It's very likely he is referring to Origins on console...

No .. PC Origins ... never owned a console and never will. And yeah, I like a lot about the DA:I controls better than Origins ... especially the camera like tactical controls ... super rad.

PC Master Race™ all the way ...

OPTIMIZE 1440P and 4K HD!!!  THEY ARE NOT PLAYABLE on any one video card, and since SLI is broken.......

You cursed all PCs to endure the same mundane cr*p graphics the PS4 and X1 users have to experience.

So you think edge scrolling and seamless panning/tilting from standard cam is inferior to the current Tac cam controls, which require both hands to use?

Are you trolling?

They even made a point to put it in the URL of the game.

Same engine, but vastly different sized development teams for PC

Yes, I was. More sarcasm than trolling, actually.

What makes you say 'vastly' different sized teams, though? I was under the impression Bioware had access to DICE's Frostbite development personnel.

Based on what we have seen:

1080p and below optimization is a console trademark

Non-SLI configurations are a console trademark

poor optimization on video cards not found in a current-gen console

Poor mouse and keyboard support (not that I care, I use a controller)

We got the big "F U master race" from Bioware this time around.

I don't know about you, but I expect 4K resolution support, 120FPS, and scalable video settings that actually adjust your performance on a newer AAA game.

Crossfire works fine, DA:I is great on AMD hardware at 1440p all on Ultra settings.

All you're experiencing is what I had to endure with games Nvidia had bribed, coerced or cajoled into being their little "exclusives". I can't help but feel a certain amount of schadenfreude.

So to correct your assumptions,

- the game is optimized for 1440p+ resolutions, on AMD hardware, a PC masterrace trademark.

- there's 100% CrossfireX support on AMD hardware, a PC masterrace trademark.

- great optimization on AMD video cards not found in current gen consoles, a PC masterrrace trademark.

- the poor mouse&keyboard support is certainly true, but you use a peasant controller, so you don't care :)

The good news is, that sooner or later you'll get the support you're crying for (SLI etc) but this game will always run better on AMD hardware.

I absolutely expect those things. There isn't a bigger AAA publisher, which = budget out the wazoo.

And you are correct in all points made, but I just thought perhaps you had some additional insight on the 'teams' comment. Beacuse that was the conclusion I came to as well when trying to figure out why DA3 ended up being such a bad port when the first 2 were clearly focused on PC first.

Oddly, yeah ... as one, I never used the edge scrolling and two, always used WASD/Mouse combined in Origins ... which is why the migration to Inquisition was fairly painless for me ... I would enjoy an increased zoom extent, though ...

But as I mentioned in a much earlier post ... realizing now that a lot of Origins users didn't do the two handed thing and actually used the edge scrolling ... makes some of the complaints much more understandable ...

SLI 980's works fine for me @ 1440p resolution ... only glaring fug-up is the occasional hideous white mist ... but it's so infrequent as to be a non issue for me.

The fog is present in nearly every zone, I switch back and forth depending on the zone I am in.  It happens in ANY indoor dungeon area, or any 'misty' outdoor zone: hinterlands & fallow mire included.

If the load times weren't horrendous (even with an SSD) it wouldn't be as annoying, but they are.

RE: not using side scrolling in Origins

Your right ...

Kind of a silly comment now that I just played a short bit of Origins to re acquaint myself; sort of impossible to see around the fight scene without side scrolling ... think what I was getting at was it was always in conjunction with WASD, therefore making the transition to DA:I not so bad ... something about being able to rotate the playing field makes things so much more immersive for me ... it's why I really don't last for more than a few hours playing games like Diablo or Torchlight as one is locked in to that one, top down frame of reference with no rotation ...

But I find the floating camera type approach to be a bit more fun than zoom out/in side scroll only ...

Are you sure you played Origins with mouse and keys?

Because you can fully rotate the field 360 with RMB + mouse movement AND zoom in/out in both normal and the pause, or "tac cam" in Origins. You didn't have to touch wasd at all.

This is why people are complaining that DAI Tac Cam is so limited...

So they are working on a patch. But other than fixing the keydrop issues in multiplayer, they are not saying anything else.

Yeah ... carry over from playing lots of FPS games as well as RPG's ... also (as I've been at it for a while) lots of early vid games, including old school DOS games ... always have a hand on the keyboard ... but can easily see how other players might not have ever touched the keyboard at all ...

We *might* get an announcement the day it launches. If we're lucky. In this age of instant world-wide live communication, it seems that the act of live communication is going the way of the dinosaurs.

*bounces in*

News? Any news?

*looks around*

Maybe a moderator or two chatting with us? No?

*peers over the ledge*

Maybe the community coordinator doing something with the community ... um ... hello?

*looks under the bushes*

Where did everyone go?

Ain't that just peachy.

I refuse to waste my time on any "social" media site.

I already waste enough on game and work specific forums ...

This is the only one where the creators/moderators/developers almost exclusively choose media other then THEIR forums to communicate with their customers/fans/members.

Yeah ... it is.  I share the same sentiments about social media.  Thing is, their target demographic is all about social media and likely don't care or even know about forums.  Non verbal communication from these guys is deafening.
