bios) and the stuttering went away.

CPU is a 4690K, motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97M-D3H. Before the patch I wasn't experiencing any issues.

Hello

So i have been playing this game since it came out, and i have had no problem with lag, a few crashes from time to time during cutscenes but not a big concern. After the new patch however i have massive fps drop (not only in the game but my entire pc) once in a while, it just completely freezes up for about 1-10 seconds, the dialogues and the music continues though so it becomes completely out of sync afterwards.

Does anyone know why this might occur, is it NVIDIA of the newest patch that makes these awful drops... or neither?  :)

Thank you.  :)

If you have a dedicated graphics card, you should disable the integrated graphics chip either way.

Seeing how many problems the latest update has,I'm so glad that I didn't update it and looked to the forums first, now I'm keeping my ass offline, damn from what I see the game runs and looks worse than how it was at first

Well, I feel bad for those who have issues, but as always you get a somewhat skewed impression on forums like this as it's the ones who have issues who post about it. I've had no issues (that I've noticed) at all with the game, either with the first patch, the second patch or the latest update. It's completely stable, runs fine and looks great (everything on max) - and I haven't noticed any bugs either.

Hey everyone,

The hotfix for Patch 2 on PC is now live. Thanks for all your patience on this, we appreciate it.

Any ETA on when this hotfix will actually be available? Or maybe it's not on Origin and we have to download it somewhere?

Is there a corresponding version that we can check (I suppose it's still hidden in the file Origin\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\installerdata.xml?)

This downloaded for me within Origins.

If you've been connecting with Origin, you have it.  But the easiest way to check is right-click DA:I in the Origin client and "Check for Updates".  It'll tell you if you're up to date.

Anybody heard anything about a possible patch 3? I do not expect it until January but one can never now...

Yes i agree, there are people here that can run the game on ultra no problem before the patch and we dont want to play a downgraded version of the game seriously, this should be an option only for people with less powerful rigs.

Hm, seems like Origin has yet another bug here... could you please tell me what version you have in this file?

[Origin game installation directory]\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\installerdata.xml

Is this what you see at the top? (well, if the hotfix version is shown there, I'm not even sure, so little visibility with Bioware...)

<gameVersion version="1.0.0.3" />

Thanks in advance!

I have tried, but it just says DA:I is up to date. I'm not entirely trusting this Origin client though, I had to reinstall DA: O completely the other day because it just wouldn't run anymore, without any clear reason other than a message that I had to re-install it. And then of course, I had to clear the cache in order to be able to download it again ... this extra layer has always been junk. Doesn't even show the correct language but a mix of foreign ones, weird (even though it's set to "English").

Well there's definitely going to be a patch 3, as the devs have said some specific issues not addressed in patch 2 will be addressed in a later patch.  No word on when that patch might come, though.  I don't expect it until after the holidays, though.  After all, all those hard working programmers need their vacation time!

I'd love to speculate early to mid January... with a hot-fix in late January *ba-dum-tsh*. If we're talking releasing dates that is. Do hope the next one is solid and not sordid though. As to the content I'm unsure. It sounds like there are quite a few people left in an unplayable state so they cannot simply move into the what they originally stated would be the next patch which is awful.

I'd find it interesting if they didn't release some PC control improvements and fix a few obvious graphic bugs like the melf before the Christmas crowd gets the game and installs it over the holidays.  And by interesting I mean it'd be pretty derpy.  Do they really want that additional flooding of the support network over the holidays?  I guess it could go either way.

Edit to add:  Have you looked at AHQ lately?  There has to be a patch before the holidays, probably with some technical fixes + whatever else may be ready/cosmetic.  Too many people inexplicably unable to run or running badly after patch 2.

I have not. Just reading what people are posting here I am led to believe there are quite a lot of individuals that deserve fixes sooner rather than later. If they could roll in some solid fixes to the pc control schema and some UI loving all the better. Until then I believe I will stick with my depressing guess for Patch 3 :P Assuming Patch 3 is to continue with its original intent and not roll into fixing Patch 2.

Youare right ZipZap2000, I didnt play the game. Being well informed makes up for that.

There is enough videos online to know how the game is played, to know the content , what is the core system and so on.

I was having high hopes the the DAI title, it was possible that DAI could redeem BioWare plus EA in my eyes but did not.

Good thing I was cautious, no buyers remorse and saved 70 bucks.

so stop wasting people's time in this thread if you don't play the game ;)

Just a proposition, but do you have an idea about a release date of a new Patch ?

Because the Patch 2 had, like, kill my game, litteraly. Tonight, I just wanted to continue my playthrough, and it was impossible to launch the game, he even didn't load for a second...

The only solution I've found was to do a restore system to a date before the patch 2 was released and download again his pityful update. Now, I can play the game, that's great, but I've this on sreen now...

1418419010-daihateme.png

So, by upgrading the game twice because this patch thinks it'll be funy to stop running my game even if I did nothing wrong. You say that my saves are some kind of corrupted and I'll have to waiit for continue my playthrough ! CURSE YOU BIOWARE ! I know that your patch is a poorly programmed update, but THIS, crash my game for no reason, downgrade my graphics to Ultra to Xbox360 "worse than low" and corrupting my saves, I don't know if I have to say something more...

('scuse my poor english, I'm just a Frenchy Froggie from Orlais !)

I would say there absolutely must be another patch, if not multiple patches/updates before the 25th of this month, for the reasons you mentioned.

Good for you.

Out of my 4 friends who still play this, 2 can't play.

None of the 4 post on BW forums.

That's just faulty logic - that only people with issues post here.

Plenty of people with no issues post here - mostly guys trying to help, and plenty of people with no issues and those with issues never visited the BW forum in their life.

I've no idea if this is to do with the new patch or not, but I noticed just today (after installing patch 2 + hotfix) that after my quizzy died in combat, she was no longer able to "load" all three of the focus tiers (despite unlocking them with inquisition perks). Now it only loads the first bar, and then doesn't progress beyond that! It's so weird. Anyone else seen this?

It's much easier to find the loot now. Another improvement would be to use contrasting colors on the highlighted items. Being able to auto-walk to loot by clicking it would be a welcome addition as well. One can wish, no? ;)

I'm still having lots of fun with DA:I. I look forward to future (PC) patches, though. I'm running out of spell/talent slots.
