this is why I spend zero time following a game during development. I don't follow dev blogs, and i don't run around the respective forums going "OMG DID YOU SEE THAT 1,000,000 PRODUCTION VALUE COMMERCIAL? BEST GAME EVER!" Why? Because I seem to be one of the few people fully aware of how video game advertising works. In fact, the only game i've paid any attention to during development is Star Citizen, and only because I grew up playing CR games. SC is littered in the same trash marketing that every other AAA title is, and because of it SC is headed towards one of the biggest shitstorms in gaming history, when the game releases.

i'm looking so forward for this one, it will be epic :D and to be honest, chris roberts AND the community deserves it. roberts for being a greedy ******* promissing everything to grab even more money, the cusomers for throwing money and money and money for just a promise from a guy that only did one succesfull game in his life 20 years ago (ok he copied it over and over)

I'm agree :) , but please, let remains in the subject...

As asked many times, it would be nice to have an "estimated" date for the promised third patch... Just to know if the delays could be weeks, monthes, whatever...

Just to know if I can ditch the game to focus on another one more comfortable gameplay wise...

JPR out!

I do play a male elf (mage) ... and have never once noticed any problem with the models (other than the fact that I hurried the character creation part of the game and my guy looks kind of effeminate and weak).

But now I'll probably be all OCD on the "broken and glued arms" that I never saw before but that I can't stop staring at now because of your post.

LOL ...

And to be honest, that could be what made me think he looks so effeminate and frail all this time ...

:)

Welcome to the unplayable-male-elf crew. Just take off your armour and you will see how your arms bend, put some arms revealing armour and you will see even more fractures. You can't escape it. Male elves look as if someone kicked their arms and then glued them to make a grotesque chicken. It can't be unseen.

Holidays you say? Then why the hell they are doing all the stuff on Facebook? Post new video, streams, blogs surveys... they are clearly workin all this time but ignoring this forum. And don't tell me they are upset by begative response from us it's laughable. It's act of dispecpect toward people who are giving them feedback on forum. But yeah, try to justify them you look very funny in your efforts.

Don't we already know the answer to that question? That all the playtesting guys were SO happy with the UI but that they'll continue to collect our "valuable feedback"? Or was that someone else's answer? Unfortunately, I've got this medical condition where I can't tell one worthless liar from the other...

Whatever was wrong with my game before I knew was linked to vsync, and the problem returned but I seem to be close to a workaround.

Before, all I had to do was stick to automatic settings, even though this set my stats to almost max everything besides antialiasing and tessellation. Then I turned off vsync in game, and bam, no CTD ever, unless I activated an overlay like FRAPS.

Now, that fix no longer works, and neither does turning it completely off in NVIDIA control panel. What does work, so far anyway, is setting the max frames to 2, and turning triple buff on, and Vsync to adaptive. I noticed immediately that the beginning load time for the game start up is short as hell. The little green rift logo's firing off like it got a new pacemaker. However, when the actual game kicks in, it slows back to normal, so evidently, the vertical sync is what's slowing down dragon age (this does slow games down in general, which most people know), but the problem is when it's slowed like that, it tends to freeze or crash.

Now, so far I've been good today so maybe this is enough, and maybe someone else who has issues should try this as well. However, I'd love to get it back to the way it was when I could just fire up the game with no vsync at all. For some reason when I turn it completely off, in game and out, it still runs slow, even in the start up.

Why? I have no ****** idea. The patch doesn't lock vsync on, I don't think. When I turned it off, the screen tears I loathe came back, so that isn't it. Also worth noting, before the patch was out, I could play the game tear free with vsync off. Something fishy's going on in the background that we're not seeing, and if you're having issues, you gotta find that perfect balance.

So far, the closest I've gotten to stability post patch 2 with nividia is again by:

Turning max frames to 2 instead of application controlled

And Turning triple buff on, and Vsync to adaptive.

Hope that helps, and hope someone can help me.

Update: Turn off triple buffering, if you have that on, revert everything in Nividia settings to default besides your Vsync being on adaptive and max frames at 2.

If you have any sort of frame lock in the game settings, take that code out. That's what was limiting my game's speed, and the green logo now fires off like it does in the beginning, so loading speeds are fantastic.

After doing all of this, be sure to reinstall DX, and go to your game's save files and delete the bottom file. Not game options, but the one under that, which will reset your graphics settings. Should be something like game options settings.

Load the game up, uncheck the vertical sync, and don't mess with any of the graphics settings.

You're done.

I love people like you who IGNORE the technical forum with its 200+ pages of bug reports.

http://answers.ea.co...p/DAInquisition

People like you will only understand other problems when it will happen to you, how selfish.

I don't have time to read 200 pages of people with unstable overclocks. What part of not having a single problem with the game don't you understand? How can somebody have game related bugs and others not if on the same build? If the quirks are gameplay related, take it up in a personal review, not this thread.

Or are you talking about driver related issues, game crashes? Unfortunately the forums right at the source are filled with incompetence for the developer to wade through. If you don't think it's note worthy that there are people playing the game just fine, that your problem and others might be localised then you're pretty terrible at troubleshooting.

Did some more tests, and it seems that for me, the two things that were causing my instability was one, ambient occlusion was off while it was on in game, so I turned it on in the control panel, and two, the max frames needed to be set at 2.

I tested it with vsync on, as well as triple buff, and while it did slow my loading times back to normal, the game is still stable. So there you go, hope all this helps :)

I am so very disappointed, as others have said, in the lack of armor variety for Qunari.  And let's be honest, the armor variety for all races, and for both sexes is just pathetically limited.  Play as a Qunari female rogue, I look the exact same as a male human rogue.  **** is ridiculous.  There's no....dichotomy between races or sexes in this game in terms of outfit aesthetics!

And I'm starting to think those rumors of BioWare visiting Reddit more than this place for feedback is frighteningly accurate.  More so by the day.  And that is just despicable.  I just want some word from BioWare on what their plan is to remedy some of the glaring issues which, coming into 2015, still haven't been fixed.  I don't care how long it takes, I just want to hear something, ANYTHING, from Bioware.

This place has been more dead than a strip joint on a Wednesday morning for the past month in terms of noise from the company itself.

Hey MisterMannindy, did you enjoy DA:I????? What's the best in it for you? What's better than the best? Great, maybe something about better of the best? It is a Game Of The Year, they have truly put a lot of effort into this. Have you tried MultiPlayer? Don't feel discouraged, you can buy yourself shiny things, it is for you, they appreciate you being their customer and understand that you may lack time to buy these shiny $$$$$ things.

This is how I see their official twitter, more or less.

And qunari broken arms during bow shooting. Not to mention broken-glued male elves and some lovely directx crashes.

Oh I've visited reddit for the first time in my life. It looks like their twitter. These modern, progressive people and their threads of adoration. Young, brave activists thanking for every single thing. 'WOAH man, dinosaurs'. O-o-o-few bugs threads too, quite empty, unlike 'Is it cool for me to skip New Year partee to partee with ma partee' [heavily paraphrased]

Its evident that around December 15th, the dev team decided to take the rest of the month off.  I'm hoping they will be back "in the office" by around Jan 5th or so, so maybe we will hear something around then of additional patches.  The Dragon Age twitter is nothing but a mix of "we love that you like our game!" or "We are sorry for your bugs, check the help forum".  So, there wont be any feedback there - its just a marketing tool.

Did I have game-breaking bugs?  I did.  The most nasty of which were crashes to desktop because of the damn DirectX Hung garbage, that should have been fixed post Battlefield by EA.  But that would take actual work so...  Digging around for a bit, I discovered a workaround thankfully, it just involved me lowering my performance and watching cut-scenes and dialogue to 25-30 FPS... thats bad.

The last patch fixed a lot of the more minor bugs such as dialogue being un-selectable, cursor disappearing and so forth, so at least they got that right.

I suppose the writing was on the wall when thy delayed the game 1 month.  Thats not enough time to actually do anything for the game save for correcting a handful at most, major bugs across all systems the game was coming out.  Not enough for the "Bioware polish" rhetoric we are used too.

Holy crap.  I never would have imagined that BW would make this claim since it came out for every console minus nintendo.  They even mentioned that teams of frostbite developers helped support them, and they STILL had all the issues they did.

If its every in doubt, its all right here.

Man I wish the tactical camera worked like it did in the vid.

That's actually more than rumor, the devs themselves have stated in the past that they look mostly to other forums/discussion boards than the BSN for feedback. Given these are the official forums, you'd think it would be the other way around.

Any news on whether the disc unreadable error on the xbox 360 will be fixed in patch 3?

Have you tried clearing your cache? This was a common problem with Oblivion on the 360.. Go to Settings. Storage select hard drive. Press Y. You should get an option to perform maintenance on your memory cache. You may have to redownload any recent updates.

They tricked us into buying an incomplete broken game, and got our money already. So they are in no rush. I was looking forward to playing DA:I some over the holidays, but now I just hate Bioware and EA. If they do read anything anyone posts on these forums, they probably just laugh it off as us exaggerating or being trolls, but this is going to hit them hard for their next big game, when few trust them enough anymore to buy their product, or expect them to deliver any sort of communication with their customers apart from the facade they put up on twitter etc about everything being fine and dandy.
