"Toxicity", saith the Bioware Devs quia eorum omnes forums, "all is toxicity".
Quality speaks for itself, said a wise person once, and when it does, don't interrupt. Marketing is a multi-billion dollar business designed to do nothing but interrupt.
This isn't art, no matter how much y'all love yer pretty elves and tasteful boob shots and EA ain't the Louvre. Money talks and bullsh!t walks and you can guess which side they think we're on.
Unfortunately, these selfsame cretinous marketing practices and the prevalent idea that 'consumers are stupid and don't know what they want' is far, far too widespread. It is standard business practice. I don't blame the devs or flunkies, not really. They don't sell the game, they just make it, and often they have rapaciously vacuous bean counters and the fatuously pissant microbes from head office glaring over their shoulders and constantly tapping that all-important bottom line. Thus this endless conveyor of disappointment and shoddy product creaks by.
All we can do is take it or walk on.
