"I don't want to hold down a button to auto attack" and "I don't like the default keybinds therefore I'm going to complain until I have my way" are hardly legitimate concerns. But hey, don't let me stop you from believing otherwise. I never stated this game is without flaws. The things you people are complaining about are matters of preference.

What are you doing here then? You've come to tell us this? For what purpose? If you are happy with what you got let us try to be happy as well.

I've stopped playing after patch 2 when I found out they didn't implemented the walk toggle fix. This is a legitimate concern for me and for probably thousands of PC players which enjoy role playing.

And actually, I find interesting that you've posted many times around this threads. I see you've gone out of your way just to argue with people who are complaining. I imagine that with over 5000 posts you must be a pretty big fan. But please...you're wasting your time and ours...and any bioware employee who reads this thread and cares only about complaints and numbers not posts such as yours.

Interesting. Because you are doing exactly that. The games controls are not to your personal liking, and therefore it must be broken and in need of immediate fixing. There are more concerning issues with this game that people are experiencing, actual bugs, not design choices that you just happen to disagree with.

not saying that guy one of them but im been gaming nearly twenty years now. i found most people either have worst problems then others and just fake it. in a few cases people claiming actually admitting not owning or playing the game yet. so i dont put to much stock people like them.

Some people are holding off from playing the game yes, but they wish to so that their first time experience isn't tainted.

Like for me, even though I consider ME3 Bioware's best work (after the extended cut + citadel), my first time experience still has left a bad taste in my mouth. But this only happens in story-based games for me. Where as, my first time experiences with previous Bioware titles was highly memorable. So I don't blame them at all.

Besides those who are holding off - many have played the game only to recognise flaws that they consider dealbreakers.

I have over 130 hours into this game among 2 files. My first one is a mage, with the brit accent. Loved the character but I've been a rogue in the last two games and it was calling me. I shelved my mage and went with a restart. I had 60 hours or so experience, knew from some mistakes, and looked forward to the "real" playthrough.

I decided to handle the side quests first, pretty early. As many as I could before getting Skyhold. Then, after getting Skyhold I embarked on my optional quests. Loved my character, human male rogue, with the american accent (to differentiate him from my mage and help me immerse myself into a more familiar accent as I am in Canada.)

70 hours in and I talk to an old, familiar friend. I'm sent elsewhere. I go elsewhere. Lots of fighting. A little talking. I don't quite notice it at first. Probably because I was already familiar with it from the first playthrough. Yet let me tell you... attending a ball shortly thereafter made it painfully obvious: My Inquisitor was abducted, put into a pod, and a clone had taken his place. A clone with an accent. I assume nobody mentions the change to his face because they assume he's just putting on airs now, but I know. He isn't me.

Game breaking.

Can the game be played? Yes. Am I experience ANY of the comp issues, crashing, graphics issues... no, I am not. Yet my game is rendered as ruined as if I couldn't load it.

What's worse is they claimed a fix in the patch. They lied. It isn't a fix. It's a preventative measure against it happening to anyone new. They "fixed" nobody. And there are too many threads from before and after launch concerned about the lack of in game customization that it isn't excusable to be non-addressed. Except by some cryptic "someday there will be a paid DLC with a mirror" that has been offered. Hell, the IN GAME character creator is broken. It does not show you lip shine properly. Blush or complexion. Any eye shadow effects. Scars intensity. Not at all represented as seen in game while in the CC at the start.

So. They're working on the game itself, as it is coded to crash atm. I understand this affects more people and is priority 1. That's fine. But either give us console commands to re-initiate the char gen, or hotfix the mirror in game, or dammit just put in Settings>Audio>Voice and Settings>Gameplay>CharGen and let us handle it ourselves IN game. Solves a bunch of issues easily. If it can't be done first, hey that's fair. Give an estimated timeline. Even if it is "Half past whenever we fix the main issues" because at least that tells us you are going to fix it. Right now, officially, BioWare broke my game and has said nothing about fixing it. Period. At all. No timeline. No assurance it will be done. Nothing.

My initial point here:

Yes, many of us are waiting to play this game until BioWare gets its house in order. No excuses.

I have a very similar problem.Frequently it wont recognize the controller. With the controller on I go to printer and devices, right click on the XBOX wireless controller, game controller settings, properties and fool around with a few buttons. Then I enter the game normally. It almost always recognizes the controller. If not then I check the game settings in the menu.Sometimes it isn't set to game-pad.I don't know why this happens sometimes.Otherwise I have to restart the damn PC.

Doens't work for me :( But the sad part is, it was working perfectly fine before the patch. Oh well, I guess I'll just play something else until this is fixed.

Thank you for posting this. The DirectX crashes are really beginning to wear me down. =[  Hopefully they'll get it sorted out for the next patch. If not, I'll probably just put the game down for a while. It's an awesome game but I'm losing stamina.

Hi, ppl. I'm having random crashes to desktop with no error messages since patch 2.

I have updated to AMD Omega, my game settings are like always...

Anyone else experiencing this?

This crashes seems to not to be caused by stress moments, as it crashes sometimes just while opening the radial menu.

All games have flaws and glitches. And I have been a fan of Bioware for years and years, since Knights of the Old Republic (The Original) not the fubar MMORPG. 90% of the time their games are worthy of receiving the GOTY Awards. Even DA:I, for me had issues, I kept getting the 'Disc Not Readable' after playing a few minutes, so I was starting, saving and rebooting and eventually it worked itself out or they got it fixed. Only ME3 other then the KOTOR MMORPG did I ever complain about, in fact I love DA II when many others disliked it.

My biggest complaints about Inquisition are superficial despite the numerous glitches and flaws, like the pigmentation of skin, hair colors and those awful Japanese Cosplay Hairstyles! The only real technical issues that annoy me are audio really both in conversation or during battles when it either goes mute or sounds are delayed or twisted.

I have a question about the hot fix. Does it download automatically? I think my mesh quality may still be set to low (or at least I'm not especially impressed by the visuals; I did get scars to show up in the CC so that makes me think it's fine?).

Got this from ea answer hq user middlefngrsalute in one of the longest and most ignored (by devs and ea supportstaff) threads

http://answers.ea.co...3982597/page/70

"I have been in contact with Tier 2 Support, and they are investigating the draw distances on many items,

people that are crashing or having high system resource usage, may be affected by this "bug/glitch"

where render distances are abnormally high, or conversly, abnormally low.

The way it was explaned to me, the game is rendering things at some astronomically long distance or

extremely close if not negative distances, which is causing the resource usage to skyrocket, and hence

causing crashes, stuttering, and poor performance, lock ups, freezes, etc., regardless of what people

have thier settings at.

It is being investigated, from what I have been told.

I am hoping that a working patch will be implemented soon.

I have several issues that have been escelated to the studio,

And several that are being researched by tier 3 support, before being forwarded on, to the studio.

I will re-post as soon as I have any more information.

_UPDATE_

The game is currently misallocating the system resources, cpu, gpu, ram, pagefile and vram.

this is due to bugs in the coding for Speed Tree, and draw distances.

this is what is causing high usage spikes across all (random access and temporary) storage

and processing media, which in turn causes the stuttering, lags, crashes, etc.

Best case scenario... a few patches....

Worst case scenario... game pulled, and reworked from the ground up.

All of the issues that everyone is facing, regardless of platform, cannot be fixed, player-side.

IT IS A CODING ISSUE within the game, that BioWare will have to address themselves.

Now please do not take offense, or take this the wrong way.

I have tried many of the fixes in this forum, myself, with little to no improvement, however,

my system does seem to be more stable overall.

Many of the suggestions are really good, and do benefit stability, and longer game play between

crashes (with Nvidia cards) and slightly less jittery performance with AMD and Mantle api.

However, THEY ARE NOT FIXES! more like bandaids that fall off after they get wet or dirty,

or the adhesive wears off....

I have tried both Nvidia, and AMD graphics cards, and I am most stable with AMD using the Mantle API.

This does not mean go out and buy amd graphics cards, just to play this game.

what it means is that the game needs an overhaul of a great degree, to be more

Nvidia GPU friendly, and more stable overall.

Lastly, from the response I received earlier today, (12-16-14) from the tier 2 reps,

is that the studio is actively addressing this issue.

And we should be seeing a patch/update in the very near future, unfortunately

they could not give me a specific date.

I am expecting another call back fom them early next week. I will report again, when I have more information.

-side note-

because of the misallocation of resources, it is suspected that the crashes (with nvidia gpus) is being caused by timeouts.

Basically what is happening is that Origin and Windows are arguing over who is in control of the game, and this is what causes

the dxgi_device hung_    error...

and why the graphics card drivers are re-enabled by windows once you get out of the game and close it down.

complete powerdowns or system restarts are usually caused by over taxing your PSU... drawing too many amps.

just double check that the wattage and amperage rating for you GPUS and cpu, do not over draw your PSU.

for instance, I need to upgrade my PSU, though I have not powered off or down during game play, but here are my stats...

psu antec 900w 80% + Bronze certified.

I have 4 +12v rails at 40 Amps each across 850Watts

my AMD dual R9720 DCUII OC 2GB each draw 500 watts @ 38Amps

and my AMD FX-8350 8-core @ 4Ghz draws 125w

so technically I should upgrade my PSU just due to power consumption of my GPUs alone...

-also- for those of you using nvidia gpus, roll your driver back to the 344.65 drivers. do a cutom clean install,

and ONLY INSTALL the graphics driver and physx. (unless you need audio for hdmi)(or the 3d drivers for 3d hardware)

I found that GPU usage was nearly halved, when I did this.... from a pegged 100% to about 50-60% usage.

(and that was with dual GTX 760 DCUII OC 2GB in SLI + GTX460 (physx))

(I have not tried the new 347.09 beta driver, as of yet, so cannot comment on it)

for AMD users update to the newest 14.12 drivers you should see similar results

to roll back your game to pre-patch....

go into your origin app.

click on origin, in the upper left hand corner, and select application settings

on the general tab, uncheck automatically keep my games up to date

then go to your "my games" page

right click on dragon age inquisition

and select uninstall

when you are done uninstalling the game,

use ccleaner or other disk cleaning software to make sure it cleans the $MFT free space

(this will take a while depending on how many and what size drives you have.)

once that is done restart your system, and origin.

re-install dragon age inquisition.

when it is complete it will tell you that there are updates available

DO NOT install them.

and you shold be back to pre-patch condition.

also, unless you have an SSD, make sure you have defragged your hard drive after re-installing the game.

it's 30GB+ people!!

another little tip:

flickering trees, lanscape, grass....

go to your ingame settings,

your screen settings ... make the refresh rate just below your screens native refresh rate.

(i.e. monitor native refresh 60HZ, change setting to 59.94HZ) [you may have to restart the game to get this to work]"

Oh crap, doesn't sound very bright for the future frostcrappy engine. Doesn't ea have some people with coding experience on that engine, some small game released some time ago? Field of Battle 4 or something? Can't Bioware ask them for help?

"origin and Windows fighting over who has control of the game".

Pretty much what has caused every single crash-to-desktop for me (I've had no directX errors, TG). Origin app data use spikes every time, so suspected as much. Glad someone with more programming nouse could confirm.
