I miss the days when games were tested and tried BEFORE they were sold to us... Bioware, you were quite literally, my one and only exception to my EA boycott rule.. Your last 3 releases or so, haveput me on edge, and DA:I is the final nail... Stop selling people beta's, and having us test it for retail. Shame on you!

And just speaking of annoyances ... that blasted cursor is *impossible* to see in massive spell battles .. there's so much going on during those moments, though I'm not sure what sort of cursor would stand out against all the visuals ...

I'm just guessing here, but ..... a BIGGER one, perhaps?

This is just another example of how little actual testing Bioware did of anything other than the console versions of this game...

Can anyone tell me if they fixed the cutscene crashing with NVidia cards?  I haven't played DA:I in a while because it took me 7 tries of cutscene crashing to desktop to get from Haven to Skyhold.

A friend of mine has been running on patch 2 with a Geforce GTX 460 without any cutscene crashes. He's using 344.65 drivers. What card/drivers are you using?

My problems with nVidia crashes almost completely went away with the 347.09 driver released on December 23. Only very infrequent "crash to desktop" (still run from desktop with Windows 8.1) remains.

Bluescreen are often hardware or driver problems. Download "WhoCrashed", and the next time you have a BS, reboot the PC and open WhoCrashed when Windows is ready. WhoCrashed will analyse the last BS and tell you what is the origin of the problem.

It's Jan 4, 2015 and the Origins store shows a ****load of games at basement like prices and our favorite game (DAI) still at 30% off.

Perhaps EA wishes to give their CEO something positive to say about DAI to their investors in the Q3 FY15 Financial Report.  Like ".. DAI fans already spent millions of hours playing our 2014 GOTY (DAI).....we love our fans.....we listen to our fans.....we ask for feedback and they give us good ideas....DAI sales exceeded our sales projections......"

Maybe, when patch3 comes along and removes all the warts from DAI, EA will sell the game at the original launch price. Well, I'm hoping.

EDIT:    Electronic Arts hopes to hit $1 billion in DLC revenues this year

Worst "hotfix" in the history of times for me! since this hotfix my game lagging and crashes and freezes. But this i can live with, the worst part about this patch is that my Male Inquisitor started talking british from american! don't feel like i'm playing my character anymore. Is like it's someone elses with the "face" i made for him....

Compared to DA:O ... there really is no real "tactic" system ... nothing logic based like the awesome one in Origins. As with other things that somewhat annoy me, though ... I've just taken it for what it is and have been having a feckin'  hoot with the game. Can't get over some of the costume designs (in certain "courtly" quests) and the dialogue/voice acting ... spooky good ...

My DW rogue was so hard to play because I could not see the cursor once battle started. I'm having a hard time with my warrior too but I'm getting used to playing battles "blind".  :P

People  (We) need to grow some balls, and actually stick  to what we say... How many of the very people here, have sworn to themselves, theyd NEVER purchase another item with an "EA" on the box? Dragon Age or Bioware, was my one and only exception to that rule.. After 2, i remainded cautious, and wasnt even buying Bioware titles.. I was gifted DA:I, and can truly see even Bioware is done for me.. Theyve gone the way of Blizzard, Bethesda, etc.. Cater to millions, F your fans, and your morals.. The dollar is all that matters. Not a great product.. RIP Bioware!

I have seen quite a few here and on the other subforums saying they have stopped playing until a patch fixes many of the pc issues.

I haven't even started the game.  I have no desire to atm.  And had I not missed my return window, I'd still be hesitant about paying 30% off until I see evidence they fixed things.

Because in despite of the occasional freezings, the game was playable for the majority of players before the patch 2 ? My 2 first parties were tough because of occasional freezings ("occasional" = minimum 2 times per day of playing), but it was okay because I could play during 4 or 5 hours without any problem. However, the third which was patched in the middle of the game became randomly playable : wild stutterings appeared, making the game totally WTF to play (3 seconds at 40 FPS, then 20 seconds at 4 FPS, 3 seconds again at 40 FPS, then 4 FPS again during 20 seconds, etc, etc.). I tried to make a 4th game, same problem after 3 minutes of intro. The hotfix only fixed the graphics problem, but that's all.

The "funny" part is that we are all waiting for a patch which will patch the game AND the previous patch.

I've been playing on PC for 5 playthroughs, without an issue. Pre patch 2 though. A friend of mine is playing with patch 2 on PC and he hasn't had any crashes. Though he seems to be plagued with some issue that every now and then corrupts assets in the game, forcing him to repair the game in order to continue. I'm assuming that's something that came with P2 as I've never experienced that issue. He's on his 3rd playthrough and it only happened to him 2-3 times though.

For those with the crash issue, especially Nvidia user, I do feel your frustration where you feel like nuking the world BUT REMOVE YOUR FRUSTRATION! I have a fix that MIGHT(Some of you may not be able to fix it by this but give it a try and see) work for you too because for me, it works 110% and so far, no crash anymore and I can play the game for hours without getting random freeze or crash to desktop.

All I did was underclock my GPU MEMORY CLOCK OFFSET to -250(Though you might want to try from maybe -100, if it still crash/freeze, go for -150, -200, -250 and lastly -290) using Nvidia Inspector or MSI Afterburner. I dont know why and how this fixed it but I got this from a youtube vieo when I was trying to Overclock my GPU but it always still crash no matter how low or high I OC, so I tried underclocking it and you know what? Im so glad I did it! :D So far 70+ hours in the game now where it used to be just 2 hours due to it crashing a lot which made me give up in trying to find a fix.

Give it a try guys! It wont make your system go crazy because you are underclocking it, not overclocking it which is different ;)

and also, this works for my other game that always crash or freeze randomly such as COD:AW, Battlefield 3/4 and my GPU is Nvidia GT750m

The voice switch has nothing to do with the hotfix.

It also happened to me (the voice switch). I can't remember, though, if it happened before or after Patch 2. Either way it's too late for my Inquisitor and I have 150hr invested in him.

Sounds like you may have had a heat issue. Underclocking usually solves that problem.

I tend to buy a game on release.

Don't buy any DLC.

And if I really enjoyed the game

Get the "legendary edition" some time later when it's on sale for £3-5
