Fascinating. According to BSN, the patch, and especially the PC hotfix, didn't fix the game at all, and may have actually made it worse. Since I have no experience with the game, I don't know if these are legitimate claims, or typical exaggerations from a fanbase that is determined to be offended by everything that BioWare does.

My copy every so often would crash when attempting to save. I can't recall crashing any time prior to the patch. No doubt hyperbole and crowd wisdom play into it but even if on average - taking one troll report to one honest report of those that are ctd'ing, bsod'ing and stuttering horrendously, it's still quite a few individuals. That's of those who have taken the time to post. There could potentially be more. But within the realm of possibility either of us could be correct.

I didn't touch the graphical settings, they've been set to automatic. The game runs smoothly and over 60 fps, so I've never fiddled with them as I saw no need...for the 10 minutes that I've played. <_<  I don't really want to lower the settings because my PC can more than handle the game that's why I posted here to see if I'm doing something wrong or is that a problem for someone else. I'm currently re-downloading the game so we'll see. My friend who is also playing the game has absolutely no problems and we have the same specs down to the case.

Well thats why those options are in the game so that people can fiddle with them to find the most optimal configuration for their system. My game also ran very smooth and all, up until the CTD, but after i dropped AO from HBAO to SSAO i no longer have any CTD at all and if you and your friend have same hardware then your problem might be with some software you have running in the background or some of your hardware is faulty.

So, I come back here every few days, to "Show only Bioware posts". Surely there will be updates or input for us?

The first actual bug to be "announced", from 18th of Nov. In its own tweet nonetheless, with a promise of "when" it was going to be fixed. This is such a blatant lie;

Mike Laidlaw@Mike_Laidlaw

Tactical view force-centering when switching party members is a bug and will be addressed in the next patch. Continuing to monitor feedback.

So if they give a timetable and then fail to meet it, they're liars. But if they don't give a timetable at all, they're lazy jerks who don't care.

I dont agree with you, but you are entitled to your opinion. However, I fail to see how it is relevant to the tweet I quoted from Mike Laidlaw from almost a month back.

Of course you're right. The first thing I did is check if everything is fine with the hardware and tested some other graphically intensive games and had no problems I'll see if the changing some stuff up will help, if that doesn't work I'll have to check the hardware and software again, Thanks for your responses. :)

EDIT: Also I have nothing running in the backround except AV and Origin thats "disabled".

I want to know where to get my hands on one of the copies of DA:I that the BioWare QA team and all the "professional" critics used.

On any platform.

Apparently none of them experienced any of the problems we are.

I've seen mention of "mild" stuttering at worst, but nothing of the major problems so many of us are forced to deal with.

If they truly tested it as they should have there's no way they could all have been so lucky.

The only conclusion is that there exist copies of DA:I for each platform that are not the crippled/broken versions we were sold.

We want those ...

I read this morning that actually some of them did: they acknowledged in their review that they had to restart the game (PS) several times to get it to work ... and then still gave it 95%.

So my mage has lost her face paint, I assume this is apart of the scars bug too.

Any possible way to get it back? Anyway to reenter character creator on PC or restore the original coding that was created when making the character?

Set the "Mesh Quality" setting to at least High.

Patch 2 is now live for Xbox One.

Can we expect information this week regarding further patching, Conal?

Since the PC patch I have had 1 really buggy scenario where during the Templar mission my characters kept bugging out and they would stand upstraight with both arms out and hover on the ground. Other than that i have been bug free and the patch fixed the banter bug for me apparently even though I guess it didnt have anything to do with it. Also it's impossible to trigger the ser Barris promotion unless you have another judgement qued up.

I didn't have any other bugs other than no banter before the patch.

We have the same PC. I had no issues with 1.0 other than occasional crashing to desktop every so often. I didn't patch after I read the reports. I'm playing just fine.

Yeah I wish I had done the same :crying:

All the shadows on hair are flickering terribly after patch 2.  Don't know what happened but it's pretty distracting.

I finally braced myself, and patched my game (on PC). After reading the posts in this thread, I was pleasently surprised, that after patching my game runs smoothly. It actually ran much better than before, even when I had not had that much trouble before, either. Some of the graphics are a bit worse now, and I am going to see if I can up them a little bit, but otherwise I'm happy atm. I've played the 'tutorial' part with a new character without any crashes or other problems.

I did clean reboot of my computer, and cleared the Origin caches before I started my game. Forgot to use CCleaner, but that didn't seem to be needed. I also updated my graphic drivers to the 344.80 driver update, clean install.

AMD Phenom II x6 1055T ~2.8GH

8GB RAM

Windows 7 64 bit

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 4038 GB

Ambient occlusion off, mesh quality high, texture quality high, tessalation medium, multisample antialiasing off, everything else on medium, playing on a windowed fullscreen.

Of course. Do you really expect anything else? Haters gonna hate. Bioware will not ever be able to do anything to satisfy those people, short of by ascending to godhood and overriding the laws of time and space.

I'm on Xbox One and installed the patch yesterday. Before it the banter was working ok-ish, a little far between but ok, but now I have almost no party banter at all. :(

Anyone else notice this?

Also in Coles cutscene after making him more human, it's now raining inside the restaurant.

The search lights on the radar is great tho and the patch has fixed some bugs in conversations so I don't have to skip ahead. So thanx for that but please fix the banter quickly.

Not playing for more than 2 weeks now. Just patched the game a week ago to listen to my characters voice and to see, if his arms (male elf) are still broken. Nothing changed, turned off the game. Oh, not to forget that there was no stronghold, when I went out of the keep. Walls missing and flags flying in the air (at least for 10 seconds) This is no fun. Shame on you, Bioware.

I don't want to be polite, I don't want to be constructive. You know why?

I am not your f*****g beta tester.

I'm a customer who wanted to play a finished game!

You got my money, NOW GIVE ME MY FU****G PLAYABLE VERSION OF DAI!

AND FIX THOSE GOD DAMN BROKEN ARMS OF MALE ELFS, IT LOOKS RIDICULOUS!

And to all of you who have a problem with mentioning the broken arm concern: Stop fighting each other! Of course we all payed for this game and want it to work. ALL OF OUR CONCERNS ARE DAMN ELIGIBLE!

Go ahead and bump the texture quality to ultra. You have plenty of vram.

You have an almost identical setup to mine, and the only issue I was having with performance was once I got to an NPC populated area (first real issue was crossroads). When panning the camera the game had a sutter while it had to swap out textures constantly. The issue went away completely once I went from high to ultra textures.

I am guessing that at the extra allocated vram meant that a greater number of textures could remain in vram while in populated areas, and fewer textures needed to be streamed and swapped to vram while exploring these more texture varying areas.

Justt something to keep in mind.

Bioware are very incompetent. This latest patch has made things a million times worse, there is a constant stutter and everything runs in slow motion regardless of which settings use and my system being up to date and high spec, characters vanishing from screen and others not appearing until 3-5minutes after wait at their spot then the character starts flickering on and off then back on again...only then do they become visible. The dialogue bugs are still not fixed, broken quest triggers are still broken, they have not improved the PC controls either. Bioware are a joke at this point, one of the most incompetent developers around. Fix the ****** game Bioware.

My first thought when I saw that was that of a 6th Blight, but I guess it's different people working on that stuff.... :/
