I said, and you come close, that while we argue with each other we are expending time and energy better directed towards the source of our collective problems.

I'm not expending any time and energy. :)

It's not like we're missing out on any meaningful back and forth with the Bioware community rep that should be in here...

MULTIPLAYER DLC is out, but the team making this content is another team, guys. Delaying bug fixes has nothing to do with realeasing a multiplayer DLC :D

Btw, I am glad they added it.

Oh ? Are you an insider ? *_*

If not then sorry if I've trouble to beleive you without providing a source.

Just for the purposes of feedback I did not experience any freezing or stuttering before patch 2 and the hotfix. I do now seem to be suffering a lot of freezes I didn't previously experience in terms of actual game playing and the loading times now seem gigantic compared to pre-patch.  I'm not overtaxing the graphical settings on my old PC so it is a little frustrating for the performance to drop. For info only specs are:

Windows 7 64 bit, 2gb Nvidia GTX750 Ti, Phenom II x 4 840 3.2 ghz, 8gb DDR3 ram

Installed patch 2, the game runs fine now actually.

still needs tweaks to gameplay, but it is playable..

also i understand why people complain about the controls, but you get used to it

This thread makes it look like that because it's mostly you unfortunate folk who can't play the game for some random reason...

Myself and a crap ton of other folk (as evidenced in this thread at overclock.net) are having no problems whatsoever.

Best of luck getting it sorted...

And hell, that goes for both my home desktop machine and also a MSI G70 laptop. Plays perfect on high settings on the laptop and ultra on desktop. No crashes all ... did nothing special for either machine (both Windows 7) other than disabling all of the Origin notifications and "in game settings."

Two different machines and the game plays perfectly on both ... nothing special going on here.

How do you explain that? I highly suspect the number of PC users successfully running the game is FAR greater than those of you with issues.

I don't get how you can compare this thread to the one on an enthusiast website. People at overclock typically build their own pcs' and as such tend to use a higher quality of parts for their builds.Your MSI G70 is what? It's a gaming laptop. What are gaming laptops considered to be? Desktop replacements.A lot of people don't have the extra cash to put towards highend gaming rigs. I don't see any reason for you to come over here and take a poke at people who are struggling to get this game to work on their rigs other than you have nothing better to do.

So this is why there's been no announcements for almost a week...

I suspect they have different teams working on new content vs. patching.  It's definitely frustrating, however, to see the business continue on while many people (on all platforms) are having issues.  They can announce new "paid for" content, but not content regarding the patch(es).  Some communication here would quell so many irritated customers.

I'll let everything slide if they incorporate the walk toggle in patch 3 and they release patch 3 before Christmas.

After the mess DA 2 was, I was very reluctant into buying Inquisition. I might just skip on their next release.

You know, I remember Skyrim being riddled with bugs, but there weren't so many things missing. And everything that was missing, was fixed thanks to the ability to mod the game and the modding community.

Yea, I was lucky enough to not get into Skyrim until a few months after release.  And the modding was indeed outstanding.  I enjoyed playing it because I knew if there was ever something that really seemed off to me in game, I could load up that Nexus page and search for something that would help.

It's interesting, Skyrim used the wasd method, and I had absolutely no problem with it, mostly since it was a single character (not party-based) game without a Pause feature.  For Inquisition, I am hoping they incorporate mouse navigation and auto attack so I'm not forced to use wasd to play it.  But I'd honestly have no problem using wasd.

But not with all the quest bugs, dialogue issues, etc I've been reading about.

Guys...don't even bother comparing independent Bioware of the good olden days and Eaware.  I was so pissed by the aggressiveness I saw between peers on this forum that I took the time to seriously research the 10K-A of EA last night.

For those of you in the small majority of people who haven't been enlightened polluted by a legal education ;) , a 10K-A is the mandatory annual fillings, to put it simply, that have to be filed by every listed company falling under the 'jurisdiction' of the Securities and Exchange Commission, when there is a significant change within the company (or it's annual, I can't remember and can't be bothered to check).

And it's ****** depressing.

Every problem - and every 'conspiracy theory' on this forum (I love this concept, soooooo convenient for corporations and other big entities) - can - and should, imho-  be explained by, for instance, the legal binding agreements existing between EA and Microsoft, and other things that are too complicated to explain here.

I won't depress you further by translating legalese for you guys. But if any other legal minds is young enough or passionate enough to do so, be my guest.

Well yea, it didn't take a law degree to see that that the vast majority of all pre-release content Bioware was showing was 100% XBox material (and nothing else), paid for and provided by Microsoft.

What's infuriating is that PC version of the game, which is played on Microsoft's OS, was given little to no thought at all during the 3+ years of production.  No QA testing, no quality control testing, no respect given to the previous titles in the series.  No nothing.

All the time & money was directed at the console versions.

Man people forgot what a buggy hot mess origins and awakening were on release? Memory leak, dialogue bugs, quest bugs.

I mean I'm having issues too but origins was no golden goose either. Talking about the golden days is a bit...odd.

Oh believe me I agree.

I'm just not sure why DAO is being put on a pedastal when it was hardly a shining example of stability itself.

I'm a bit disappointed, I'm having much worse performance after the patch. Loading screens taking longer, stuttering, CTD, plus the game looks much worse. I play on medium settings with meshes up to high, and yes I do understand about the shader settings being previously set to Ultra. But I don't understand how I was playing seemingly without issue when they were on ultra, but now that they're on medium it's worse?

Because DAO did not also have a retarded pc control scheme at the same time it needed stability patches.

I've beaten the game on PC several times. It's clunky yes but it's functional.

*snip*

Cute.

Haven't you admitted to not even having played the game?

So you're saying the controls are retarded without having even tried them?

Honestly the ONLY thing I found completely off to use was tac cam. Mostly because it's highly unintuitive.

They clearly messed something else up with the hotfix.

the difference is when patch 2 came out, they were on here collecting info within hours of the patch release.

it's been almost a week. now.

@Brogan...it's even worse than that....like....a lot.  for example, for every patch done after the first, EA has to pay Microsoft for the whole compulsory negotiation that has to occur between them...and so on.  hence the delay. no patch can be issued on one platform (except for the first) and you have to negotiate.  And on and on and on...

There are even some things about company values, i.e. corporate bs, to be incorporated in each business unit, if I interpreted correctly, the silence is compulsory I would guess by reading between the lines.  and on an on and on.

Privately-owned, not listed, companies are the way to go for the game industry, is my honest conclusion

For me,

Most desired feature:

- Walk/run toggle or Hold to walk button

Highly desired features:

- Mouse look toggle option

- Mouse rebinding

- Click to move / loot / talk

Hopeful features:

- Tactical camera zoom / automatic angle

- Queue options in tac cam

- Ability to drag and select companions

- Select all party members option

- Mouse scroll on map edge or at else mouse pan using middle mouse button

- Tactics screen overhaul with much more options

I would be content with just the walk toggle, would be very happy with the next 3 options, and would be extremely impressed if they have everything else.

... would be very disappointed if nothing at all is addressed, or if the walk toggle doesn't even make it.

Negotiate with whom?

What I mean is, if Bioware has to patch a bug that only affects the pc version, does an XBox specialist have to sign off on it?
