Very interesting to see the problems some people seem to have with the game.

I'm not a hardcore gamer - so excuse me if I haven't found as many bugs as players who already played 300+ hours, I only played 80.

But i think that's still enough to get a proper view onto the pc-port.

I have exactly found 2 problems in the game, however, i suppose that only one is really game related.

First one: In Emprise de Lion i cannot start the quest with the ash ?!? on the ground as i simply can not click on it. Does not work. Strange.

Other one just recently happend, my system crashed 3 times while being on the mission "champions of the just".

I have no found no other bugs, except for being pulled in the air sometimes when fighting a dragon.

Dragon Age Inquisition is one of the Games, imho, that came out (for me at last) almost bug-free. I definetely have to give credit to Bioware for such a great game, and I can tell you, I also have been around playing video games for a long time, (I think it started 10 years ago) none I played was perfect. There have always been Bugs. There will be bugs. But Dragon Age is a game, that has few of them, and none are game-breaking. Just compare it to the other games that came out this year. I won't go into detail here, but you know what i'm talking about.

The patches wouldn't have been necessary for me, the game was running fine without them, but it also runs fine with them, so no problems here. The only thing I had to do when the first patch came out was to set the command line.

My thoughts why there are getting more bugs in the newest games: It just that the games are so much more complex than 5 years ago. DA:O had it's faults as well, aside from being a great game. I didn't encounter any bugs there, but to be honest there was not that much to do wrong there. DA:I however is a much, much bigger game, and the few bugs i encountered are not enough for me to say that DA:I is a bad (ported) game.

I encountered only a few bugs in the campain as well. But when i went to Multiplayer......... its like a whole different game... Theres alot of skills that dont work properly. By that i mean either some attacks never connect or passives never proc or sometimes the skill itself never works. For instance Rampage for Reavers sometimes just does absolutely nothing. I've also seen firestorm shoot out from the ground and go into the air instead of the proper way around.. Because you know... meteors fall UP not down... Multiplayer is absolutely littered with bugs and the recent "hotfixes" and patches have done nothing to fix that... I did however find it a bit ironic that the Free "Multiplayer DLC was named Dragon Age Inquisition: Multiplayer Destruction pack" Because thats pretty much what it did... destroyed multiplayer.

I have to be honest with you im not really sure how DA:I managed to win GOTY in the 2014 video game awards. I can't understand for the life of me how it could even compare to GTA V for console. I dont play consoles but my friends got the game on console and i've watched him play it.

I've said it before and ill say it again. DA:O was by far the best DA upon release... Didn't encounter even a single bug in that game in the 3 times i played through it.

To save a lot of confusion and avoid flare-ups! It would be nice if posters indicated KB/M or Console. It would make a clearer picture I think. The other topic getting a huge amount of posts is "PC Community Concerns", it could really do with this idea in mind too! At least we could find if it is a console or PC problem mainly.

The only thing I am now waiting to see on this page, is the announcement of patch 3, which I guess we won't see till next year.

Hi,

Has somebody found a temporary solution concerning the low-FPS issue ? Since the patch 2, I have this problem : I encounter huge stuttering problems, frequently. I play the game during 5 minutes, and suddenly, boom, 4 FPS in my face, it's suddenly ultra-slow. 20 seconds laters, it returns to normal rate, and 5 seconds later, re-boom, stuttering again. And this cycle repeat again and again, the game is now unplayable for me. When I look at my Asus tools during it, I see that :

1419130881-sans-titre.png

And sometimes, during the losses, my CPU burn like hell and is at 100% of his capacity. During 150h of playing, before the 2nd patch, I have never seen that. I only have this problem since the patch 2. How can I fix this ? Have you a date for the patch 3 ?

Yeah I have the same problem, there is nothing you can do about it,I can't even pass the main menu because of this crap, its a problem with coding of the game, don't bother trying different solutions cause it will not work,Bioware needs to release a new patch or worse case is that they will take out the game from the store and rework on it from the ground up(but its not gonna happen),for now you will have to wait for a patch.

This is the info that it seems was taken from Bioware

The game is currently misallocating the system resources, cpu, gpu, ram, pagefile and vram.

this is due to bugs in the coding for Speed Tree, and draw distances.

this is what is causing high usage spikes across all (random access and temporary) storage

and processing media, which in turn causes the stuttering, lags, crashes, etc."

But I have a solution that worked for me,you can find on the internet ,a 1 month old version of the game released by 3DM,it was released in the time when the game couldn't been cracked, and that version its the one before the patches.I deleted the one I have and replaced with the one I took from the internet, and it seems it works for now because when I'm accessing origin it shows me that I need to update the game. The problem you will have is that all the saves that you made using the game with latest patch won't work,if you load them it will ask you to update to the version of the game was saved(lucky for me I had more saves on my HDD because I played more offline),the other thing you can't access is The Keep,if you want to start the game with another world save, again you need to be online, and for that again it will ask you to update the game(damn it).So in the end if you still want to play the game offline and start a new game or you have a save before the patches this is the best solution right now to play the game

@Sugram84:
Well....yeah. Kinda. At least concerning hardware, my PC is definetely not the weakest (GTX970, Xeon 1231, 16gig RAM), but i'm building my systems on my own, and my graphics card also needs to be this strong (i'm even thinking about getting a second one) for 4k. So I can not speak for the people with lower-end stuff, but for me the game is almost flawless. Well at least the singleplayer. I once tried Multiplayer and after the 5th time I was thrown into (as lvl 1) partys with lvl 10 or higher ,I quit. Still waiting for that to be fixed, multiplayer needs some fixing.

@tekmageus:

Audioproblems ? Haven't encountered any. Also no DirectX errors. Crashing happened when I was at the great hall, and as I said the complete system crashed. I wasn't even able to go back to Windows, had to do a hard reset.
I haven't had audioproblems as well, but I don't know, it maybe could also be soundchip (?!?) related, as i'm playing with a Asus Essence ST (yeah yeah I know, expensive useles stuff :D) and i haven't had any audioproblems in any game at all.

It's usually obvious.  If there are no mentions about the controls being an issue, the poster is playing with a controller (which, remember, can also be on pc)

Don't get me wrong as i have said before this game is a good game as far as the idea goes. However Bioware seems to follow the same trend most game companies tend to do these days. That is release products before they are properly polished so that the community has to deal with all kinds of game breaking bugs. Now a developer would comment that its not possible to test the game to find all these bugs with a few people. Im sorry but thats complete and utter garbage. Any dev/community manager for any company that tries to feed people that bunch of lieing garbage should be fired. I've been playing games for many years. As example. I owned a PS1 and have 58 different games for that console. NOT A SINGLE 1 every had any bugs like what we have with modern games. Now a developer or someone would reply with "technology is more advanced its harder to weed those out". Here again i call complete and utter garbage. The technology has advanced yes but the basic implementation of code and graphics and all the other stuff hasn't changed. The foundation is still the same its just been improved upon. The only thing that has changed is the development of almost all games now a days is rushed out as soon as its "playable" (so the company believes) when in fact it isn't.

I never encountered any problems with DA:O like this. Nor did i encounter any problems with DA:2 like this. Why am i encountering them now? Development times for the games being rushed OR the developers are being lazy. I can't say for sure which because im not there to see what the developers are doing but what i can say is video game QUALITY has durastically decreased in the last 3 years on a massive scale. I.E. Darksiders 2, Battlefield 4, Assassin's creed 3, Assassins creed 4, Assassins Creed: Unity, Mass Effect 3, (Mass Effect 3 issues where mainly that the developers where incredibly lazy and recycled Multiplayer maps into the campain which made for several incredibly short boring and utterly pointless missions.) Diablo 3 (just... broken from the start developed completely unlike it's two predecessors in the series. Not even really worthy of being called a Diablo series game. It should be more along the lines of Diablo 3 ARPG/MMORPG hybrid. Its just wrong.) I could go on with alot more but i dont think i need to.

The point is game companies CAN make games that come out polished and proper they have proven it to use. Look at DA:O, DA:2, Darksiders 1, BF2, BFBC2, BF3, Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Assassins Creed 1, Assassins Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Revelations. All of these games where pretty well polished. Sure they might have had a few issues after release. By that i mean none where gamebreaking and it was really JUST A FEW if any at all.

So i've said all that to ask this 1 very big question thats on probably everyone's mind EXCEPT the game companies.

Why has happened in the last 3 years that has made all game companies stop caring about QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! Im fairly sure i know the answer and its probably the same answer as with alot of the worlds problems and it can be answered with 1 word. MONEY. Why make a good game that will last for years when you can make a new game every year and make way more money? Yeah good luck selling your games after a few years when your customers lose all faith in your company.

Good thing car salesmen do not work like that or we would all be dead from vehicle accidents etc.

You could argue that 'Marketing' is the primary cause for many problems today.  Obviously that goes back to money, but Bioware was focused on money when they made DAO too.

what i said before, mostly i have same issues then others + link i showed before (maybe bit different then most u see from Link below)

http://answers.ea.co...ht/false#M19445

but its not unplayable, crash rare, random game shut down rare (once per day one of them, & there are day's with out either happening), when i run sudden stop rare, less rare in Haven, it does that more in haven, so i'm slightly luckier then some, it could be worse

There is a way to play the game not patched and use the keep. I read in the the thread about Orgin locking east EU out of eng text in the game and how to circumvent it. I had the problem with no Eng text and shitty translation. You can try to find original post seach for not eng text in da;i or something like that or if you want I can send you this post (made a copy) with the method, pm me if you want.

Wow... Just spent the last 5 hours trying to play the multiplayer... Only level 8... At least 3 out of 5 games tonight we either don't get a key drop, and have to quit out, losing all EXP... Or we go through a door and we end up in undeveloped landscapes and have to quit out... This is getting really really really annoying and I am about to drop the multiplayer completely... This really was a terrible first experience with the multiplayer... It is unplayable for me.

Hello,

I just bought DA:I and downloaded it. I was monitoring entire download and install process however there was no message for downloading or installing Patch 2.

I disabled automatic updates in Origin before that. However, it seems that Origin just downloaded game with Patch 2 already :(. I have a folder Update/Patch in my DA:I folder...

Is there any way to remove Patch 2? I tried delete Patch folder but then game won't start in offline mode (black screen with loading icon and then crash back to deskopt). I tried to restore older versions however game do not recognize that it had older version since it was downloaded with Patch 2 already (I think), so there is no option for go back...

Can anyone help me with it? I really want to play the game without plastic hairs (and I had them even on everything Ultra) and other patch issues.

Any way to remove Patch 2?

Spec: i7 4790k 4,0 GHZ, EVGA GTX 780, 16 GB RAM (all drivers up to date)

Patch 2 for me at least didn't do anything wrong with the singleplayer, it just reversed everything "back to normal" concerning the shiny hair.
It seems that you have only patch one installed, so try installing patch 2. If you still have problems, set the "mesh" quality setting to "ultra" and then set the command line "game settings" in origins to "-ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel Ultra" without the quotation marks of course. That should do the job. Try that, and if that does not work, come back :)

No. I have Patch 2 installed, since in Patch folder there are files dated to 09.12.2014, which is date of Patch 2. Seems like now Origin download digital version of game with all patches installed...

Well, guess I will have to buy retail version to play on 1.0.0.0 version.... Good that my fiance also plan to buy it today so we will just buy retail one.

One question though- will my saves from 1.0.0.3 (new ones, beginning of game) work on older version?

Becasue even if I buy retail, install it and do not patch, I still have to somehow use my World State to get all my choices from DA:O and DA2.

I highly doubt buying the retail version will get you anywhere. Better check again if everything is really set up porperly. Newest Nvidia drivers installed ?
Settings - everything on ultra - are you certain? Because if you still have problems with the shiny hair after patch 2, it is imho a problem that is not solvable by just buying the retail version and hoping it does not upgrade.

I have crash galore when engaging in fights for whatever reason.  I have been able to play about 45 hours with only a crash here and there but now, it's a 90% crash rate whenever I'm in a fight.   This makes the game unplayable...that and the Character Record being locked (there's a workaround that works very inconsistement).  THese two are my main problems with the PC game.  I  can live with the KB+M setting, I actually like it (FPS-based control) but the tactical and no auto-attack need to be fixed.

Finally I managed to have a version of the game before the patch and now I think everything is before the patch, lucky that I had more saves exactly where I was before the patch, cause If the only saves were the ones after the patch it wouldn't load them if you don't update the game

Hi, would you mind teaching me how did you reroll to pre-patch?

Thanks for the info, but i don't want to install an illegal copy of this game. First, as you said, I want to play to my actual saves, and without patch, it would be impossible. I don't want to take an old save from 50h ago, I think I would prefer recreate another save instead. Plus, I have taken my info concerning the 3DM version, and an illegal copy which ask you to desactivate your antivirus in order to be installed correctly doesn't have my trust. I prefer wait for BioWare's solution, but I hope it will be soon. Especially concerning this problem of ressource allocating, I think the other minor problems can wait (thanks for the info concerning the source of problem, anyway).

But it leads me to another question : can we delete this second patch in Origin ? I think it would be a better solution than simply wait for the third.

a. In these threads BioWare are masters of the ostrich stratagem: hiding their heads in the sand.

b. What are they doing? Why, laughing all the way to the bank, of course.

c. Sure they care ... about your money.

OK, maybe that was below the belt, but I am starting to have anger management problems from the continued silent treatment while we wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait and ..... FOR THE BLOODY PATCH TO FIX WHAT WAS PROMISED MORE THAN 1 MONTH AGO.

grrrrrrrr

ok then

No need to be cynical, we are here to find solution, not to freely bash BioWare. I don't like the fact that this game isn't polished like DA:O or DA II were, but flood this thread with sarcasm will not help anyone.

Dunno, I didnt have bought it day-one. But I heard from a lot of people that it worked fine at this time. But I don't mind, anyway, my goal isn't to throw a rock at BioWare, even if we could have the right to speak about real testing&debug phases before games' release... I just want to find a solution to this problem.

I wouldn't mind an unpolished game that would be gradually fixed while I played it, but mine doesn't even start. I haven't played a single second.

It's very difficult to keep a cool head and wait for a fix when I feel like I've just thrown my money out the window.

Its not an illegal copy and you don't have to deactivate the antivirus, its actually the game, the original one without the crack, its illegal when you are using the crack. Its like I have copied my game on a different HDD to have it as a back-up.In the end you do what you want,I gave you a viable option to play the game, because as you can see, it passed almost a month,a ****** month ,since this started and no word when could we expect a fix.Right now I'm playing the game offline with no problems, having the version before the patch. And no, you can't delete the patch, the game is patched to the latest version,no matter what you do,that is the problem, we can't even go back before all this crap happened

Thanks for the information, Brynden. However, this doesn't solved the fact I can't use this version of the game with my current saves. I don't want to throw +50 or 70h of game like that :/

I'm tempted to do this and make a new game but... I'm not enough brave to do that. I am on my 3rd party, for a total of +200h of playing. Restart a new game isn't really an attractive choice...
